Chapter 7 - Strength of One

In a matter of seconds, four of them had collapsed unconscious. Seeing what had just happened beyond their expectations, the people who were near me immediately moved to get away. Creating distance so they could use spells to defeat me.

But of course, I didn't let them do as they pleased. I started attacking them one by one, starting from the closest one. I ran and punched their solar plexus, chin, nape, and various other places on their bodies. One attack, one person down.

In their view, I seemed to disappear and appear in unexpected places. They lost their concentration and couldn't even aim at me perfectly. Some of the spells they managed to cast hit their own teammate and caused panic in their side.

From all the people in the arena, only few people could see my movements and position because of the red and yellow aura from within my body. One of them was Lichtalia who watched my fight with great focus. Whether she realized it or not, she smiled and got excited every time I attacked my opponent.

How can he move like that?

Is it an illusion spell?

No, he just moves fast. Is he manipulating the wind element or even the lightning element?

But I don't feel any change in the wind, nor do I feel any lightning element in the arena.

What kind of spell is Ace using? Curious, I'm really curious!

On the other hand, the audience felt confused with the course of the fight that took place in the arena. Previously they thought that the fight was clearly in favor of my fifty opponents. Moreover, the one they were facing was me who was already very famous with the nickname of the worst loser. Even if there was resistance, at least they would see a little show featuring some kaboom, zap, or splash.

In reality, what is happening now is a one-sided massacre. They saw me attacking the spellcasters fiercely and brutally. Punching them, kicking them, strangling their necks when they were about to recite spells. None of my actions showed any magical ability in their eyes.

"What fight is this? There is no beauty in it at all. This is not a duel between spellcasters!"

Some of the audience seemed to not accept what was happening in the arena and I didn't care about them because right now my focus was with the fifty spellcasters who were fighting against me right now.

The remaining few felt they had gained some support from the words of the audience. They pointed their finger at me and said, "Ace, what the audience said is true. You attacked us with physical force and not a spell. This fight is considered completely invalid!"

Hearing their words, I just smiled coldly and continued my attack. Using my hand, I grabbed the neck of the person who had just spoken and whispered a few words in his ear, "Hey, do you realize that you just admitted that you are useless trash? If you who can use spells can't beat me who only uses physical strength, what's the point of you living? You are even worse than a loser like me."

My words were like a curse that began to sink into his heart. Realizing the truth in my words no matter how hard he tried to deny it. In the end, the person screamed and ended up in frustration and madness. To ease his pain, I quickly hit him and knocked him out.

Because of the fast-paced fight, few of the audience realized that the duel had only been going on for a minute. If calculated in total, the time it took me to defeat all my opponents in the arena was one minute and twenty seconds. Forty seconds faster than the ideal time I had previously targeted. Looking at the fifty people who had been lying unconscious, I realized the reason why I defeated them so quickly was because they were completely unorganized and their abilities as a spellcasters were only average.

Looking towards Lichtalia in the distance, I thought that with my current abilities, it would be very difficult to face spellcasters of Lichtalia's caliber head-on. I could still clearly remember how the girl quickly and casually controlled the air around her perfectly. This made me realize that my path as a spellcaster had just begun.

Turning my gaze towards the audience, I said in a loud voice, "I'm sure the reason why you've come to watch the duel between myself and these fifty losers is because you've heard the news that has been circulating quickly. This duel was witnessed by Lichtalia Aurora herself and the agreement that was made between the duel participants was that the loser would have to leave the academy. The voice of one of the six elites certainly carries the same weight as a letter of agreement. I, therefore, say that these fifty people will be expelled from the academy the moment they lose."

Lichtalia immediately walked to the center of the arena and said a few words as a confirmation that what I said was true. Of course, the audience became noisy because this was the first time something like this happened in the Zephyr Magic Academy.

None of them doubted Lichtalia because the elite title was not something to be looked down on. There was a power and obligation behind the title. A title that could only be obtained by the top six students in the academy.

Before leaving the arena, I said to Lichtalia, "Class Prefect, I'll take my leave first. I have something to do. You can meet me or give me the news when they all leave the academy after they regain consciousness. Like I said in the cafeteria, I will see them leaving the academy with my own eyes. Oh yeah, I'm staying in the Hall of Combat now so you can find me there."

Without giving her a chance to answer, I had already walked out of the arena.

Meanwhile, in a certain room at the top floor of the Zephyr Magic Academy tower, an old man looked towards the building where the arena was located and laughed while playing with his beard.

"Charles, he really does look like you when you were younger. Besides, what just happened will force the Hall of Combat to reappear in public once more."
