Chapter 54 - Echoes of forgotten pains (2)

Jade's POV

"Oh my God!" I grunted. A searing pain shot through my temples, as I clutched my head. It was as if someone had hit my skull with a hammer. My head banged.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to shut down the agony that was ripping through my head.

"What is happening to me? Why the sudden feeling of pain?" I mumbled under my breath.

"Jade? What is it? Are you okay?" I heard Andrew ask me but his voice sounded distant, muffled, as if I were underwater.

I wanted to respond, to tell him I was fine, but the words wouldn't come out of my mouth. It was as if something had gotten a hold of my tongue, it felt restricted and I thought I would hurt it if I try to talk. So, Instead of my tongue to produce words, blurry images flashed behind my closed eyelids - dark shadows, a musty smell, fear, pain... But they had disappeared as quickly as they appeared, leaving me totally confused.

"What are those images?" I wondered inwardly.
