Lucien was evolving into a person I had never seen before. He became more aloof and skeptical every day. It seemed like the guy I had fell in love with was disappearing, to be replaced with a distant, suspicious person. He didn't talk to many people, and when he did, his remarks were scathing and mistrusting.
He didn't give me the same look that he formerly did. His eyes, which had formerly been kind and kind, were harsh today; they were always looking and asking questions. Despite his best efforts to disguise it, I could tell that he was afraid. He was afraid of losing control, afraid of the traitor, and maybe even afraid of what he was becoming into.
He was training with the pack, and I saw that he was moving more forcefully than normal. The warriors flinched at the roughness with which he yelled out instructions. Though I could see the discomfort on their expressions, they did what he instructed. Now, they feared him as much as I did.
