Diamond and Emerald stepped into the clearing smiling as they took up their fighting stance. Emerald attacked first; her fist flying towards Diamond's face. Diamond easily dodged the attack and retaliated with a sweep at Emerald's legs. Emerald jumped up to dodge the attack but came crashing downwards with dark tentacles tightening her legs. Diamond tried to attack Emerald's head with a vicious heel; that was blocked by Emerald's palm. Diamond changed her attack as she tried to perform a roundhouse kick to knock down the now standing Emerald. Emerald sidestepped the attack and punched Diamond in the chest, Diamond gritted her teeth from the pain, and dodged a kick that Emerald had used as a follow up attack. A dark aura clothed Diamond's body masking her with ethereal darkness as she formed a dark whip in her hands. Emerald tasted the air and rolled out of the way seconds before a dark whip tore through the air. Diamond continued to use the whip; viciously lashing at Emerald and making her to go on the defensive. Emerald continued to dodge the lashes with serpentine movements as she waited for an opportunity to strike. "That's it" Emerald thought as she rushed towards Diamond, dodging a lash before she struck Diamond's armed hand with a vicious chop. The whip in Diamond's hand dissolved as she winced in pain. Diamond with a flick of her other wrist sent Emerald crashing down; as a dark tentacle wrapped around her leg and tripped her. "This should be the second time I'm falling down" Emerald reasoned as it occurred to her that she might need to fight a little dirty. More dark tentacles wrapped around Emerald's body holding her tightly to the ground. "You may now forfeit" Diamond said as she slowly formed a crude dark blade in her hand. Emerald simply sighed: "You forget that I haven't used my gift". Diamond eyes widened as she observed the slight purple rash on her right arm. Emerald laughed and then continued: "That poison is from a purple glass lizard, it slowly numbs the muscle of the affected area. So I think you will be the one to forfeit". "I don't need two hands to win this" Diamond retorted as she shifted the dark blade to her left hand."That's a bit harsh" Gale said out loud much to the annoyance of Emerald. "She doesn't look like she was bluffing" Boaruss added yawning as he looked forward to his own spar with Gale. Emerald placed her hand on the floor covering the clearing with green fumes. Diamond jumped back some meters as she held her breath to prevent herself from breathing in the dangerous fumes. Due to this the dark tentacles holding Emerald dissolved leaving her free.
Emerald ran after Diamond unleashing a variety of assaults as she closed the distance between them. "I guess you leave me no choice" Diamond said through coughs as she struggled to breathe due to the green fumes that were now spreading. "Hey you seem to forget about the spectators watching you! Gale shouted as he dispersed the fumes around the other squad members with light gusts of winds.
The rest of the squad members watched the battle with great interest as it seemed like Emerald had the match in the bag. Diamond dodged a palm strike from Emerald, and sidestepped another high kick from her opponent. Emerald on the other hand didn't seem to be affected by Diamond's blocks as she continued to perform ruthless strikes with killer efficiency.
Emerald summoning all her energy struck Diamond in the chest, sending her crashing to the floor. Diamond got back to her feet as she struggled to breathe with the green fumes slowly depriving her of air. The rest of the squad were already considering ending the sparring situation for fear of things going out of hand. Gale however believed that Diamond still had an ace up her sleeve and as such decided to let the match drag on a little.
Emerald was shocked to see that Diamond was still standing on her feet after that last attack. Diamond took advantage of this slight pause and attacked Emerald with a tentacle that appeared out of nowhere and was travelling towards Emerald with a frightening speed. Emerald narrowly dodged the attack, only for her to crash into the floor as a rock cloaked in black aura struck her in the chest with astonishing speed.
Emerald refused to give up and slowly got up standing on wobbling feet. Diamond also seemed to be weak as she watched Emerald with shock for she had already inwardly thought that Emerald would have been knocked out cold from that attack. "I knew I should have aimed for her head" Diamond mused as she observed her right hand that was now purple in color.
Gale waved the pocket watch at them signaling to them that their fight was over."Well done, you two have fought exceedingly well" Gale said smiling as he walked towards them. Emerald turned her head backwards and laughed: "That was a wonderful fight". "I agree" Diamond said smiling. Emerald gave Diamond the antidote to the purple glass lizard's poison as they both walked out of the clearing, the green fumes disappearing.Okuagu congratulated the two ladies on their fight as he started to complement their fighting styles. Lee simply commended their performance as he felt that the fight wasn't up to the expected thirty minutes. Boaruss wasn't seated among them for he was standing in the clearing waiting for his own match with Gale.Gale however didn't seem to be in a rush to fight as he slowly walked towards the messed up clearing. "Let's get this fight started! Boaruss yelled waving his fist in the air.
