Footsteps in complete silence. Not even the sound of crickets were heard as they were quite the rarity in the cities. Adon leading her and lvy following him. Adon stood there and took out his keys.
Ivy shifted to her side & saw the most simple yet alluring bike standing in front of her. The metallic shine embodied it's jet black body. She noticed a strange symbol shaped like the letter `S' on its rear end. She was so engrossed in observing this unconventionally beautiful thing that she almost didn't notice Adon who already was on the bike signalling her to hop on. Ivy walked over and made her way up onto the seat . The Engine roared and they soon hit the road.
The twisted, dark and narrow alleyways ended and the road opened up into a massive highway. It was the only path which had a direct route through the city. The racing wind drove past them, leaving her hair defy gravity, become a free will.
For a second there they were speeding up so fast that Ivy momentarily lost her balance . "You should hold something if you don't wanna end up flying" his words grazed through her ears covered in a helmet. She slithered one of her hands behind her back and held on to the rear support.
The distant city lights danced through the enormous buildings. Digital Banners all around them. And the night seemed like an endless party for the rich, wealthy and those who were on the top. They were the only ones who could afford such a lifestyle. Ivy captured and gathered it all up in her eyes. The bedazaled city of Riverdilly it was. Ivy Kept directing him towards the route & soon the city lights had faded away & Small residential colonies and apartments were in their sights. She stopped him in front of one of those apartments and got off the bike. "Thank very much I really appreciate it!". Ivy thanked him. "It's nothing much." "No it is! I'll return the favour someday." Ivy said with a glint of passion and sureity in her eyes. Adon nodded & was back to the road again.
She creaked open the door to her apartment which was basically a small room connected to kitchen and bathroom. It was tiny and had a minimalist look to it. It had everything a home needed but nothing over the the top. A foldable table was mounted on the wall. A sofa cum bed occupied one of the room's corners. Small plants were hanging around the windows. And the walls were creatively decorated with Polaroids and small cabinets. She was so exhausted from her day that her body automatically made her fall to her bed. Before she even realised her eyes were glued shut & she was lost asleep.
"I understand." A phone beeped and the call ended. Adon was standing next to his bike when a shady figure approched towards him. "You got here Earlier than I expected". "Rather, you've arrived late. Isn't that so? Ar-", "Dont. Do not call the by that.. whatever that name is". Adon said in a defensive tone. The shadowy figure laughed at his his words "Get used to it rookie. This ain't no video game where you get to choose your so called 'username'." Adon's face continued to frown. His expression seemed to be disgusted but obliged to do nothing.
"let's get goin now." the man ordered. With every step they took his heart pounded so much that he thought it might come out of his chest. "It's okay. You're gonna be okay. This is your decision. It's final and ironclad don't back out now. " Adon comforted himself and stanced forward.
