Jade's POV
"Uhhh... " I grunted lowly and wiped my sweaty palms on my clothed thighs.
The car ride back to the city was tense, filled with an uncomfortable silence that I couldn't quite understand.
Andrew's knuckles had turned white as he kept gripping the steering wheel, with his jaw clenched tightly. I stole glances at him, trying to make out the emotions playing across his face, but it was a futile endeavor. He wasn't giving much away.
My guts told me something was definitely not right. Of course, I was pretty shaken by the break-in but Andrew's reaction seemed quite excessive, like it was more than a mere break-in.
"What are on those notes he pocketed? Petty thieves won't drop notes, would they? More so, it doesn't look like anything was stolen. At least, my phone and purse weren't taken and they were carelessly laying on the bed." I analyzed in my mind.
