Chapter 30
"No, Lucien!" I yelled, kneeling next to him, my voice cracking. His breathing was irregular and shallow, and his body shook. Lucien felt his life force being drained by the first alpha's spirit, which towered above him and had eyes that glowed with a cold, ferocious light.
Lucien's complexion became pale as his strength diminished, his face contorted in agony. I tried to touch him and hold on to him with trembling hands, but I was unable to halt what was occurring. The spirit, the prophesy, and the tie were all too strong.
My voice raspy as I wept, "Lucien, please." "Remain by my side. Please stay with me.
However, Lucien's chest hardly rose with each breath, and his eyes drifted closed. I had a sense of the world collapsing around me, with the weight of everything crushing my heart. This was not intended to be the case. It was expected of us to work together to find a way out of this. But now, I was starting to lose him.
