There were many shadows throughout the night. Standing at the window, I could only see blackness pushing against the glass as I gazed out over the pack grounds. The woodland beyond was a chasm, full of mysteries and dangers that I could sense but not see, even with the full moon beaming down.
The rogues had been attacking us at random for the previous week, stretching the borders of our area and testing our limits. Despite the fact that Lucien's warriors were on high alert and patrolled day and night, the rogues managed to get through practically undetected, leaving behind nothing but destroyed fences and the lingering smell of danger.
