The squad continued on their journey through the mysterious cave. Though Boaruss suggested that they should all leave and continue the climb down the gorge. Lee as usual in his calm demeanor dismissed Boaruss worries for he explained to them that labyrinths didn't work like normal terrains and practically all the tunnels, caves and pathways in a twisted way must lead to the heart of the labyrinth. Currently the squad were in a stunning part of the cave that had more flowers and a few pools of water. Okuagu looked around before he spoke in a whisper: "Something or rather someone is watching us". Emerald tasted the air before she nodded in confirmation to what Okuagu had said. "It's in the water" Lee added as he slowly drew the twin blades that were strapped to his side. The rest of the squad took up their battle position as they observed a slight disturbance in the river. A small blue creature emerged from the river dressed in a small white cloak; with a white staff in hand. The creature stroked its white beard before it spoke in its trembling voice: "Humans you have nothing to fear, for I am only a hermit in this forgotten lands". The whole squad dismissed the creature's speech as they still stood with their weapons raised, ready for battle. "So what exactly are you? Gale asked warily. "I am an imp who has spent his entire life in this labyrinths" the creature replied as it walked on to the land. Lee on hearing this frowned: "I've never heard of an aquatic imp". "Oh that, well I have a water gift" the imp added. Gale sheathed his sabre before he continued: "You say you have spent your entire life in this labyrinth. So that means you know the way to the heart right? The imp didn't respond for some time as though it was lost in thought before it finally answered: "Well I do know the way to the heart, but I must warn you it is quite perilous for even I barely managed to survive the last time I went there". "So what are we waiting for? Why don't you give us some directions" Boaruss said in annoyance for he was getting tired of the recent discussions. The imp looked around as if to make sure of something before it spoke in a rather serious tone: "I will need you humans to do something for me first". On hearing this Diamond burst into laughter: "What makes you think that we can trust you, after all you might just be another dangerous beast that is trying to deceive us". The imp looked at Diamond directly in the eye and smiled: "Well for one I can't even conjure up a decent water ball not to talk about killing some humans. Secondly you guys need me alive to get out of here for I can assure you that no human without help can stumble upon the 'heart' of the labyrinth". "Very well state your request" Gale said dejectedly, knowing that the Imp was in a way right. "I need you humans to help me free some of my folks that are being held hostage by some monstrous trolls" The imp said with a nervous smile implanted on its face. "After you are done with this I will personally guide you to the heart" added the imp. "So where are the trolls holding your people captive" Okuagu asked the smiling imp. The imp with a frown sighed: "The last time I saw the trolls was in some caves far north of here". "Do you have any item that belonged to them? Asked Lee. "Oh come to think of it I actually do, just give me one second" replied the imp who dove into the pool he had recently come out from. After making sure that the Imp was well under the water Boaruss spoke up "Do you think we should trust him? "I don't see why not" Emerald said with a shrug of her shoulders. "He might be our only ticket out of here" Okuagu added. "Still we will have to keep up our guard" Gale said glancing at the calm pool. The imp emerged from the pool with a rather funny looking miniature sock. "Can you track the scent? Boaruss asked Okuagu who was currently holding his nose. "Yeah it's a little bit fresh" Okuagu said as he took a sniff of the sock. "Will you be here when we are done with the rescue? Gale asked the now sitting Imp. "No I will be at the Dragon's spine" The imp replied before it continued, on noticing the confused looks on the squad member's faces "It's a massive skeleton that belonged to the former guardian of the labyrinth, trust me you can't miss it. Mind you that is also the location we will start from. "Alright take care I must go and check on the remaining of my tribe's people, I shall be there in order to wait for you". And like that the Imp bade the squad members goodbye as he proceeded southwards. The squad headed northwards as Okuagu led the way in their search for the other imps.
