Chapter 10 - PreHistoric - 1

**POV - NARRATOR**

**LOCATION - PREHISTORIC EARTH**

In a cave during this period, two confused individuals looked around. They didn't belong to that time or planet.

As they watched a portal closing behind them, we were taken to Gallifrey, at least 250 million light-years away from Earth and probably far into the future as well.

Returning to them, it's possible to see them talking to each other.

"■■■■■■, what have we gotten ourselves into now? Where are we!?"

The other looks around and responds, "I don't know, Graiger, but I know we're screwed, really screwed."

**------------SCENE BREAK----------**

One week before they fell to prehistoric Earth.

**POV - ■■■■■■**

**LOCATION - GRAIGER'S HOUSE**

"So, when are we going to explore? Have you finished analyzing your prototypes?" I ask Graiger. We are in the workshop that he set up with his father's permission, looking at two small weapons.

"Probably in a week, since you're going to help me finish these prototypes," he replies, holding up the two small weapons.

'They're small guns that shoot lasers and can only fire 10 times before overheating and needing time to recharge again,' I think before telling Graiger, "But aren't they good enough to prototype? And don't we already have enough laser guns on Gallifrey, why are you making more?"

"We do, but I want to create my design and software, I don't want copies of the others. Besides, we need to improve them in case things get really dangerous," Graiger says excitedly.

"Okay, okay, I'll help."

After that, we began studying how we could improve these weapons.

"Graiger, come eat and bring your friend along," we hear a voice coming from one of the devices attached to the workshop; it's Graiger's mother calling us.

"Let's go, ■■■■■■. You know she doesn't like it when we're late for meals," Graiger pats my shoulder and calls me.

I nod and follow him. As we exit, we see his father's spaceship garage. After turning a corner, we see a white door and enter Graiger's house.

Upon entering, we head straight for the dining room, which is similar to the one in the Lungbarrow House, with a large table for the entire Heartshaven family. 'Since the Heartshaven House can only have 45 cousins living there.'

"Hello, Mrs. Heartshaven," I greet her and sit down next to Graiger.

"Hello, ■■■■■■. I hope Graiger isn't causing you any trouble," Mrs. Heartshaven says with a smile.

Hearing this, Graiger looks embarrassed and responds, "Mom, I'm not causing any trouble, and ■■■■■■ doesn't need to take care of me; he's worse than I am."

"No, ma'am, he hasn't caused any trouble," I ignore Graiger's words and reply.

"Good, ■■■■■■, take care of him; he's not easy to deal with," Mrs. Heartshaven says with a smile.

Seeing that no one paid attention to him, Graiger remains silent with an embarrassed expression.

Soon after, the door opens and Graiger's father, Mr. Heartshaven, enters. 'It seems he arrived early today; maybe because classes ended last week, he has some time off. He is the leader of the Heartshaven House and a professor in the Patrexes Chapter since those who belong to a Chapter cannot teach in the same Chapter.'

"Hello, Graiger, ■■■■■■," he greets us as he enters, heading towards his wife, whom he kisses before sitting at the table.

'Time Lords can use kitchen robots to cook for them, but Mrs. Heartshaven and Gilia enjoy cooking, so they never bought one of those robots.'

"So, what are you going to do this week? Nothing too dangerous like your last adventures, I hope," Mr. Heartshaven comments.

"No, Dad. This week we're working on my prototype, our prototype now, because ■■■■■■ said he would help me with it," Graiger responds.

With that, Mr. Heartshaven looks at me, and I nod in agreement.

"Good, but take this. It's a temporal tracker; it can locate you anywhere in time and space if you press this button. I hope you won't need to use it in the future. it was very expensive, but after your last near-death and regeneration adventures, it's better to have this," Graiger's father hands us a square device, a white cube with a red button on top.

"Thanks, Dad, we won't get into any trouble," Graiger says with a confident smile.

"The signal travels through time and space to another cube that's in my office. The creator said it has a flaw: the farther away you are, the longer it takes for the signal to reach. He calculated that for every 125 million light-years, it takes five days for the signal to reach Gallifrey, but since you won't be leaving Gallifrey, this flaw doesn't need to be mentioned, right?" Graiger's father smiles and starts eating.

"Yes," this time, I respond.

**------------SCENE BREAK-----------**

Three hours before they fell into the portal.

**POV - ■■■■■■**

"So, is everything ready? We should be gone for at least two days exploring the forests and rivers of Gallifrey," I ask Graiger, who is in front of me.

"Yes, I packed plenty of food in the spatial bag; it should last about two months," Graiger replies.

"Two months!? Isn't that overkill? I only packed enough for two days in mine," I say, surprised, looking at Graiger's bag.

"Yes, it's better to be safe than sorry. What if something delays us there? I'll be prepared," Graiger says, placing everything inside the small ship we use.

"Okay, you're right," I say with a smile.

"I also packed the signal beacon and the time and space identifier," Graiger mentions.

"I also brought an identifier, but mine is the Z-4B16F model, which can identify species," I say, showing the small device and pointing it at Graiger.

"DNA not recognized, out of the database," the device responds.

"Interesting, they left the Time Lords out of the identifier. Very smart," I comment.

"Yeah, I think it's to prevent someone from stealing it and trying to analyze our DNA," Graiger suggests.

"Yes, we're talking too much. Let's go," I say, boarding the ship, and Graiger follows shortly after.

**------------SCENE BREAK----------**

**POV - ■■■■■■**

"So, where are we going now, ■■■■■■?" Graiger asks.

I'm piloting the ship through a narrow passage near Mount Lung. "I think we can check out that cave where the Vortisaur came out last time."

"Yeah, good idea. The Lethe River is close by, and I heard there's a marine animal there that hasn't been identified yet," Graiger responds.

"Let's go, then."

When we arrive at the cave's entrance, we see a bright light coming from inside. "What could that be?" Graiger asks.

"I don't know, let's take a look," I respond.

As we get closer, we see an open portal that seems to vibrate with the wind. When we approach, we are sucked inside.

After falling, I look around, and Graiger begins to speak.

"■■■■■■, what have we gotten ourselves into now? Where are we!?" Graiger asks.

"I don't know, Graiger, but I know we're screwed, really screwed," I respond in panic.

Graiger takes out the identifier and points it down, then up. The identifier speaks:

"Location: EARTH.

Time: 70 million years in the past. 5 million years before the extinction of the dinosaurs.

The period is known as the Cretaceous."

Hearing this, I realize we are extremely far from home. "Graiger, we are in extreme danger here."

=================

Author's Note: I know it was sudden, but this idea popped into my head, so I wrote it down. When you reach the end, let me know if it was good or not. I had other ideas, but it was too early, and Traveler was too young for what I was planning. So, this idea of two "kids" lost in the Cretaceous period on Earth came to mind. There's a surprise in the middle, but only in the next chapter (Spoilers).

Author's Note: I know the reason for the tracker and how they ended up on Earth seems forced, but I couldn't think of another way for the Time Lords to find them without using the Matrix (I have plans for it) or how they would end up on Earth without a TARDIS.
