The next day broke with all the squads and warriors assembling before the entrance of the labyrinth; each of them armed and stocked with weapons and necessary survival gear.
Klaus seemed to be in quite a joyous mood as he prepared to address everyone for the last time. "So without further ado warriors and hunters that are ready should please proceed to the cave if they wish to access the labyrinth" Klaus said his words being greeted by cheers from the many armored warriors and hunters around the area.
Like a great wave the many hunters and warriors entered the labyrinth which greeted them with a vast seemingly impenetrable darkness that swallowed all of them like a hungry beast. The Flaming tempest squad continued to move through the labyrinth with Okuagu leading the way as he lit the way with a small flame on his hand. After an hour or so of walking the squad stopped hearing the footsteps of the other warriors and hunters that had entered the labyrinth. All around them was a sort of eerie silence, which the squad considered strange for it had only been recently that they had entered the labyrinth with the rest of the other participants. The silence was soon enough broken by a series of loud screams that seemed to echo throughout the labyrinth. "STOP! Okuagu shouted as he halted in front of what seemed to be a deep gorge. Gale took a look over the gorge before he finally spoke up: "It seems we might have to climb down". "I agree" Okuagu added. "How deep do you think it is? Emerald asked as she finally understood the reasons for the earlier screams. Okuagu simply nodded before he conjured a fire ball and hurled it down the gorge while the squad watched from the edge as the ball of flame illuminated a good part of the gorge before it finally extinguished midway. From what they could see, the gorge was extremely deep with numerous caves located around the sides and numerous rocks which could serve as suitable holds. "It seems that there are numerous tunnels and paths in this damned labyrinth" Lee remarked. The others nodded as they had all came to the same realization. Okuagu still tried to search for other landmarks, lifeforms or even the other side of the gorge with 'Heat signature'. But alas the darkness still seemed to cut off all his senses preventing him and the other squad members from sensing anything beyond the apparently limitless gorge. "I think we must have made more progress due to Okuagu's gift for it seems that lighting of normal torches is close to impossible in this place and many squads may not have been able to find their way around due to that" Boaruss pointed out in response to what Lee had said earlier. "Regardless of that I'll advise we prepare for the climb down" Diamond said "That might not be possible right now" Gale said as he paced around obviously trying to think of something. Diamond with her eyebrows raised asked: "And why is that? Gale taking another look down the gorge sighed: "Well for one we have no idea the kind of threats that inhabit the many caves down the gorge and secondly we don't have any sort of climbing equipment which means we have to use our bare hands to climb down a seemingly limitless gorge". "Gale is right but still I am afraid we might have to take that risk" Lee added with a smile. Gale continued to pace around while the others tried to think of any other alternative way without results. Boaruss finally broke the silence with his deep voice "I think we will just have to wing it, we can always rest in the numerous caves around the gorge. And who knows maybe one of the caves might be a route to the bottom". The rest of the squad agreed with the plan and decided to begin the climb down. The squad had undergone the climb with a rather peculiar formation. Each member of the squad was connected to each other by a dark tentacle (courtesy of Diamond) that wrapped them around the waist connecting them to each other. At both ends of the chain was Boaruss and Okuagu who were meant to provide a sort of anchor for the squad. And just like that the Flaming Tempest began their arduous climb down the gorge.
