Chapter 22 - Alexander

The flame within the hearts of the Mongolian people once again ignited under the speech of Genghis Khan. This wasn't a matter of hatred stemming from the fall of the empire centuries ago, but rather a flame of national pride.

They had once succeeded, so why couldn't they do it again? Now, they were equipped with more knowledge than their ancestors, which logically gave them more advantages than before.

From a spark that was Genghis Khan, the fire had spread at an astonishing speed, reaching every corner of Mongolia.

Of course, foreigners didn't feel anything from his speech because, simply put, it wasn't their nation.

If he had been like Franklin, they might have paid more attention because, after all, freedom is maybe something everyone desires.

But that attention would only be some because, in the end, this wasn't their country, so they had no reason to be enthusiastic.

There were some exceptions, though, as those with a deep love for Mongolia responded passionately to Genghis Khan's call.

.....

At the same time, Greece was no less lively. The national spirit of thousands of years was now awakening within the body of a young man. At present, he was just an ordinary student like everyone else, but who knows what he might achieve in the future.

He might not be the only one, but he was certainly the most resolute and had the greatest leadership qualities.

While everyone was gathering in the schoolyard to check for casualties and assess any potential losses, he stood up to speak.

"Can I borrow your microphone for a moment, sir?"

"For what?"

"Just listen, and you'll understand."

The principal was taken aback but still trusted him and handed over the microphone. He saw an absolute confidence in the young man's eyes, but there was no arrogance, which instinctively gave rise to a sense of reliability.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I deeply regret the losses everyone has suffered. Your friends, your loved ones may not have been fortunate, and I am deeply sorry for that. We all mourn them, but the most important thing now is to address the current situation. Before I say more, can everyone tell me how you feel about Greece today compared to our history?"

He then handed the microphone to a random person he didn't even know. The girl, suddenly asked, was momentarily taken aback but still replied.

"We are far inferior to the past."

He was quite surprised by how perfectly her answer aligned with his thoughts. Of course, he had considered different possible responses, not just leaving everything to chance.

"Did everyone hear that clearly? That's right, compared to the glorious days of old, we are nothing but trash. I know it sounds harsh, but does anyone feel that's wrong? In recent years, we have been drowning in debt, with a struggling economy, widespread unemployment, and people's lives have become incredibly difficult.

While I would love to defend the government, things have gotten so bad that it's impossible to defend them anymore. The ones who are failing here are them, not our nation.

Surely none of you have forgotten the glorious history of our ancestors. Our empire was once the pinnacle of power, invincible and untouchable, a place others could only gaze upon with envy.

We are a brave and intelligent people. We have achieved countless accomplishments over the millennia, so why have we fallen into such a miserable state now?

Although it's easy to blame weak leadership, these leaders are, after all, from our great nation, so they shouldn't be so incompetent. There must be external forces interfering, weakening our economy and politics to the state they are in today.

Now, we are buried in debt, always having to tighten our belts, and despite the people's hard work, life remains incredibly tough. But the darkness will soon pass because God has given us an opportunity. We are more diligent than anyone, no less intelligent, a courageous people with a glorious history, and starting from the same point, we will be the strongest.

We will work hard, study, and train to develop our nation. So that the world can no longer underestimate us. So that our people no longer struggle in life. I want to build a Greek Empire with you that will last forever, where all people live in prosperity and happiness.

I want you to receive what you deserve. I want your descendants to be born in an empire that is a paradise. I want our nation to reclaim the glory that rightfully belongs to us.

I am Alexander! If you want a bright future, then come with me. I will lead you to glory, to happiness, to the respect we deserve. I want to see a strong and everlasting Greek Empire because God has truly given us the chance to achieve that. I swear to be a devoted leader to our nation and people from now until forever.

Long live the Greek Empire!"

His words pierced the hearts of thousands of students like arrows. They knew the state of the country, the situation their families were in.

But these were undeniable truths - yet why should they accept them? They worked hard in their studies and jobs, so why were taxes rising higher and higher? It was absurd, truly absurd, and they had endured enough.

They saw a light in Alexander, a light of hope that could lead them to a happy future. Shouts echoed from all around:

"Long live Alexander! Long live the Greek Empire!"

"Long live Alexander! Long live the Greek Empire!"

"Long live Alexander! Long live the Greek Empire!"

.....

Even the principal, in that moment, joined in the chorus of shouts. He, too, was Greek, a member of a heroic nation. Though no longer young, his fervor was no less intense than anyone else's.

The crowd's cheers were somewhat beyond Alexander's expectations. He hadn't anticipated that everyone would so quickly see him as a leader and entrust their future to him.

But who was he? He certainly wouldn't disappoint the people. Raising his fist high in the air, he shouted:

"I may have nothing in my hands right now, but I swear on my life that I will find every way to lead our nation into its most glorious era! Long live the Greek Empire!"
