Chapter 5 - MOVE Part III

'Cold.'

That was the only thought that ran through Kaes' mind, his limbs now numb and relaxed, his bones were no longer shifting, and he felt much better as he had no fever nor was he vomiting and he could even breathe better. Even though Kaes felt better he now felt like he was freezing, and he could even hear his heart beat, it was slow and getting even slower, which caused his eyes to feel drowsy. His whole body seemed different, his muscles which had long since atrophied, had life breathed into them once more, they were growing, easily gaining mass, but he couldn't feel it as his entire body was numb.

His very body kept growing and expanding till he looked like an athletic person who visited the gym daily. His body was now lean and muscular, his abs began to show and his veins were showcased to the world, pulsing with his lifeblood. However even though blood was flowing, his body was still on pause, luckily all it needed was a wake up call and Kaes knew it.

His body was still in a static state, as even his jaw was locked in place. He tried to will his finger to move, but there wasn't a single movement. He tried this process two more times and the result was the same from before. He laid still and let his mind wander before coming back with another plan.

'Move your f****** finger, my n****.' That plan was to in essence, flood his mind with thoughts of pure will. He kept repeating the phrase until there was eventually a small twitch in his right pointer finger. He couldn't see the twitch, couldn't even feel the twitch, yet he could feel something wet flowing into, not onto, his finger.

It was odd to say the least, like it was something he shouldn't feel, but it left him with a sort of tingle inside of his finger. What felt even odder was he felt he could move his finger with ease now, like there was some unknown muscle with control over his finger. He could feel a connection to his finger that felt deeper than anything he had ever felt, like his finger would obey him in any form of capacity.

'MOVE' That one thought permeated his mind with peak level intensity, as his patience was gone and he just wanted this hell to end and go to sleep in that hotel comforter, or even on the ground as long as he didn't wake up still paralyzed.

Tap

There was a sound, a tap, just a mere tap, soft to anybody's ears, yet to Kaes' ears it was like a booming echo, its vibrations holed up in his ears. His eyes were going wide with surprise as he didn't believe it for a second, the sound was clear to the point he couldn't deny it was there.

He thought he was going insane; he couldn't believe what had just happened. He had willed his finger to move and it obeyed. He didn't want to jump to any conclusions as he willed his finger to move once again.

Tap

There was a short pause, his mind even with his higher intellect he still couldn't believe it. What he had done was…unnatural, hell everything that has happened in the last few minutes was nothing short of supernatural.

Tap

Once again another tap hit the floor, the vibrations once again buzzed in his ears. However this time he felt something different, however the feeling faded too quickly. A feeling of confusion ran through him as he once again willed his finger to move again.

Tap

The unknown feeling became much clearer to him and then he remembered what it was. The wet feeling, from earlier that he had forgotten about due to his shock that he could will his finger to move.

'Wait a second' Kaes thought. It crossed his mind for a second that maybe he wasn't willing his finger to move but the blood itself. After all, why would he be able to feel blood if he was just moving his finger.

So this time he wanted to try something different, instead of just willing his finger to move he wanted the blood inside his finger to move. He first tried willing the blood in his system to move, however nothing happened.

However once it came to his second try he could feel the blood just like from earlier, and then a sound flooded his ears once more.

Tap

A lot of thoughts came to his mind like why is this happening, how can he force the blood in his body to move. He kept trying to think of answers to this puzzle, and then a thought crossed his mind that this gift might be temporary.

In all honesty Kaes didn't know how to react, which was fair. He could wake up tomorrow and he would just go back to normal or they could dissapear at any second, leaving him paralyzed, only capable of moving his finger, for the rest of his life.

When that thought came Kaes could feel his heart palpating, not in fear but in nervousness. He didn't fear losing the ability to move his body just by willing it to move. He feared being paralyzed knowing that he would rather be put on the brink of death once more and never wake up. He didn't even realize it but he unconsciously used his gift to make his blood move.

Tap

Tap

Tap

He had rapid-fired taps just as a test to make sure he still had this ability, but he couldn't deny that the feeling between willing his blood to move directly felt very natural. After all this was the first time he had three taps back to back so far. He then so naturally as easily as breathing willed his blood to move.

Tap

He took a deep breath as he let the air fill his lungs, his body tensed up for a good second until he breathed out and his body and mind relaxed. His mind wandered and as he thought about this gift and deep down he was amazed, this was talked about but would never be considered as a possibility until years into the future, but right now it was him proving it possible, he slowly willed the blood in his finger to rise and then fall.

Tap

The sound he had gotten so used to over this last minute, filled his ear. It felt satisfying to hear, but also made him feel the need to rush the rest of his body to move. Kaes began to focus as he used his brain to formulate a plan, it took a second for him to compile all the data from earlier as he came back with an understanding.

Even though Kaes is not a biologist nor a doctor, he knows that blood is pretty much in every part of the body at all times, yet why was he only moving one finger and not his entire body. To him it felt simple now, and with how magical this all felt, saying it was simple felt like an understatement. To dumb it down the blood throughout the rest of his body was asleep and he needed to wake it up ASAP.

Just like before he was going to will his finger to move, then he would will his blood to move, sure the thought to just will his blood to move crossed his mind but he got rid of it just as quickly as it came, as he didn't want to risk getting rid of any step, because he didn't know the consequences of doing such. After all, would you press a random button in a desert not knowing what it could do?

All Kaes had to do now was-

Tap

That familar sound rang once again, surprising even Kaes, as his eyes showed confusion. 'What the hell.' His thoughts ran rampant trying to understand as he didn't even mean to move his finger.

First, he had to calm down.

'Did I lose control?' Kaes thought his rationale was coming back. 'Maybe?' Kaes wasn't aware of what happened but once his breathing was stable he noticed that he didn't feel blood in just one finger he could feel blood in now two of his fingers, more speciffically his index and middle fingers.

If Kaes could move his hand he would be scratching his head in confusion. The waking up process was much faster than the first finger, it had even reached the point that he didn't even realize he willed it to move. This development had undoubtedly shocked him, but it didn't take long for him to regain his focus.

Kaes wanted to capitalize on this new development as he willed the blood in his thumb to move and now with ease it seemed to obey.

Tap

Kaes' eyes focused as he was now locked in and was done expierementing. He willed the blood of both his ring and pinky fingers to move and they did just that.

Tap

Tap

'Good, good.' Kaes thought. He was excited at the idea of regaining control of his body. Keeping the momentum going he tried to move the blood in his hand to rise. However unexpectedly he was met with nothing, there was no blockage however the blood wouldn't move at his command.

'Okay not good what's wrong.' His thoughts caused him to think back and he had an idea.

'Maybe the reason the fingers were so easy to move was because of experience. It wasn't my first time moving them yet it's my first time moving my whole hand. Maybe this is the part that needs a wake up?' Kaes wasn't sure if he was right or wrong as right now he was just spitballing ideas, but it was better to try something than nothing.

The wake up call could be nothing less than short yet powerful bursts of will.

'MOVE. MOVE. MOVE YOUR F****** HAND!!' He screamed out in his head repeatedly, yet nothing happened, his hand wouldn't move nor could he feel any blood in his hand. Yet he could feel the blood in his fingers as willed them to hit the ground once more.

All of his fingers could still feel and move, but he still couldn't move his whole hand. "Mmmhh." He groaned at the loss of progress and even worse at the thought of this being as far as he would go in reclaiming his body.

Kaes was undoubtedly tired as his mental strength had been getting drained, to the point of complete exhaustion since he woke up and was having to still stay awake as he was on the verge of passing out. At this moment Kaes decided he had nothing left to lose as he had extremely low energy with a time limit on his consciousness, too much information to try to remember and still utilize, a perhaps temporary ability, add that with the potential chance of being paralyzed for the rest of his life, giving up was really no longer an option for Kaes.

Being a bum was fine he could still succeed in life even if he was crippled, even if he laid in bed all day, and his muscle athropied that was fine, but needing to be taken care off was something that he hated as it meant weakness, and if he ever had a chance he would do his best to make sure him being crippled never happened. Whether it meant fighting to the death or just straight up cold blooded murder, but only if it is necessary .

That will to fight for the limited time he could remain conscious seems to burst out of his body in a rush of adrenaline as he could hear his heart pumping with excitement, his eyes shrank as he focused for what he knew would be the last time today. He started sending bursts of will carrying his same sense of excitement and eagerness, it was less concentrated than the ones before as he didn't focus on a specific part of the body, but instead the body as a whole. He was calling out for a piece of his body that would respond just like before, to anybody who saw him they would only see the actions of a brain-dead lunatic. It was truly a desperate and undoubtedly stupid act but if you force a beast into a corner their only option is to fight, in any way possible.

It took almost 2 minutes until he finally got another feeling of connection to some blood, the feeling came from the part of his body furthest from his head, his feet, more specifically his big toe, and he curled it unconciously. It took Kaes a second to not just understand what happened, but to realize his mistake.

'F****** idiot!' His thoughts came for a second and then they were replaced with exhaustion as he didn't put into play the amount of blood each part of his body holds, and how much willpower it would take to move his bigger muscles. His eyes grew spotty and he could no longer see straight, and he started zoning out to the point where he was at the inbetween of consciousness and unconsciousness. His eyes closed and his breathing slowed down, he couldn't think, but he felt grateful towards the lack of pain and stress this gave, he always had.

Kaes no longer wanted to think anymore as his exhaustion got the best of him, as he slowly felt like he was drowning, he could feel all of his issues, his pain, his thoughts, and his memories fade away. He was fading away into a world that he knew all too well, one that submerges you in complete darkness.

'no…no' Kaes thought, he wasn't willing to drown, he wanted to try and fix his body. He wanted to resist the pull of something others call paradise, even he himself called it paradise, but right now he had s*** to do.

'Wake up…WAke Up… WAKE THE F*** UP." Kaes screamed as blood started rushing up into his head, giving his vulnerable brain a shock, as his eyes shot open, they no longer had any whites replaced completely with black as his pupils were now a blood red color.

Kaes could already feel his exhaustion creeping back up on him, so he was already on a time crunch, maybe 30 seconds max before he passed out again, so he focused his attention on willing his toes to curl. He barely managed to curl the second toe before he ended up passing out once more.

He was laid down blacked out on the floor going in and out of consciousness until he finally gained complete control of his digits, until suddenly his nails started to grow an inch as they became sharper and tougher. The process was completely painless, so Kaes didn't feel anything wrong, and just as he was on the verge of falling asleep once again, he felt something in his mouth, it was moving, like it was alive, unfortunately the stimuli wasn't enough to keep him awake. The darkness was once again trying to engulf his consciousness, but before he could resist like before, he was awoken by a sharp pain in his mouth, one that he recognized came from his canines. They were mercilessly pushing out of his gums as they oozed thick blood that ran down his throat.

'Muthaf****!!' Kaes thought in pain and anger as each second felt as long as a minute. The pain was unbearable especially upon his drained psyche, as he knew he wasn't going to pass out until this was over.

Tears of blood leaked from his black and red eyes due to the horrid pain and the worst part is he couldn't even open his mouth to scream and even if he could, what would he scream for, HELP, who can stop THIS, nobody could. Even if he had cried it wouldn't have sounded like a human it would have sounded like a beast desperate for help fighting for his life, probably anyone in a mile radius would have heard it.

Inside his mouth his canines which had started growing stopped but then they began to retract back into his gums at the same time, his nails returned to their normal size. But he couldn't feel nor understand, as his mind was no longer capable of processing information, his current state started barely a second ago, his body was spazzing out the damage done to his mind since all of this began was crippling, and as his mind felt like it was dying, Kaes couldn't stop the darkness' pull to his conciousness.
