All across the world, the name of one man resounded! Tales of his heroism spread throughout every single country! Every adventurer aspired to be just like him!
From nobility all the way down to the peasants, his tale was spoken, shared and admired by everyone. There is not a single human who has not heard his name before, as this man was nothing if not legendary.
Parents would tell their children of the great adventure this man had embarked on. From generation to generation, this man had never yet lost his fame.
A century-long war had come about between humans and demons. One of the greatest countries in the world, Vastos, had been sieged by demons. They ascended from the depths of hell clawing their way out of the ground and rupturing the earth. Soon, bloodshed had spread in every corner of Vastos and the army of these vile demons had only continued to grow. Indiscriminately and brutally, they had slaughtered humans. No father, mother or children were safe from these malicious devouring beasts!
The whole world believed the country of Vastos, along with its kingdom, would soon fall and become history. All hope was truly lost. However! The people of Vastos were determined to defend their country! Nay! Their kingdom! Nay! Their people! Knights assembled alongside their King to protect the kingdom of Vastos! Wielding shields, spears and swords, they fought and fought. One-hundred years! They fought and fought! This was the might of the people of Vastos!
Even so, it was completely useless. The army of demons had continued to grow stronger and more frightening as the army of humans grew weaker with each passing year. On the hundredth year, a great battle had broken out! A final stand between humans and demons! The victor of this battle would surely determine the fate of the whole world itself! Thousands upon thousands of horses galloped, carrying the brave knights into the hordes of demons. Soon after the battle had begun, many human lives were taken by the hands of the demons and pushed back. The knights had started to lose faith. Sinking deeper into despair...deeper...drowning in helplessness...
However! One man appeared in a blaze of glory! Almost as if the sun had come down! Burning hot! He radiated light! He lifted his sword high in the air, which emanated shine and fire! Everybody's eyes turned, looking at him. He then pointed his sword forward towards the mob of demons and shouted, "Raise your weapons!"
He took a deep breath, and then exclaimed, "The enemy is right in front of your eyes! Now is not the time to waver heroes of the kingdom! Charge forward! Charge forward!"
The knights began to stand on their feet. They then all raised their weapons in unison and let out a war cry. They got on their horses and charged forward, led by this mystery man. Victory was then achieved by Vastos! The people of Vastos celebrated and thrived in their victory. Later, people came to learn the name of this mystery man as he then began to brag about his name. This hero had certainly liked to boast a lot.
This story had become known as 'The Great Tale of Sedah'
-----------------------------------------
"My tale had ended a long time ago. People better still remember me!" Sedah exclaimed to himself.
For a long time, Sedah had holed himself up in a cave in a forest in Vastos. An insignificant, peaceful location.
"I doubt people remember me" Sedah's mood began to sink.
"Ah, I haven't talked to someone in so long. I'm bored as well. Super bored!" Sedah had laid on a rock for a bed, resting his head on his arms, staring up at the rocky ceiling.
"Humans are so ungrateful! They better remember my name and face! I made sure to boast a lot after I won that war for them. Ah! Can I really call that a war, though? It was so boring and easy...after all, I wiped out that whole army with a single swing." Sedah yawned.
Sedah, for an unknown amount of time, had been camping, hunting and very rarely going out to human villages to complete quests all this time.
"How long has it been now?" Sedah wistfully questioned himself. "I've been bored for so very long. Alone for so long now. Everything is too peaceful. Annoyingly peaceful. How much longer will I have to live? I can't die of old age- I'm practically immortal. After all, I'm a demon. A demon with small horns. Haha..." Sedah emptily laughed to himself.
"What's that? How lucky you might say? I can't die from age. That's right! Look how great I am! Unfortunately, it's not as great as you might imagine...who am I even talking to? I'm going insane from being alive for so long...ah, how completely boring!"
A sort of sharp tingling sensation went through Sedah's head. He sensed a human with great magical energy. "Maybe this person can..."
Sedah hurriedly left his cave and, with great speed, navigated to the great magical source.
"A great magical presence is emanating around this area. My dream of finally dying in battle! Maybe...just may-"
"-Wahh!! Wahhh!!"
"A basket?" Sedah then stepped carefully towards the basket. He looked inside, he found a baby wrapped tightly inside with a blanket. This baby boy had blue eyes and brown hair.
"He has the same colour eyes as me...wait. This magical energy. Is it coming from that stinking, crying baby?!?!" Sedah looked around, turning his head from side to side.
"Wait, wait, wait...where the hell are his parents?! Goddammit! How has he not been eaten by some hungry monster already? Unless his immense magical power has been deterring monsters away? I guess that's possible..."
Sedah's nose wrinkled. He then began to feel sick. "That smell...don't tell me he...shit. I'm going to throw up! It must be that smell keeping the monsters away!"
"WAHHHH!! WAHHH!!"
"GODDAMMIT! Will you stop crying already?! Tch. So annoying."
"Gahh~"
"Wait...that actually worked?" Sedah questioned dumbfoundedly. "Taking care of some baby is easier than I thought." Sedah proudly spoke to himself.
Sedah then locked eyes with the baby. After some thinking, Sedah looked at the baby. "Fine! Considering your parents abandoned you, I'll just have to take you in myself. First things first...a name..a...a...ARTHUR! From now on, your name is Arthur! Understand!?" Sedah pointed his index finger down at the baby.
"Gahh!!" Arthur proclaimed, kicking his tiny feet in the air, grabbing ahold of Sedah's fingers with his tiny hands. Arthur's face was happy and completely satisfied.
"Good! I'll make you into a fine warrior! I'll make you stronger than even me! No excuses! What do I feed a baby...milk?"
