After hours of cleaning, ivy fell to the ground. Her legs exhausted. Her Face covered in dust. Sweat dripping down her head. She let out a sigh of relief. It had already gotten really late.
The sun which was previously drowning in the soft yet bright colors of the sky had disappeared along with every part of its light lost as if the abyss had consumed it. The moon peeked above the horizon bringing shades of beautiful purples and blues, indigos , shades of comfort, along with the fear of darkness and sinister silence with it. A cold gust of breeze danced over ivy. Leaving her trembling, shivering. Goosebumps went down her feet. Her spine shivering with how different the school had become in a matter of hours. The ground which was previously Brimming with cheers, intense atmosphere, life everywhere now seemed like a cemetery, so quiet that even the howling of wind would scare them to their deaths.
Ivy headed towards the school building. Holding all the cleaning supplies stacked over each other to put them in the storage room. Just then she heard a loud thudding noise which came straight from the hallway. The noise echoed through the barren, abandoned hallways. Amplifying it's sound, making it even more terrifying. Ivy turned around, her eyes alerted to its best, flashlight in her hands. No one. There was no one there. "oh it must've been a cat" she thought to herself. Was it really a cat? The question spiralled in her mind as she kept walking towards the room in complete silence. She kept all the supplies and locked up the storage room. Ivy kept repeatedly ensuring herself that she must have been imagining things due to exhaustion. But her heart felt otherwise. It was beating so loud she felt as if it was going to jump right out of her chest.
The storage room was located at the opposite side of the front exit. Her mind was fixated on getting out of the building as soon as possible. She tiptoed her way through. Just as she turned behind to check, a silhouette draped in hood and bearly visible due to the darkness was standing nearly inches away from her. Her pupils dilated upon seeing this. Her body frozen. Stiff as a rock, then adrenaline hit her in an instant she was screaming her lungs out frantically running in the opposite direction, her heart beating faster than a train engine. She bumped into what seemed like a tall barricade and fell on to ground. She thought that this was it, this was her end. She Closed her eyes and cucooned up in a ball crying and trembling in fear, her hair Covering her face. Just then she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. She collected all the courage inside her and managed toopened her eyes to see a face lumimated under the moonlight.
The Hazel eyes which were radiating so brilliantly under the soft mellow rays of the moon caught her by pure surprise. Her face covered in shock, tears rolling down her cheeks, her nose all red due to sniffing. An alluring voice called out her name. But ivy was a moment frozen in time overflowed with a thousand different emotions flowing down her body. The voice called out to her again, "Hey, Cat got your tongue? Ivy? Calm down. Take deep breaths." His voice ringed through ivy's head and suddenly she snapped back to reality. Gasping, struggling to take air. "A-a-ad-adon I-is that y-you?" she stuttered. Tears chocking down her throat. Fear, still holding on her like chains on her feet. Adon sensed that something was definitely wrong. He covered her trembling body with his jacket which seemed to be twice her size. He held her in his arms so gently as if she was petal. The warmth of his body snapped away all the chains of fear which moments ago were dominating her without mercy. His voice killed all the confusion she felt in an instant. He let go. "have you calmed down?" he asked. But ivy wanted that moment to last forever the feel of someone protecting her, making her feel like there was nothing that could hurt her. But then, realisation hit her hard against the face and she was back standing on her feet.
But now as she turned around the silhouette has disappeared into thin air Without a sound. But she knew what she had seen. Adon didn't investigate her but asked, "Do you plan on camping out here all night?". Just the thought of that was enough for ivy to panic again. "Absolutely not. Please..... Let's just go".
They walked out of hallways. Adon turned around and saw something running away. He kept his mouth zipped. Making sure that ivy was alright. He thought to himself "i can't stand seeing her face in tears and pain ever again .Whoever did that..... Well you're not getting out of my sight... Alive."
