Chapter 8 - lost control

Jayden's POV

I stood by the hallway with the White Brothers. We were talking about the clue we discovered that could lead us to Uriel's hideout.

Many girls gave me flashy smiles as they passed my group, but I ignored. My mind was Jovita. I had been thinking about her all day.

Seth threw me another angry glance, and I ignored. He was pissed.

He had picked up my thoughts about Jovita, and he was not pleased with it, but I didn't care.

I got to know from Eric that he was into Jovita, ignoring his fated mate.

Knowing Jovita wasn't his mate putted me at ease, at least I only had a few options to sieve through, but it hadn't answered the question of whether or not she was my mate.

I was anxiously waiting for that answer as today was a full moon, a time when werewolves wolfed out, and met their mates.

If Jovita and I were mates, we were bound to meet today, even if she hadn't wolfed out yet.

A part of me was strongly convinced she was my mate due to the strong attraction I felt towards her, but I had to be certain.

"We would tour the woods for the rest of the night after midnight, we might able to finally trap Uriel", Eric said, jolting me out of my thoughts.

I looked up to see the others staring at me.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"I hope you'd be able to focus after the full moon", Eric teased. The others joined him in laughing at joke, expect Seth whose beautiful face was as cold as rock.

When we dispatched, I headed for the woods at the beach. It was a place I'd love to wolfout for the first time in Forkstown, and a little part of me expected to see Jovita. She told me that was her go to spot when she in need of peace and quiet.

I looked up at the sky, it was a clear night sky bereft of stars, and in less than an hour time, a full was going to appear, as predicted by our seer.

It was the most exciting for most wolves, especially the new ones.

It had never been anything special to me, but today, it meant the world.

I walked through the low shrubs, flowers, and grasses, headed for the clearing were I had seen her the day before.

As I advanced towards the clearing, I saw her seated on the log, her black hair glistening in the slowly appearing moon light.

Setting my eyes on her got my wolf excited and hungry, and in the swiftest and most smooth way I have ever known, I morphined into my wolf.

The sound of my silent transformation must have attracted her because she turned to stare in my direction.

Her beautiful turquoise eyes showed shock at first, then fear, then warmth spread through her face as she recognized me. I was shocked she'd recognize me even that fast. She had never seen my wolf before.

Slowly she stood up, and started to walk towards me slowly, her eyes glowing with courage. When she reached me, she patted my furs.

"Jayden, is this you?" She asked .

I nodded in reply trying to suppress the exciting urge her touch sent through my body.

"You're my mate Jovita", I said with a conviction that surprised me.

She looked at me puzzled, her beautiful lips slightly agape, and her slim curvy body highlighted by the bright moon light. I had never seen anyone more beautiful. Compared to my large form, she was three times smaller than me.

"How can that be possible? I haven't even wolfed out yet, plus I'm outcast pack, our clan mates only within the clan", she said, stretching her long, slim, delicate neck to look at my face.

"It doesn't matter, sometimes the moon goddess makes strange matches, but I'm certain you're my mate".

"So you don't mind having a wolf who's not even fully a wolf yet as your mate? You're the Beta of a powerful clan, what would your clan say?" She asked.

"It doesn't matter what they think or say", I replied more to myself than her. I knew my clan was not going to be happy with this match, but I couldn't care less. I was in love with Jovita, and the fact that she was my mate only seemed perfect and right.

She stared at me for a while, emotions flickering across her face.

I took a step forward, and before I could myself, I pulled her into an embrace. My whole body lit up with a fire I had never known existed. A strong feeling of need and desire washed through me, leaving me breathless.

We stood that way for a while, wrapped in each other's arm, under the glowing moon light, and slowly I transformed to my human form.

She gasped stepping away from my bare chest, not wanting to meet my eyes, color rising to her cheeks.

I chuckled.

"You need to get used to this, and besides I don't have a shirt or sweater to cover", I said with a grin, enjoying her shyness.

I took her small, slender hands, and spread them on my bare chest.

She stared at me with widening eyes, shocked, but after a while she took courage, and slowly touched my chest.

I closed my eyes trying to calm down my hungry wolf.

A movement in the grass startled us, and I quickly pulled Jovita to myself, my eyes scanning the woods for the intruder.

Slowly, a pale figure emerged from the darkness, it was the cold one, Uriel.

My wolf growled, and anger flashed through my body. I could feel my shudders building, but I had to control it. I didn't want to wolfout with Jovita beside me, I could hurt her.

Stared at the vampire, and was surprised to see the look of hurt on his face.

"Jovita", he mumbled.

My body stilled, he knew my mate, how?

I looked down at Jovita, but she seemed equally surprised. Then slowly recognition spread on her face.

"Uriel?" She gasped.

For a moment I felt a maddening rage, and at that point I lost control.
