Chapter 21 - 21. Awakening XVI

Ahmed flashed and appeared before the Fae queen, amongst the things taught to him Etiquette was one of them.

He was taught on how what to do when in the presence of who be they from a grand family, a noble house or of royal descent.

In the real world people might seek out trouble for him just because he didn't bow to a certain someone or because his actions irked someone else, this had baffled Ahmed who already had a bad image of nobles and other well of people.

"Queen Lantana, I've been informed of my incoming trial. As much as it saddens me I'll have to depart." He lowered his head slightly, he could never seem to go any lower than that.

"It's fine, we both knew your stay was never permanent." Lantana smiled as she waved her hand towards one of her maids.

The maid stepped forward and handed a small box to Ahmed and bowed slightly before retreating.

"That is what we agreed upon, deliver it to the next fae tribe you meet be they from within the Awakening Realm or the outside." She reminded.

"It shall be done." Ahmed responded.

"Ahh also take this, take it as my way of appreciating the talent that you  are," she said as another servant approached Ahmed.

"This is a vial of Faes Essence, if you drink this you'll permanently get two of the Faes racial abilities without compromising your awakening bloodlines." She explained.

"This...is it really okay for me to have this?" Ahmed asked in shock.

"You've earned it little one, go on, drink it and think of the two Fae abilities you want to have." She responded.

Ahmed chugged down the potion without hesitation and made his thoughts firm and clear.

His body glowed in gold before the light slowly faded away.

"Thanks for everything Queen Lantana and the Fae of her Domain." The youth beamed a sincere smile as he did a ninety degree bow.

"It's alright, now go, I wouldn't want to be the cause of your delay." She smiled.

"Hm, where are my instructors? I've yet to bid them goodbye." He asked

"They are waiting for you at the entrance of the Domain, now off you go." The Queen shooed off.

Ahmed ran out the Tree castle and took to the skies, with a year spent alongside Faes he had naturally learnt to use his wings despite them being on his feet.

He kicked the air to gain more speed as he hurried towards the domains exit, he could already see the swirling mass of golden lights that were the portals exit.

Below the portal were the silhouettes of his instructors these past few months;

The Magic, mana, Elements theory and practical instructor, Mrs Hemming.

The Weapon Arts and Combat instructor, Mr Blaze

The Cultivation instructor, Mr Anders

The History Instructor, Mr Apricot

The Arrays and Rune instructor, Ms Shelly

The Linguistics and Etiquette Instructor, Mrs Meyers.

The Herbalism, Alchemy and Biology Instructor, Mr Clove.

They had taught him a lot and he was grateful for all of it, he had always known he was a tad bit smarter than others but not to the degree he had unveiled in these few months.

It was only now that he knew just how lazy he previously was, Ahmed before turning fifteen attending a middle school for kids his age.

He never really tried his hardest in class but also never failed his tests, this controlled balance irked the teachers after noticing the pattern.

But alas they couldn't force him to try harder if he didn't want to, he would on give his best towards things that interested him and at the time academics weren't exactly at the top of his list.

He had soaked in all of what he had been taught, in some cases he had even been halfway through their advanced versions, it was only now that Ahmed mumbled to himself, "At this rate do I really need to enter into the academy?"

He snuffed of the sprouting seeds of arrogance and affirmed the importance of the Academy, if even the royals and nobles who are privy to magic knowledge are all trying to get into the academy why should he feel it was beneath him?

He soon reached his instructors and greeted them warmly, they then having already discussed things gave him a special solution their crafters had brewed.

"Drip it onto your Imprint," Mrs Hemming instructed.

Ahmed obeyed and dropped the bkue liquid onto his imprint, he could feel the turbulence of mana, and the elements as the space within his Imprint expanded and became far more firmer than before.

"This?"

"It's a gift from the Crafter Fae." Hemmings chuckled as she handed over a medium sized cube.

"This is the collective gift from all your instructors, good luck out there, we're proud of you as your instructors these past few months." Mrs Hemming teared up as she stepped back and allowed the youth to leave.

"Thanks for everything, I mean it." Ahmed thanked before jumping into the skies and flashing intl the portal.

"The Queen sure isn't going to like what we gave the kid."  Blaze sighed but his smile hadn't faded away.

"It matters not, she did what she thought was right as a Queen, we did what we thought was right as mentors." Anders waved off, he had truly become fond of the kid these past few months.

"Plus it's not like she can kill us, she needs our help, so its probably going to be a slap on the wrist." Ms Shelly laughed off.

"Lets head back, I hope the kid isn't implicated when that thing comes to light." Clove sighed as he took to the air and flew back to the Heart of the Fae Domain their home.

In the Fae Mansion, the throne room was now devoid of people with the exception of the Queen and her advisor.

"He's left." The man said somberly.

"I know, now we wait for pandemonium, we'll finally be free of this Realm." Her eyes blazed with conviction as no once of pity could be seen.

"If things work out then...that kid, Ahmed and his family will be charged for treason you know?" The man pointed out.

"And what of it? The death of one measly human family for the freedom of my Kingdom, I'll gladly live with it." She resolved as she left the throne room.

"Haa, the Queens heart has truly turned cold. I'm sorry little lad, maybe with this you'll become less trusting of strangers just because they were rumored to be good natured doesn't mean they all are." The man sighed as he also left the throne room.
