"Damn."

"Shit."

"Well fuck."

"..."

The youths blankly stared at objective in helplessness.

"A mother, how the hell are we supposed to work around such a lousy hint?!" Mazel cursed.

"As much as I dislike horn head here, he's right, mother, crying mother, mountains is all too vauge." Regis chided in.

"Mountain, not mountains, it's singular don't complicate amd already complicated objective." Eve Cassandra rectified.

"As if plurality and singularity makes a difference." Regis spat obviously not liking being rectified.

"It actually kinda does, for example the pigeons they believe in the Trinity of the Father, Son and Spirit, it's a single being yet one at the same time. Plurality and singularity are important when it comes to the records of old." Mezal calmly explained, as much as he hated the angel race there wasn't a better example he could give.

"So not the eight pillars because they're plural?" Regis asked  ignoring Mazel.

"Yes, we only need singular mountains." Eve replied with a small nod.

"Hmm what about the feather mountain? Its singular right?" Regis queried.

"The feathered mountain? I'm not familiar with that one," Mazel commented, he for the remainder of the trial chose to swallow his grievances with Regis, only for the reminder of the trial.

"Isn't that an exile grounds of sorts?" Eve chimed in.

"Partly yes, it's a place of exile during or after the floods and other events." Regis stated before continuing,

"Its one of many important recorded mountains in Chinese mythology, particularly associated with the Great Flood.

Its where Gun was exiled for failing to control the flood waters, if I'm not mistaken it's also where his corpse was torn into pieces by wild creatures before being slashed open at the belly with the Wu sword, after which his son Yu emerged as a winged dragon and Gun himself metamorphosed into a yellow bear."

The three stares at the troll-kin for quite sometime not sure of what to say.

"What I like chinese myth, is it that weird? Unlike most of my kind who like the lore of the Jotun and the Asgardians I'm more of a Chinese guy." He explained with a shrug, he did particularly care about their points of view about him, he just chose to share to lessen the weird stares.

"Okay chinese nerd, as insightful as that is, are the feather mountains tied to any crying mother of sorts?" Mazel snorted.

"Hmm, I don't think so...its majorly tied to floods which I assmued to be the tears of the mother." Regis replied.

"Now that you mentioned it, it might be Skadi." Eve stated after a brief silence.

"Skadi? The Giantess of Norse Skadi?" Mazel queried.

"Yeah that's the one, tgere was a time she wanted revenge for something, but the gods instead offered he compensation.

She was shown the feet of many gods, the god who's feet she chose she would marry, she had wanted Baldur and assumed the fairest and good looking feet to be his." Eve narrated calmly her eyes wandering between the three boys, " she was however wrong and instead of Baldur she chose Njord the Sea God instead.

Skadi wanted to live on the mountain to hear the wolves howls while Njord wanted to hear the seagulls cries, so they agreed to spend nine nights on their preferred places, it didn't last though."

The boys remained silent as they absorbed the short story from Eve, they could more or less get where her assumption was coming from but...

"It doesn't fit, there's no mention of motherhood from Skadi's tale, thats our deal breaker." Ahmed sighed.

"So the genesis of motherhood, a mother, a crying mother and a mountain that has both fame and infamy." Ahmed listed deep in thought, he couldn't honestly think of anything along those lines.

He knew far too little about the old records to be helpful in their objective, at most he only new a bunch of mangled Greek stories about the olympians and the various popular stories told to him by his sister.

"Wait! Olympian Gods!" Ahmed suddenly exclaimed as he finally felt a tug within his thought process.

"Olympians? The embodiment of the peak in physical appearance and moral decadence?" Eve frowned as her face scrunched up in disgust for a brief second before returning to its normal expressionless form.

"Yes..." Ahmed replied timidly, Eve's frown momentarily made him question his own thought process.

"Don't mind her, everyone has their own beef with some kind of God, she wouldn't be the first nor the last you'll meet when talking about certain pantheons." Mazel waved off eazing a bit of Ahmeds self-doubt.

"Sorry, please explain yourself." Eve apologized briefly before allowing Ahmed to continue.

"I said Olympians because of mount Olympus, it has it's fair share of fame and infamy. Plus I don't doubt there's an abundance of crying mothers in greek myth...thats why I..." Ahmed explained softly as his voice became more and more quieter, not because he was doubting himself but because his teammates were staring too much.

"That's actually not a bad idea after all the focal point of this objective are the tears and its source, the mother." Regis acknowledged.

"Yeah, if I'm not mistaken then the mountain is mearly a landmark of the pantheon we are to delve into." Mazel agreed.

"If it's greek then there's quite a few mothers or motherhood related goddesses, we should split it four ways with each one of us tackling a singular aspect of it." Eve suggested with a tired sigh, she obviously had her own issues with the Greek pantheon but it wasn't any of their business to ask so the boys ignored her complicated expression and went on with their tasks.

"Gods tied to motherhood, Goddesses that have kids, Goddesses that have cried and the origin of motherhood. So hows doing what?" Eve posed as her eyes locked onto the boys
