Jade's POV
"Mom, that's enough. You can stop acting now. Nobody is here with us." I told my mother, firmly and struggled to get out of her hold.
"You brat!" She scoffed and I heaved a sigh of relief that she had finally dropped the act.
Instead of letting me out of her hold, she removed her hands from my body and they went to grip my shoulders while her body moved away from mine, a bit. So, she could look at my face.
"What have you been up to?" She asked me, a scowl on her face.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." I told her, wanting nothing but to be let out of her hold.
She tightened her grip on my shoulders.
"Nothing, yet you ran away from home? Don't try to play smart with me, young lady. I saw how tensed Andrew is, he won't even acknowledge my presence, have you told him anything?" She half yelled at me, her eyes turning red. But I could still see an undertone of fear and uncertainty in her angry eyes.
