Yuqin was disappointed that she wasn't able to see Han Rong at the police station. She left the vicinity and drove to the beach. After parking, she sat in her vehicle for a few minutes. She closed her eyes and replayed the moment when she first saw Han Rong in his wheelchair. He looked so different from before. She sighed and came out of her car. She was on her afternoon shift so she saw Henry leaving along with a few others.
As she got ready for work, she forced herself to smile at people who greeted her. But on the inside, she wanted to see Han Rong again. During her work, she wouldn't allow her mind to even think about the man she loved. She needed to concentrate on her work.
After a few hours, she got off work and headed to a nearby bar. She haven't got herself drunk in a long time. She didn't even drink after her father passed away. Han Rong left a huge impression on her. At the bar, she saw many people chatting away while some of them drank alone. She sat near the bartender and asked for drink.
Just before she took her first sip, she saw a group of officers coming in. Her eyes wandered and there, she saw Han Rong with his colleagues on the other side of the bar. She pretended not seeing them but one of his colleagues saw Yuqin and came over.
"Hey girl. Are you alone? Mind if I drink with you?" The young man smiled and introduced himself.
"My name is Albert. How about you?" He asked.
"Yuqin." She smiled and looked away. She took a small sip and Albert said, "Why are you alone?"
"Me? I'm not alone. My friend went to the washroom and I'm waiting for her." Yuqin replied without looking at him.
"You're lying. I saw you sitting alone for quite a while." Albert looked at Yuqin and smiled.
"Are you going to invade my privacy?" Yuqin asked and Albert burst into laughter, "No. I cannot. My boss would kill me."
Just then, another colleague of Han Rong nudged him.
"Boss, don't you think that girl looks pretty cute? I wonder if Albert will be able to win her over."
Han Rong made a fist then told him to shut up. He looked at Yuqin again and his eyes turned away.
"Where are you going, Boss? Aren't you going to have a drink?" He asked but Han Rong ignored him.
Han Rong went closer to Yuqin and Albert while the other colleague chased after him.
"Yuqin." Han Rong's deep and soothing voice called out her name. The name that was engraved in his mind for the past eight years. Yuqin came down from her high chair then saw her first love in the wheelchair. She slowly walked towards him and everything around her became a blur. Her eyes only focused on what's in front of her. Han Rong, she thought. Just as she was about to take another step, she stepped on her shoelace then fell towards Han Rong.
Han Rong caught her just in time.
Yuqin blushed as Han Rong didn't let go of her waist. They looked into each other's eyes and didn't say anything. Yuqin felt his longing but Han Rong gently let her go.
"Yuqin, were you hurt?" Han Rong asked out of concern.
She shook her head, "You caught me just in time." They looked at each other again and slowly smiled. Albert looked at both of them and he was in shock.
"Do you guys know each other?" Albert asked.
"I think I just witnessed a movie scene." Another one of his colleagues, Max, shook his head in disbelief.
Albert nudged Han Rong.
"Boss, if you know her, can I go out with her?"
"Albert, do you have a death wish?" Max replied and dragged him to the side.
"I'm serious. I would totally go out with her." Albert replied.
"Are you dumb?" Max replied and shook his head, "They obviously know each other."
"Huh? They know each other?" Albert looked at both of them again and Han Rong's eyes never left Yuqin.
"She's mine." Han Rong replied to all of them.
"Boss, how did you know her?" Albert asked.
"She's my first love and my ex." He smiled at Yuqin again. Albert, Max, and another colleague named, Ling, were all speechless.
"S-She's your ex? You had a girlfriend before and you didn't tell us?" Albert said while the other two tried to calm him down.
"Albert, enough. You lost already." Max chuckled and shook his head.
Just then, Han Rong got a phone call.
"Everyone, we got work to do. Let's go back." He looked at Yuqin one last time before going the other way. She gathered up her courage and said in a loud clear voice.
"Han Rong! Take care! I'll wait for you!"
Han Rong didn't look back but he smiled. He was fortunate enough to see Yuqin but whether he wants to go back to her or not will have to wait. Both of them have work to do.
