"Rejoice, great Olympus. And be glad mighty Atlantis for the time is near. The time of salvation and redemption. Do not be anxious and fear not for he has arisen. The chosen blood is born. The one to deliver you from the shackles of death and disease. The protector of your lives. The one your faith has to be placed on. Be prepared, the new era is soon. The era of the Messiah!"

"Slow down, slow down. I can't run anymore. I am tired." He said, catching his breath as he rest his back against the tree behind him with his hands on his thighs.
He has been running for hours and now he has lack the energy to even move a muscle. He could feel the excruciating pain across his body as he tries to seat on the ground.
"We don't have time for this. We have to keep moving if you don't want to die, okay? Now please get up so we can leave. If we don't, know that those creatures would never leave us and they will kill the both of us."
Quincy turned to look at the scarlet haired girl, "I can't run anymore. I already told you I am tired and before you even ask me to keep moving, why don't you first tell me about those creatures. I don't remember offending any freak show."
For the first time in his odd eighteen years of his life, Quincy is overwhelmed by confusion. All he wanted to do was go camping with his friend when suddenly, they were attacked by some sort of creature. He doesn't even think if that would be a creature, maybe it was a monster.
"How do you even know where to find me and what are you doing in the woods anyways?" Quincy asks the scarlet haired girl who silently pursed her lips, letting a moment of silence to reign between them.
The young boy wasn't aware but she knows her obligations to him and telling him now would be inappropriate so she just have to wait for the perfect moment. And since the situation they have gotten into wouldn't be considered as ideal, she just have to ask him to keep moving or the both of them might end up dead.
"Leave the questions for another day Quincy. Right now, we just have to get away from here." The scarlet haired girl replies, earning a skeptical look from Quincy.
"Okay whatever is going on, you have to spill it now or I promise that I am going to stay put and not move an inch with you." Quincy threatened, his face evident with a knot that form on his brows.
He sure as hell is not going to rise up his butt if he doesn't get a satisfactory explanation from her. So it is either she answers him honestly or they both die, either way, Quincy is pretty sure that his life is screwed.
Heaving a long sigh, the girl begins to explain, "Quincy, those creatures who sought your life are messengers of death sent by your rival to the throne."
Throne? Rival? Surely, this girl doesn't know what she is talking about. He is an eighteen years old boy living with his mum in a small house and he could barely make his way around college without the spite or scornful words of those around him. This treatment definitely does not reckon that he is some kind of royalty and sincerely speaking, he had a reputation that sees to the fact that he doesn't have someone to compete with.
Who would want to compete with a nerd anyways?!
The scarlet haired girl noticed the twisted expression on Quincy's face so she opens her mouth to explain further, "Long before humanity was the gods who made sure that balance was maintained in the universe. However, something caused the gods to disappear and they had to communicate with the mortals on the earthly plane by means of certain vessels called an oracle."
Sitting next to Quincy, she tries to make herself comfortable as she continues,"Several years ago, there was a prophecy about a certain Messiah by an oracle. Someone who would be born as a means of bringing salvation to the people by the gods. This person is known to be the chosen blood."
The girl gave Quincy a knowing look which caused his heart to skip a beat.
"Me? Do you mean that I am this Messiah of a blood or whatever chosen stuff you just said. I don't even believe in the gods neither do I believe in their stories or myth that revolves around them."
"That is where you are wrong Quincy." The girl said, shaking her head, "The gods really do exist but their existence has to remain hidden from the eyes of the mortals. You have been chosen by them as a means to the earthly plane. It is your responsibility."
"Responsibility?! I don't even know what that word means. All I know is that I am not going to be use as a tool by the celestials to bring upon humans a redemption. In fact everything you just said means nothing and I will make sure it stays as nothing."
"You should know Quincy, destiny doesn't require your permission to be fulfilled. It only require your cooperation to be fulfilled faster." The girl says as she stood along with Quincy.
"And what is that suppose to mean?" A brow was raised as Quincy ask the question in confusion.
"It means The Fates has written it and the gods approved. Now it is upon you to fulfill your role as the Messiah." The girl spoke. Affirmation and seriousness etched in her tone.
Quincy was about to speak again when the sound of the rustling of the trees violently filled their ears.
"They are here. Run!"
And with that, the run of survival started over again as the duo quickly departed into the thick forest of the woods without looking back.
