Chapter 3 - Human Part I

September 4, 2024

10:17 AM

"Kaes, I'll be back later, ok. I have a meeting with the faculty of the university, along with a few other chaperones. It shouldn't take more than an hour, there's food in the fridge if you want it." A woman's voice sounded in a room.

Her words were only met with a grunt, coming from the tall creature lying on a bed, its covers, pillows, and sheets everywhere, on the floor, on his side, at his foot as the other was hanging on the side of the bed.

Taking that grunt as a sign of acknowledgment she left the room, however not before saying one last thing, "I love you Kaes."

"Love you too." His voice barely a mumble, back to his soft tone that just blends in with the air as if nothing was said.

Smiling, she walked out the room as if she heard him, while the rest of the room entered a state of silence, before the breaths of the teenager broke the silence and filled up the room until they slowed down as he reached the end of his consciousness.

11:06 AM

The teenage boy easily capable of passing for a grown man was sweating like a pig, shooting open his eyes. His muscles felt weak and he could barely move, but he somehow managed to force his body to get up through pure willpower. For a body that is used to being asleep for about 20 hours a day with limited physical movement which was beyond capable of causing muscle atrophy.

When he got up he felt a piercing pain in the front of his head, Kaes began scratching his stomach and he moved to the sides of his belly, which were already red, until eventually his stomach began growling.

'I'm sick.' Kaes thought after he saw the rash on his skin , "F***. It's been a day and I'm already sick." His stomach began growling even louder this time as if begging for sustenance. He could feel it his stomach muscles clenching as he felt sicker than he had ever felt, his headache was turning into a migraine, he felt like he was soon to fall over each second and in response he planted his feet and tilted back his head, each second he felt closer and closer to falling.

SLAP*

The sound was crisp and left an echo in the room, until it was eventually quieted down, the blood began to flow waking him up, as his mind and eyes focused, his body's balance no longer disrupted, he walked over to the mini fridge and took out the only container big enough to hold some food.

He opened it up to see a steak and fries, the steak cooked to medium well, just the way he likes, courtesy of his mother. He opened up the microwave and popped the food inside and set it for 1 minute 30 seconds.

His next action was him heading straight for a gray bag he had personally packed for their trip and inside there were a pair of clothes and several plastic bags one of which was filled with several containers of medicine, one of which said Ibuprofen, he took out around 4 pills and headed right back to the microwave only to see 35 seconds left as he took a red plastic cup and filled it with water and had a quick sip.

He quickly got up on the counter, his body already tall, standing at an impressive 6 '5, he placed his back against the glass, 'Cold.' It was cool and comforting for the heat his body was feeling. His rash was starting to get more irritating, but he chose not to scratch it. He wiped his forehead, getting rid of the sweat, but his whole body was already covered in sweat, so he really didn't accomplish much.

"I need some sleep." He thought tiredly.

Beep, Beep.

The beeps of the microwave ended on the second beep, as Kaes opened it up in a hurried need, as he was starving and needed something to eat before he had this medicine in his system. He was stuck sitting down on the counter as he couldn't muster the strength in his legs or core to keep his balance, but as soon as he smelt the food his eyes dilated and his stomach began growling for the food.

'Warm' he thought. The steak wasn't as hot as he wanted it to be but his stomach couldn't wait any more and he scarfed down the pieces in less than 30 seconds. His stomach growled even louder now as if the steak didn't satiate his hunger and instead only helped it grow.

'Hot.' he thought. The fries were almost scalding hot but he didn't care as he scarfed them down just the same as the steak. He grabbed all of the Ibuprofen tablets and popped them in his mouth and took the water almost instantly and in a few minutes he felt his migraine slowly dissipate.

Growl*

His stomach now growled even louder that it could be heard throughout the entire room, he got up off the counter, to call room service and order some food, but the second his feet hit the ground, his migraine now came back with a passion as his balance was knocked off as he fell over to his side and hit the wall, he began to slide onto the floor where he just laid for a few minutes. When he hit the floor, and his knees bent he could feel something odd, in his stomach as if it was twisting, like something was forcing itself out.

Kaes' mind in less than a second understood what was about to happen, he rushed to the bathroom where he knelt down and he held his hair back as he threw up everything he had eaten. He kept vomiting, the food, the water, a little blood here and there, and then he threw up some black sludge, it truly wasn't the best sight of Kaes. His entire body was covered in sweat, little throw up on his face, his nose was leaking mucus and some more throw up, and his eyes had bags underneath and he looked like he was a step away from falling asleep. He was like a messy baby that needed to be cleaned.
