The Cyborg And His Darling

True love, is a statement so often used in the media but once you take a closer look at your celeb crush all that is portrayed is divorce, child support, and alimony. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, as there are exceptions to any rule but they are so few that they often go overlooked. So forgive me for being the skeptic. I used to believe that love was conditional, something that had to be earned. Examples come to mind of a childhood where your love is directly proportionate to the tasks you do for a parent. I remember when they used to vent to me about their problems, even as a young child and if I came up with an idea about how to fix it or could even solve it then they would love me. This never lasted too long. Another example would be when you have a significant other who will only show affection when you have offered your time or health for their benefit. You then mistake the acts you perform as directly correlated to being loved. The more you do and the quicker, the more you are loved. Don't be misled, this takes a toll on your mental health too. I have been called crazy my entire life and maybe that isn't such an insult as most people would have you believe. The same people who insult and call you crazy nine times out of ten have had something to do with it. Unless of course, you meet a stranger and or have a mental problem, not the same thing. I never believed that I could be loved just for being me, that is until I met a cyborg.
