Chapter 21 - Genghis Khan

At this moment, in Mongolia - a small country. Here, "small" refers to their strength, not their land area, as their territory is vast.

However, despite their large land area, they are surrounded on both the north and south. In the north, they are bordered by Russia, and in the south, by China.

Moreover, they are incredibly far from the sea, and it can be said, in a rather harsh manner, that they have almost no chance of returning to their former glory.

What glory? Naturally, the glory of the Mongol Empire, which once conquered the world and ruled as the hegemon of an era.

Though they are now but a shadow of their peak era, in the hearts of the people, who wouldn't feel proud of such a glorious past? National pride is something that exists everywhere in the world.

At this moment, in a city, a strong man stood, his gaze fixed on some undefined point in the distance. A fire ignited in his heart, leading him to a decision he would act upon immediately.

He quickly made his way to a crowded place and began a speech he had just thought of. One common trait among most leaders of this era is that they often start by speaking to the public.

Their goal is to bring their nation to the position they believe it deserves. They are true leaders - leaders who see their own lives and happiness as trash, while the country and nation are treasures.

There is another kind of leader who doesn't make speeches but focuses on self-development - people like Alex.

They may not necessarily be saints or demons, but they are on a path to becoming high-level combat forces to serve their own life ideals.

These two paths, though seemingly unrelated, are fundamentally the same - both are devoid of happiness.

None of them care about things like emotions, fame, status, power, luxury, spacious homes, or vast wealth.

In their eyes, these things are mere trash, because after their awakening, they could be said to be the will of the nation or ambitions born from the call of the era, rather than human beings.

Alex is the only saint who has a marital relationship because, in the original future trajectory, his awakening was very slow. Initially, he only stopped at loving humanity, but it took him over a hundred years to fully understand his role as a saint.

Returning to the man, he was an extremely upright politician. However, announcing measures to deal with the aftermath of natural disasters wasn't really his responsibility.

But that didn't matter much giving a speech later to reassure the people wouldn't be anything excessive.

After waiting for a while, the time was right. He stepped up to the podium and cast his gaze down upon the thousands of people below. He boldly declared:

"Hello everyone, I'm Genghis Khan. There is no need for you to worry too much, as the government will surely take swift action to remedy the consequences of this event. I deeply regret the unfortunate loss of lives or severe injuries that occurred, but this isn't something the government can fully control.

Looking at the bright side, thanks to God, the opportunity we've awaited for hundreds of years has finally arrived. The chance for the Mongol Empire to rule the world once more is closer than ever.

As you can see, our current state is far from the glory of the past. Although our low population density means housing is a bit more comfortable, aren't we essentially living in a large prison?

To the north, we are completely surrounded by Russia, and to the south, we are completely surrounded by China. Furthermore, our nation is incredibly far from the sea, meaning we have almost no opportunity to access the ocean.

Why has this happened? Isn't it because they fear us? They fear that our mighty nation will rise once more to stand at the pinnacle of this world. They fear the day they will have to bow before us once again.

Their fear is not unfounded, for who are we? We are the Mongolian people, a fierce and powerful nation chosen by the heavens to be the lords of the steppes. Now, God has manifested to give us an opportunity, and we shall certainly restore the glorious past of our ancestors.

Anyone willing to join me, shout with me: 'Long live the Mongol Empire!'"

At first, the people didn't quite understand what was happening, but now they did. How could they not know the proud history of their ancestors, the heroic legacy of their nation?

It was only natural for them to feel proud, for out of the hundreds of nations in the world, how many have ever ruled an era?

They were not merely leaders. they were once the absolute rulers of an era. Now, they yearned to see that great era resurrected once more. Their nation would once again stand at the pinnacle of glory.

At this moment, the people raised their fists to the sky and shouted:

"Long live the Mongol Empire!"

"Long live the Mongol Empire!"

"Long live the Mongol Empire!"

.....

A flame that seemed destined to be extinguished after hundreds of years of weakness now reignited with new vigor.

After all, they were one of the few nations that had once stood at the pinnacle of the world, so it was natural for them to possess such a spirit. It would indeed be strange if a nation without a strong spirit could stand at the top of a new era.

Of course, there were special cases like the United States, which could not be considered a single nation, as it was a melting pot of many people from around the world.

Their policies could be seen as advantageous for development, but one thing they certainly lacked was a strong national spirit.

However, that didn't mean they had no chance of winning in this era, as freedom was something many people desired, and it was the very thing that united the American people into a cohesive whole.

Who would win and who would lose was not something that could easily be predicted at this time. Even Alex himself, only after reaching emperor level, which would take a few hundred more years, could claim to have the power to single-handedly overwhelm a human army.

Therefore, within the next twenty years, he would surely have no chance of dominating, even if all the saints, demons, and other emperor-level people were to join forces.
