Okuagu wrapped a bandage around Lee's hand before he and Emerald went outside to meet with the village's chief. While the squad were battling it out with the komodo, Emerald and Okuagu were on their way to the village to find a healer for Okuagu's wounds. However, Okuagu much to Emerald's displeasure insisted on them going back to help. As expected a heated argument ensued that was eventually resolved by Okuagu promising to only unleash a single attack. Their plan was simple: Okuagu's spear was to be covered in fire and Emerald's poison; a mixture that surprisingly worked. The rest of the plan depended on what strength Okuagu could muster to throw the spear at the komodo, and the right opportunity to execute this plan. Luckily everything worked out fine, with them emerging victorious over the S rank. The other squad members eventually recovered from the poison, though only Boaruss and Lee had the most severe of wounds. Currently the entire squad were resting at the village, waiting for their injuries to heal before they journey back to Lionsdale. "In total chief we have slayed; two B rank, one A rank, one S rank along with countless D and C ranked komodos" Emerald said with a smile. "Your people can rest well, at least for a while" added Okuagu. "I am deeply grateful, if only I could help you guys with more than accommodation and herbs" The chief said shaking their hands fervently. "Don't sweat it sir, all we need is a good report from you to the hunter's lodge" Gale butted in as he unceremoniously stepped into the cabin. "Oh shorty you are awake" laughed Okuagu. "I will do that and personally make sure your squad are handsomely rewarded" chuckled the chief. "We will be heading back to Lionsdale the day after tomorrow" Gale said and after some pleasantries they left the chief's cabin. The whole squad assembled at the village tavern each of them wearing some degrees of bandages with stitches on Okuagu, Lee and Boaruss's body. "Cheers! Gale said his mug raised for a toast. A sound of glass shattering was accompanied by the clashing of the mugs. "Oops" Okuagu said observing the shards of glass littered everywhere. "You are paying for that" Gale said as he gestured for the tavern's maid. A young lady with red hair approached the table wearing a frustrated look. "We'll have six mugs of ale" Gale said with a smile. "Five and a mug of water" interrupted Okuagu as he offered an orange gem to the now amused tavern maid for all the trouble. "What? Okuagu asked falling under many surprised gazes. "We'll discuss about your bad spending habits later" Diamond said. "Also what sort of person drinks water at a tavern" Emerald added taking a sip from her mug. "One who plans to live long" replied Okuagu. "Now we are all here to celebrate and relax" Gale said with a cheerful smile. The rest of the day was spent with them talking, drinking (save for Okuagu) and playing as they put their harrowing hunt behind them. The climax of the day was a treasure hunt organized by Gale. "Like I said the treasure is hidden somewhere in the village" Gale said. "Can't you spare us at least a riddle? Boaruss asked yawning out of apparent boredom. "Sure. It is hidden in a place where sunlight and shadows meet" Gale said; a mischievous smile forming on his face. "What's the treasure? Asked Diamond. "Just a little something from my old assassin savings" Gale replied walking away towards the tavern. The squad after that scattered each of them running to where they perceived the treasure lay. "Sunlight and shadows meeting? Thought Okuagu with a frown. "Yes I get it. It must be hidden in the inn" Okuagu said out loud for it seemed to him that the sunlight referred to the brand of ale while the shadows must have been shadow of the ale bottles at the drinks cabinet. His thoughts were however interrupted by a triumphant roar from Boaruss who was making his way towards the Inn. "Oh no you don't" Okuagu reasoned as he ran towards the tavern like a fast moving streak of flame. "No" Boaruss shouted as Okuagu ran past him towards the bar stand. "I don't think so" smiled Boaruss as an earth pillar from the floor smashed Okuagu against the wall. "It's all MINE! Boaruss shouted as he raised the entire wine shelf to the dismay of the tavern maid. Boaruss frowned in visible anger as he found nothing behind the counter. Okuagu brushed his body from dust, shocked at Boaruss's saddening find. "So where is it? Okuagu and Boaruss asked in unison.
"You idiots! While you were busy ransacking this tavern, your squad leader is busy preparing for the night" the red haired maid said before she broke a broom on Boaruss's head. "Anyways your short friend said I should give you this" the maid said handing them a note. Okuagu and Boaruss looked at the note fury written all over their faces. The note read thus:"If you are reading this note, it means you are the most adventurous and naïve members of the squad. There is no treasure save for the feeling of foolishness you must be feeling right now. How I wish I could see the look on your faces. Oh well, to which ever squad member that is reading this note: while you are busy hunting for treasure I will be hunting for ladies. Though the annoying Tavern maid turned me down, whatever they are many fishes in the sea after all. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha! I fooled you."Forever Handsome GALE…. "That midget just dug his own grave" growled Okuagu. "I honestly agree" Boaruss added with a crack of his knuckles. "I can't believe those two fell for it" Diamond said laughing hard. "What I can't believe is how you gave us a fake game so that you could go match making" Emerald added with a smile. "I will advise you sleep in a bush until we get on the road" Lee said with a sigh.
"Run! Emerald shouted as a flaming silhouette rushed into the tavern. Gale with a shriek took to his heels narrowly dodging a boulder that crashed into the ground. "Do you think he will escape? Emerald asked. "Nope" replied Lee and Diamond as they watched the ongoing chase with amusement. The night ended with loud pleas of begging and smashing noises travelling through the village.Morning arrived with Gale hanging from a tree tied by strong chains, his body covered in slight bruises. Gale looked around and shrugged "Perhaps I should have left the excessive "HA's" out from the note".
