Liam stood stupefied, it was Evelyn's voice, he was certain.
Liam became instantly worried, he could tell she was in some kind of trouble from the sound of her voice.
"Wh....what the hell are you? Somebody heeeelp!!" Her voice was breaking and had fear contained in it.
Liam couldn't stand still anymore he ran towards the sound of the voice, after encountering the supernatural, he'd be foolish to think that this wasn't real.
The sound led him out of the open area and people slowly thinned out, Liam ran as fast as he could, he didn't know what was driving him, but his heart was beating unusually fast.
Maybe because Evelyn was in whatever sutuation she was because of him or because she was just beautiful. Or maybe something else but he knew he wasn't suppose to be running towards whatever was happening but he was doing just that.
He got to an area behind a building, he recognized the place, it was a short cut to the field.
Just behind the building Liam saw the unbelievable, a man held Evelyn by the neck tightly, she was gasping for air and tapping his hand in fear as she stared at his face.
What was unbelievable was the man's face, it slowly turned to that of a monster, like a dinosaur's head, it opened it's mouth as it's mouth threatened to swalow Evelyn whole.
Evelyn suddenly looked very petite and with such surge of adrenaline she passed out.
Liam seeing this scene unveil right in front of him felt his heart in his throat, eveeything seemed to slow down. Liam felt a strange anger well up in him and a strange urge to rush forward and do something.
"No!!!" Liam shouted as he rushed forward. He recognized the monster, not the monster in particular but it's head was familiar, it looked like the one that took his grandma's life right in front of him.
His anger rose just by seeing simething with the same face and it was trying to ti kill someone he knew right in front of him again.
Just when the mouth bit down on Evelyn a hand grabbed the monster's head and forcefully shut it's mouth back with brute force.
The force made the monster stagger backwards and Evelyn feel limply from his hands to the floor.
The monster looked to see who is was, then he saw a figure, a guy with curly black hair, his eyes were shining with bright white light.
It was Liam!!
Liam didn't know how but he felt a sudden anger he couldn't hold back and just ran towards the monster and then this.
Liam appeared in front of the monster with unbelievable speed and clawed at it, in the motion his fingers grew out claws.
His swipe was strangely inbult with strength and sent the monster flying, it crashed far away.
"Roaaar." The monster roared as it staggered to it's feet, surprise clearly visible in it's eyes.
This roar was loud and everybody in the school heard it.
Liam still in his frenzied state appeared in front of the monster and digged his hands into the monster's chest, he clenched his hands and forcefully pulled it out.
Out with his hand came a big sized heart, it was covered in black blood, not red like that of humans and was still beating rapidly in his hands.
Liam clenched his claws and the heart burst, spraying blood all over his face.
The red light in the demons eyes died down as it sluped on the floor lifeless.
Liam's eyes slowly dimmed and the claws went inside, his unstable mind quickly calmed down.
Everything returned to the normal he was familiar with.
Liam stared at himself in shock after seeing the blood on his hands and the monster lying in front of him.
I just killed a monster with claws?
Liam entered into a bit of frenzy and this happened, he was a bit conscious of what he was doing but a bigger part of his mind was being controlled by anger.
Seeing Evelyn lying unconscious on the ground he ran up to her, luckily she was still alive.
Liam was dripping with black blood and he didn't know how he would carry someone uncouncious out of here unnoticed, and unlike the alley Max was in, although here was a bit secluded and students didn't normally use this road, it was still a used road.
But Liam had to get out from here as fast as he could, but he couldn't leave Evelyn here unconscious. She was like this because of him.
Thud! Thud!!
Liam's super hearing suddenly kicked in again and he heard large footsteps incoming.
Lam's heart beat immediately quickened.
Thud! Thud!! Thud!!
The sound drew closer. This time he heard clearly, it wasn't just one person, they were many and the steps sounded unusually heavy.
Just then Liam felt a black figure flash through his eyes and then the next moment he felt strong wind wash over him.
By the time he opened his eyes he was gone from where he was, and in the forest he was familiar with, the one behind the school.
"My talisman." A soft voice muttered sorrowfully.
Looking up to see who he was he saw two figures, Sophia and one of the girls whom face he was familiar with. She was among the three mysterious girls gang.
Sophia was the one that took him out of there just now, he saw Evelyn uncouncious in the other girl's hand.
"That was my master's gift, you've got a lot of explanation to do Liam." Sophia said icily as she stared at Liam.
Liam was dumbstruck.
What did I do to your master's gift? That monster couldn't be the gift right?
Well, Liam breathed a sigh of relief seeing they were out of there and safe. He laid lazily on the ground as a strange weekness took hold of him.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Liam, the whole school was reeeling from the frightening roar moments ago.
There was one question in everyone's mind and that was.
What the hell was that sound?!
