Guilds have questboards. Each quest is classed as such:
S - Class (Highest of classes)
A - Class
B - Class
C - Class
D - Class
E -Class (Lowest class)
Quests will be posted by the kingdom or members of the public. Adventurers will pick these quests and as they do more they will be given a rank:
S - Rank (Highest of adventurers)
A - Rank
B - Rank
C - Rank
D - Rank
E - Rank (Lowest of adventurers)
Most adventurers are at the C to B rank range. To progress they must to quests. Quite simple right! An adventurer can only do one higher or lower class quest depending on their rank. For example if you are a B - Rank adventurer then you can only do an A - Rank, B - Rank or C - Rank.
Why can they only do one below?
You see, there are alot of workaholics, and if high rank adventurers were to do low class quests they would be able to clear out all of them quite quickly, giving no chance for rookie adventurers to gain experience and grown. Therefore, the guild had thought it was best to give a limit.
Note:
Quest papers will typically look like this:
-----------------------------------------
(A drawn picture of a monster)
A little message about the hunt
Reward: eg. 15 silver sigils
Rank: e.g C - Rank (letting adventurers know if they can or can't attempt it)
Size: e.g Average (This is really important as the size of the monster can impact the difficulty and allowed rank of the quest)
-----------------------------------------
Guilds?
Guilds are buildings under one name across a country, it's also a way for adventuers to gather, eat and drink with one another. Typically there will only be one guild in every country e.g Vastos. Vastos only has one guild in their country. The guild in Vastos is known as 'Voyage'.
What does a Guild do?
People come to guilds in order to post a quest, by giving it to a receptionist. It can also be from the King himself! The receptionist will then determine the risk of that quest. Write up a paper. Depending on the quest the receptionist will ask for a fee and the money for the quest.
Then that quest will be printed and distributed through every questboard in the country. It is their duty to keep track of quests that have been completed, adventurer's ranks, class of monsters and so on.
For example! A man comes in and has been having trouble with some low - level pests.
He will describe the problem to the receptionist, and says he'll give 5 silver sigils.
She will then write up a quest paper determining the rank and monster then ask for the reward and a fee, such as asking for another silver sigil.
The man will hand over the 5 Silver sigils and one extra sigil as a fee. The receptionist will collect the money, one silver sigil for the guild and 5 Silver sigils to give to the adventurer, who clears the quest.
How to determine if it's completed?
All monsters drop a magic stone. Each having a uniqueness to them. It is quite easy to tell which magic stone belongs to what monster through magical technology. Adventurers will hand in this stone, and then if all goes well will be given a their reward, and a stamp on the paper 'Quest completed'.
What's the use of magic stones?
They can be used for almost anything. Making armor. Making weapons. Technolgy. Enhancing people's living experience. Monsters can eat magic stones and grow stronger, so it's very important to collect! The larger and better the magic stone, the better the uses.
