Chapter 15 - Xie Mei

"I don't mind handing over the technique to the clan."

The Flash Dance Technique was indeed extraordinary. However, Amon designed this technique specifically for himself. If others were to use it, they wouldn't necessarily be able to perfect it.

Even if in the future, an enemy used this technique against him, Amon was confident he could handle them.

Still, the main reason he was willing to hand over the technique was to earn a reward.

There were many people in this world far stronger than him. Even though he possessed the Miracle Cube, it wasn't possible for him to catch up to their level in a single moment.

That's why he needed extraordinary weapons to support his survival.

"But, I want the Patriarch to lift the punishment you just gave me."

After all, if he could get more, why settle for less?

"As the Patriarch, I cannot grant that request. Punishments must be given to those who deserve them."

"Oh, come on, this is a technique the clan desires, right? At least give me more."

The speed of light allows someone to travel around the world in seconds.

Although there was teleportation technology in the clan, it was incredibly costly.

If the clan could acquire the Flash Dance Technique, they wouldn't just save money but also time—a crucial asset for a conglomerate.

"Normally, when someone develops a technique, they're rewarded with one treasure from the treasure room. However, for you, you're allowed to choose three items from the treasure room as a reward. This was agreed upon by the Elders."

Amon couldn't help but smile. If he could get three treasures, it would be worth it.

Moreover, the Lucerion Clan's treasure treasure room only stored the best artifacts from all over the world. Even weapons stronger than the Holy Spear, like the Demon God Sword, could be found there.

"Alright. So in total, I get to take four treasures from the treasure room, considering I also ranked first."

"Yes. Speaking of ranking first, you also get this."

Arthur handed Amon a wooden box.

When Amon opened it, inside was a black ring with a star-shaped amethyst gemstone. He immediately wore it on the middle finger of his right hand.

"This is the mark that signifies you are a Starheir."

Starheirs are those who achieve first place in the Maturation Ceremony. They are granted special rights, including access to all of the Lucerion Clan's facilities.

However, for Amon, who wasn't currently interested in business or politics, it wasn't as useful as the four treasures from the treasure room.

"Let's head back."

"Alright."

Amon rose from his seat after Arthur.

Before Arthur opened the door, Amon prepared to use the Flash Dance Technique, intending to avoid the crowd. But Arthur, being experienced, sensed it.

"What are you doing?"

"I want to escape. I can't stand being around them."

"Stop it, that's disrespectful. A Starheir shouldn't behave like that."

"Then what should I do?"

"Just keep walking and say yes, yes, yes. No need to run through the hall."

"Alright."

Amon could only nod obediently. The Patriarch was the head of this clan. There was no way he could disobey him.

When Arthur opened the door, a large crowd was already waiting for Amon. Of course, as Arthur passed through, they made way for him. But as soon as Arthur was gone, they swarmed Amon again.

Amon followed the Patriarch's instructions, though it was much harder than it sounded.

"Yes, nice to meet you."

"Yes, a pleasure to meet you."

"Yes, let's talk sometime."

That was all Amon could say, forcing a strained smile on his face.

His goal was to reach his carriage outside. Under normal circumstances, it would have taken just a minute, but this time it took him ten.

Once inside the carriage, he was out of breath as if he had just run a marathon.

"Damn, if being an introvert was a disease, I'd work hard to find the cure."

Fifteen minutes later, he, along with his two fiancées and the maid driving the carriage, headed back to his palace.

Xie Mei, who had initially gone to the party with Roderic, was now forced to ride with Amon because her ex-fiancé refused to take her home.

This young woman was tall and slender but lacked the alluring curves that Ariel had. However, she had long, beautiful legs, sleek black hair as mesmerizing as the starry night sky, ruby-like eyes, and captivating red lips. She wore a black cheongsam that showcased her body's curves, along with hair accessories that adorned the back of her head.

'Xie Mei… I remember her. She was one of Liam's harem members and only existed to extend the plot.'

In Miracle Cube, she was initially introduced well. However, because the author disliked women with black hair, she was made into a bland character and ended up insignificant.

'Uninteresting. I'd rather break off our engagement.'

Amon preferred strong women who could stand on their own. He had no interest in women who only existed to be rescued.

Recalling his days as a reader, Amon would get frustrated every time Liam's harem dragged him into irrelevant conflicts just so he could save them.

Amon doesn't want to end up like that. He would rather stay single than be tied to weak women.

But for now, he stayed silent. He was too tired to talk.

The air in the carriage remained tense as they traveled to Amon's estate, with no one speaking a word.
