Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Poor Catwoman

Selena Kyle, with her messy skirt and wet hair, no longer exuded the graceful aura she usually carried. She stared at Su Sheng for a long time, clearly frustrated, before finally speaking with a touch of desperation. "Software that can wipe out criminal records. It's something I've always wanted."

"Su Sheng, help me just this once." Selena Kyle pleaded with him, her voice softening. "Give me what you took, and I'll owe you a favor."

"Are you sure something like that even exists?" Su Sheng asked, his tone skeptical.

Selena Kyle's eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope, and she quickly nodded. "I've heard rumors, and I've been searching for it for a while. I didn't find anything before, but this time is different. Wayne Enterprises must have it, otherwise, Miranda Tate wouldn't have approached me for a deal. Please, help me this time."

Her pitiful plea, like a kitten abandoned in the rain, might have moved someone else. But Su Sheng was unmoved. He shook his head firmly. "It hasn't served its purpose yet, so I won't give it to you. However..."

Selena Kyle, who had started to lose hope, quickly looked up, her eyes filled with anticipation as she waited for him to continue. Su Sheng motioned for her to come closer.

Hesitant but curious, Selena Kyle approached him and crouched down as he gestured.

With a swift motion, Su Sheng flicked her forehead.

Snap!

The sharp sound echoed in the room as Selena Kyle yelped in surprise and fell backward, her forehead reddening instantly.

"What was that for?" Selena Kyle shouted, rubbing her forehead.

"Are you stupid?" Su Sheng snapped back, his tone harsh. "If she really had that software, I would just ask for it. Why bother giving her back anything she wants?"

Selena Kyle blinked in surprise, realizing the truth in his words. She wasn't really helping Miranda Tate; she just needed to get the software. With this new perspective, Selena Kyle stared at Su Sheng, hope rekindled in her eyes.

"Help me with something, and I'll help clear your record once it's done," Su Sheng offered.

"Name it."

"First, you need to meet someone." Su Sheng got up, grabbed a bag, and headed out the door. Selena Kyle hurried to follow him.

As they walked through the city streets, Selena Kyle attracted a lot of attention. After all, it wasn't every day you saw such a tall and beautiful woman walking around in such a disheveled state. But she endured it all for the sake of her goal.

After about half an hour of walking, they arrived at an apartment building. Su Sheng led her upstairs and knocked on the door of one of the units.

Bang bang bang!

The door opened shortly after the knock, revealing Laurel, who looked surprised to see the unfamiliar woman next to Su Sheng. The woman was tall, beautiful, and clearly embarrassed.

"Who is she?" Laurel asked, looking at Su Sheng.

"Selena Kyle, your new teacher," Su Sheng said casually as he entered.

"New teacher?"

Both Laurel and Selena Kyle stared at Su Sheng in surprise as he walked over to the sofa, set down the bag, and continued speaking. "In this bag are your uniform and some basic equipment. For the time being, you'll continue to train and improve your combat skills under Selena Kyle's guidance."

"Selena Kyle, I'll give you what you want when you've trained her well."

"To what level?" Selena Kyle asked, frowning slightly.

"At least good enough that she can hold her own in a fight and can go on missions alone."

Selena Kyle fell silent, considering the proposal. Laurel, on the other hand, couldn't help but ask, "What about you? Are you not going to teach me anymore?"

"Do you have Stockholm syndrome?" Su Sheng glanced at Laurel before standing up. "I've got something interesting to handle. I'll be back once you've completed your training."

"Good luck, you two."

As Su Sheng walked between Laurel and Selena Kyle toward the door, he cheekily smacked both of their butts with his hands before leaving.

Laurel and Selena Kyle exchanged awkward glances as the tension in the room grew.

Despite the rough treatment Selena Kyle received from Su Sheng, her ability to teach Laurel was undeniable. Meanwhile, Su Sheng took advantage of this time to focus on training Helena. With Frank's permission, Su Sheng made his way to Helena's room without any interference from the bodyguards.

The night passed, and by morning, Helena seemed to have come to terms with everything. She chatted and laughed with Su Sheng as if nothing had happened the previous day. Su Sheng was pleased with her attitude—if she had become hopeless or numb, it would have been boring.

Su Sheng asked her to show him the evidence she had gathered so far. Although it was substantial, it wasn't enough to bring down her father, especially considering Frank's influence in Starling City.

"As long as my father takes you along to deal with his rivals, I'll have a chance to gather direct evidence. But he won't easily bring me to the scene," Helena explained, looking at Su Sheng expectantly.

Su Sheng chuckled. "I'm not going to help you gather evidence. I'm only here to create opportunities for you."

"That's enough," Helena replied firmly. "If they believe I'm not Frank Bertinelli's daughter but your woman, no one will care if I'm there with you. So... do you have any tricks you want to try?"
