Chapter 26 - Ho Chi Minh

At this moment in Vietnam, a small country in Southeast Asia with its northern border adjacent to China. Compared to other prominent nations, Vietnam's history has never experienced a period of dominating the world.

However, it is equally remarkable in terms of national spirit. A country that was colonized for over a thousand years and still managed to regain its independence without being assimilated is truly a rare phenomenon.

A backward country that defeated both France and the United States in the previous century to achieve independence is certainly not ordinary.

Although it can't be said that their military was stronger than that of France and the United States, in the matter of defending their homeland, both France and the United States would certainly suffer losses if they attempted an invasion.

Under normal circumstances, they might not have the chance to become the most powerful nation, but now things are different.

History has proven that their spirit of unity, talent, and willingness to sacrifice for their country are not trivial. If this time everyone starts from the same point, they may indeed have a chance.

Inside a military camp, a young soldier was gathering a few close friends to talk. His name was Ho Chi Minh.

"Hey, listen to what I have to say."

Seeing Ho Chi Minh so serious, the others naturally paid close attention. After all, they had been friends for many years, and it was rare to see him like this.

"Planning something big, huh?" Vo Nguyen Giap said.

He nodded and replied:

"Yeah, what do you think about our nation?"

"In what aspect?" Le Trong Tan said.

"In terms of courage and patriotism."

"Do we even need to talk about that? Isn't our history clear enough?" Vo Nguyen Giap said.

Seeing that everyone's answers were similar to his own thoughts, Ho Chi Minh continued:

"It's inherently difficult for us to become a major power. Our population is not overwhelming, and our core technology lags far behind that of the major powers. Moreover, being right next to China, it's unlikely they'd allow us to become too powerful."

"Are you planning to seize the opportunity given by God to rise up? But what are we fighting for?" Pham Van Dong said.

Hearing this, Ho Chi Minh explained:

"The current situation in the world is already chaotic. Conflicts that have been building up over the years have flared up due to recent events. China is our nearest neighbor, it's only a matter of a few years before they come to annex us. How could we possibly submit to that?"

Vo Nguyen Giap felt that this assessment wasn't much different from his own thoughts, so he nodded.

"What you say is not wrong; war is only a matter of time. This time, the scale of the conflict will certainly surpass that of World War II. It will be a war waged everywhere in the world simultaneously. We must act quickly, otherwise, it will be too late."

"I agree, but how do you plan to start?" Le Trong Tan said.

Although Ho Chi Minh didn't have much time, he had already come up with a plan. He said:

"I will deliver a speech to call on the entire nation to rise up. We stand up not only to protect our country but also to lead humanity toward peace. I want to end all wars among humanity once and for all."

"Alright, then let's quickly gather everyone and persuade the higher-ups to support us as well." Pham Van Dong said.

"Agreed, let's split up and take action." the others nodded in response.

The four of them quickly dispersed to gather everyone in the camp as soon as possible.

It took about half an hour to gather a relatively full group of people and successfully convince their superiors to let them start the speech.

Step by step, Ho Chi Minh ascended the podium. His demeanor was not something that a young person should typically possess. There was an indescribable persuasiveness when looking at him.

He was no different from the others, he seemed like a representative of the will of a nation awakening to the call of a new era.

"Comrades, I deeply regret if any of you suffered losses after the recent events. But the threat we faced was only a minor one, a much larger danger still looms over us. Everyone must understand the terrifying power of those at higher levels. Now, everyone has the opportunity to achieve immortality and become stronger, which will give nations the capability to rise up and unify the world.

We, being a small nation that has only been independent for a few years, will obviously be easy targets for them. Although we succeeded once in the past, let us not forget the sacrifices our people had to endure. Would you agree to let your families, friends, and everything you hold dear be taken away?

There was no need to ask, the answer was obviously no. Therefore, we need to prepare a plan in advance to respond to war. I will surely call upon the entire nation, so that every citizen becomes a soldier, ready for the day it arrives. The only way to end war forever is for a peace-loving nation to win the final victory.

I am determined to dedicate my entire life to keeping independence for our people and peace for all humanity. We, the soldiers of Vietnam, represent justice. We will surely succeed!

We are the heroic people who will save all of humanity. Now that we have an opportunity and the same starting point as them, we will definitely become the most outstanding nation!"

Hearing this, everyone responded enthusiastically to his words. As soldiers, feeling proud of their nation was all too natural.

They believed that in the future, they would be capable of defeating all the major powers in the world.

The power of a high-level person had been clearly described to them by God. They knew that as long as they were strong enough, they could certainly help Vietnam unify the world.

At this moment, both the soldiers and the high-ranking officers felt their blood boiling with enthusiasm. They had faith in their nation and faith in themselves. Though they had yet to begin, that bright future already seemed to be unfolding before their eyes.

Having aspirations is good, it increases the likelihood of success. If one undertakes something without believing in their own success, how could they possibly achieve it?

Seeing the spirit of everyone, Ho Chi Minh felt even more confident about the future. He thought:

"Indeed, the Vietnamese people fear no one. Ha ha, whether in peacetime or wartime, this mindset doesn't change. Thus, the bright future of a world led by the Vietnamese people has a higher chance of success. However, we must still be careful, as the major powers are not to be underestimated. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had the qualifications to dominate an era."

Although he had faith in his nation, it wasn't blind or foolish confidence. He was still aware that the great empires of history could rise again once more.
