The preparations for the parade were done. It was scheduled to happen a week from now.
The parade day had come. The entire School was covered from head to toe in decorations . The school grounds were hustling with students from many other schools.
Amidst all this chaos, the representatives from all the schools were doing final preparations in the auditorium.
Coach gathered Riverdale's team and said, "Alright everyone! We've been preparing for this day. Don't get Overwhelmed. Just go out there and give it your all!"
Caleb scoffed, "If only that's all it takes to win a competition."
Caleb felt Someone giving him a hug from the side. Adon cheerfully said, "Hey what's with the attitude huh?
Lighten up a little bit its not like our entire lives depend on this right?"
Caleb shoved him aside. "You wouldn't get it. The rest of us aren't as airheaded like you. It's not like you're helping me in any way. I have the responsibility to make these deadweights win."
Caleb stomped away. Hearing his words only made adon laugh even harder. "Airheaded huh? Hahahah sure." If only they knew.
On the other hand the judges, the broadcast team, the anchors basically everyone was ready to witness the interschool parade competition which took place once in
five years.
"Ladies & gentle men are you ready to witness the heated parade moreover a completion between these young competetive students?"
The 2nd anchor added, "Not just that, But this year we have two of the oldest rival teams joining us on today's parade! We present Brezmoth high & Rivendale high!"
"Over 10 schools from different cities are competing this year. But which one will be on top? Only One way to find out."
The opening drums start and the crowd bursts out cheering. And thus it officially began. Each team does their introductory routine. With every passing round competion was getting fiercer and fiercer Teams getting disqualified left and right
Until it was down to only 4 teams. The last two rounds were going to determine who comes out on top. The scores in this round were going to be assigned based on which team manages to be in the most coordinated manner while making complex formations.
The anchor announced, "And with that the teams which will be moving to the finals are.... Riverdale and brezmoth high!!!"
The tension in the air began to rise students from both sides cheering on loud.
Two of the best rival teams were about to show their worth.
"They made it to the finals I see.."
Just as Ivy turned her head she noticed someone's glance. It was Adon. He quickly looked away. But she was sure that it was him.
The final round was very intense.
Both the teams aggressively competed against each other making sure that there was no room for mistakes.
The judges were having a really hard time deciding who the winner was going to be.
One of the judges said, "Both of the team's formations were amazing and it seems like neither made any mistakes either.
An unknown number called one of the judges. After the call the judge whispered something In the rest of the judge's ears. Their eyes widened with shock. All of them collectively nodded to each other. A few minutes later the judges announced riverdale as the winner of competention.
The team was celebrating. Students were congratulating them. One of the students rambled, "It was obvious that our team was going to win." And the topic of everyone's gossip was the freshman who took everyone by surprise from the moment he stepped in the school. Caleb.
Caleb was a Typical spoiled brat who came from a Family with Rich Background. His attitude ticked off a lot of people. But they couldn't do much about it, their hands were tied. Caleb was an athletic prodigy in other Words, a gifted child. Always the talk of the school.
He was notoriusly famous for making a senior student transfer into different & disappear without a trace. The people who got on his bad side, he made sure that they suffer.
The school didn't even bat an eye to all the chaos he was causing. Because he was profitting the school with his continuous of victory streaks. And this Parade, was one of them.
A group of students who voluntered to clean up the after mess of Parade were doing their job. Ivy also voluntered. Two of senior girls approached ivy. "It's getting late isn't it?"
"You are Ivy right? We don't see a lot of fresh men stepping up to help out the school these days". The other girl added, "Your'e quite the hardworking girl aren't you? Keep up!", she exclaimed. Ivy felt a sudden wave of happiness fill her up. To her even the tiniest compliment felt like pat of commendation. The girls saw the visible happiness on Ivy's face. Grinning, they signaled each other with their eyes. The girls clinged on to ivy from the side and complained, "Oh if only there were more people like you! You know, there's this super important test comming up and me and my friends, we haven't studied at all!" The other girl insisted," You do understand how important this is for us right? So you wont mind finishing our part of cleaning as well right?"
The other students were all looking at ivy. She felt like she had no other choice but to listen to their request. Ivy washed away her denial and smiled," of course."
She knew that if she resisted it was going to convey a bad sign. She knew there WAS no other option. There was still so much mess to clean up. Juice cans, wrappers stranded in the middle of nowhere without a care in the world. Confetti all over the place covering almost the entirety of the school grounds. Ivy frowned, "what have I gotten myself into".
