"That is... that is incredible," the scientist in a lab coat, whom Lastra called Gristrax, finally admits, almost in shock.

"No, no, no," Graiger says as he sees the device starting to break.
"It worked for its purpose, but I think we did something wrong with the electromagnetic pulses," I say.
"Yes, you're right; we have to rebuild it and maybe lower the power to match the frequency," Graiger says, upset that the first device broke.
"Do you have another Cyberman?" I ask Lastra, who is quietly watching us.
"Yes," she responds quickly and goes to communicate to bring another one.
"So, will this take longer?" Lastra asks with a hint of disappointment.
"No, I said it would take at least a few days. This was expected, but we didn't think the Cybermen would be so much stronger now to cause such a big overload," I say, analyzing the device. 'How did these Cybermen become stronger? Maybe it has to do with Dalekanium? Or maybe it's due to the biology of the Silurians?' I think, intrigued because their armor is a bit stronger than what is typical for a Cyberman.
As Graiger and I analyze the remains of the broken device, something feels off. I notice a subtle glow in some of the fragments of the destroyed Cyberman. I move closer and notice traces of a material I don't immediately recognize.
"Ross, look at this," I say, pointing to the glow on the fragments. "This looks different from anything we've seen before."
Graiger approaches, studying the fragment closely. "Yes, this isn't Dalekanium... It looks like some kind of hybrid alloy, maybe an experiment by the Cybermen to adapt their technologies to Silurian biology and their weapons."
"If they are adapting, we can use this to our advantage," I say, picking up one of the fragments and placing it under an improvised scanner used to analyze the metals that make up the Cybermen. "If we can understand how this alloy works, maybe we can create a device that not only overloads their systems but also causes them to self-destruct."
Lastra approaches, observing our conversation. "You seem excited. Is that good or bad? Will it take longer for the device to be ready?"
"It's great," I reply with a smile. "If we can adjust the device to interact specifically with this alloy, we could have a weapon that is not only effective but devastating for the Cybermen. Since they created a weakness for themselves, if it was their previous armor, it would be harder to destroy," I say.
"But it will take more time," Graiger adds. "And we need to test it at different frequencies to make sure it works on all types of Cybermen made with this metal."
"Okay, some will be left over, as the older ones, who use the previous metal, won't be affected by the device, and you'll have to kill them with your weapons," I add afterward.
Lastra seems to consider our words. "You will have the necessary time, and we will take care of those left over, but be aware that the patience of our council is limited. If they don't see results soon, they will start threatening to replace me, and I won't be able to guarantee your safety."
"Understood, ma'am. Our council isn't very patient either. I remember when we went to one of their meetings, and they seemed like nervous old men," I say, turning my attention back to the work.
"Yes, they were annoying," Ross adds, tinkering with the device.
--------**POV SHIFT**-----------
**POV - LASTRA**
I watch the two Time Lords at work. They have a contagious energy and an almost obsessive focus on their goals. For the first time in a long while, I feel a spark of hope. Maybe these boys really can help us.
'But something bothers me. I still don't fully understand their motivations. Why are they so willing to help? And why don't they show any fear, even in such a dangerous situation? Could they really be spies? I hope not,' I think, somewhat insecure.
"Lady Lastra," Gristrax approaches me, speaking in a low voice. "Should we trust them? They are... strange."
"I know," I reply, keeping my eyes fixed on the two. "But for now, they are our best chance. And I'm not going to waste it."
Gristrax nods, but I can see he still has his doubts. I have mine too, but I can't let them dominate me. Not now.
"Let's focus on the work," I order, turning my attention back to the two Time Lords. "Keep going. I want to see this device working."
"So why are you so sure your people will come to rescue you?" I ask, trying to get some information.
"As I mentioned before, I'm protected by someone powerful on our planet, and Ross here is an heir to a leader of one of the most powerful houses on our planet," Braz says, looking at the device.
"Could you reveal less information?" Ross reprimands Braz.
"Okay, sorry, but this doesn't affect our situation much," Braz says, rolling his eyes.
"So, since you're 48 years old, how do you live so long?" I ask, recalling that he mentioned something about regeneration. 'It must be important since he changed the subject.'
"We have two hearts, so we live very well," Braz says with a mischievous smile, seeing once again everyone in the room with shocked faces.
---------**POV SHIFT**---------
**POV - ■■■■■**
"Two hearts?!" Lastra says, astonished.
"Yes, you were quite negligent with us. You didn't even examine our bodies properly," Graiger says with a smile for the first time that isn't about the device. 'It seems he's starting to relax around the Silurians.'
"So you live for centuries, have two hearts, and can control stars... that's a lot to absorb in one day," Gristrax says, putting a hand on his head.
"So, Ross, how many do you think will come to our rescue? Want to make a bet?" I say with a grin.
"I bet on less than 30 ships since the Castellan protects you," Graiger says.
"I bet on more than 30 then," I say, fitting a screw.
-----------SCENE BREAK-----------
**POV - NARRATOR**
It has been seven days since they started assembling the device. The room they are in is full of destroyed, exploded Cybermen's bodies or missing parts.
One of the High Council members came personally to see the device they were making; they received daily updates from Lastra. ■■■■■ became suspicious but thought he was overthinking.
"So, will it work? Will it destroy all the Cybermen with the material you mentioned?" Lastra asks ■■■■■.
"In theory, it's ready, but we're not sure yet. In the last test, it didn't show any defects," ■■■■■■ tells Lastra.
"It will, but if you want to destroy them all at once, it has to be connected to their general processors, where the Cybermen's central control is. Otherwise, you will have to use the device's energy, and I fear the risk of it breaking. It would take us another two days to complete another one," Graiger says.
"What!? Do we need to invade their central base? Why wasn't I informed beforehand that to destroy them all, there would need to be an invasion?" Lastra says, indignant.
"Did you think it would be a mobile device with infinite energy? With the technology you have here, it's quite difficult to make something that can periodically destroy the Cybermen," Graiger says, rolling his eyes.
"Okay, then you will have to accompany us when the invasion happens since you two made the device, and we want to ensure our men don't fail to activate it," Lastra says with a serious look.
