As Viktor approached the table, Rebecca quickly composed herself, pushing aside the thoughts swirling in her mind. This meeting wasn't about her curiosity or personal intrigue—it was about business.
Rising from her seat, she extended her hand with a polite smile. "Mr. Viktor, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."
Viktor accepted her handshake, his grip firm but not overbearing. "Likewise, Ms. Rebecca. I hope I didn't keep you waiting."
Rebecca shook her head as they both sat down. "Not at all. I was just getting acquainted with the café. Nice choice, by the way."
Viktor smiled slightly. "Thanks. I come here when I need to think. The atmosphere helps."
Rebecca couldn't help but sigh, 'truly extraordinary.' She was used to seeing film directors and big screenwriters doing their best to curry favor, while Viktor gave her the impression he didn't care.
Nonetheless, she replied courteously, "It's certainly a peaceful spot. I can see why you'd choose it."
Viktor smiled at her response. At least, she isn't arrogant like most young people who achieve something.
After taking their seats, they mostly talked a little bit politely and formally. As Rebecca is in charge of managing the talent at Luminara Media, she was here not only concerning the band but also concerning the movie he will film.
That's right, although he hadn't completed his camera movie, generally, when a new movie was about to be filmed, the preparation took a lot of time. So now, it's preparing in advance. He didn't have much time to waste waiting to start the preparation after he finished the camera.
Since they had already become a little acquainted after the talk, he said, "I can suppose that you have already read the script by now, right?"
Rebecca nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Yes, I've read it thoroughly. I must admit, it's quite unique—refreshing, really. The plot has a complexity that stands out in today's market. It's no wonder that the boss wants Luminara Media to do this project."
Although she was saying this politely, she also found the idea of the project intriguing, and it's not likely she has any say in this. The project has already been decided; her role is to help with the talent that will be acquired for this.
This made her wonder more about Viktor's background. Habitually, as a department chief, she only needed to approve, and this kind of work would be done by her subordinate. But for Viktor, she was officially in charge even of miscellaneous things concerning his band.
Viktor could sense the subtle curiosity in her tone. He leaned forward slightly, his eyes narrowing in thought. "It seems you're wondering why Luminara is giving me so much attention."
Rebecca blinked, caught off guard by his directness. "I wouldn't say that exactly," she responded, choosing her words carefully. "But yes, it's a bit unusual for someone in my position to be this hands-on with a project at such an early stage. There's something special about you or this film, and I can't quite put my finger on it."
Viktor's lips curled into a faint, knowing smile. "Maybe it's the camera," he said cryptically. "Or maybe it's the story. Either way, I don't mind the extra attention. It just means more pressure to deliver something extraordinary."
Before waiting for her response, he changed the subject as he didn't want to talk much about this since he isn't going to tell her his father owns the company, right?
"Okay, let's not dwell on this issue. Let's talk about the things that made us come here. First, let's talk about the band. Mr. Hugo said that we need to talk about who will be the manager for the band with you, so let's start with this."
The Mr. Hugo he is talking about is, of course, his father. As for the band manager, it's very important for a band. He would manage the relationship between band members. Since three of the band members are beginners in the music industry, he would also be in charge of guiding them through important decisions regarding their image, musical direction, and growth, etc.
Rebecca nodded, her attention shifting to the new topic. "Certainly. Managing the band is crucial, and it's good we're addressing this early on."
Rebecca leaned back in her chair, considering the question. "For a band at your level, I'd say the manager needs to be someone who understands the nuances of the industry—someone with strong connections and a proven track record. They should be adept at handling both the business side of things, like contracts and negotiations, and the creative aspects, ensuring that the band's vision aligns with their public image."
Viktor shook his head. He didn't need a manager who was in charge of the creative aspect but someone who was good at marketing, helping him to gain more fans with greater efficiency.
He said, "In fact, the first requirement I set for the manager of our band is that he is extremely talented in terms of marketing. As for creativity, I have confidence in myself. As for business negotiations and the like, I have a PhD here."
Rebecca nodded on the surface, but she was surprised inside. Viktor seemed too confident to her, as if his success was guaranteed, which is a bit arrogant compared to the calm and wise vibe he gave her.
Nonetheless, she replied, "If you're talking about this, I think there's someone who meets your criteria."
Viktor's eyebrows raised slightly in interest. "Oh? Do tell."
Rebecca leaned forward, her fingers lightly tapping the table while she raised her eyebrows a little awkwardly. "It's a man who excels in marketing and has a solid track record in building artist profiles and expanding their fan base. He's worked with several successful acts and has a reputation for turning emerging talent into stars."
Viktor also noticed the little confusion on her face. He thought maybe the man she was talking about already had a band, so he asked, "Such a man must already be in charge of a band, right?"
Rebecca shook her head. "It's quite the opposite. He has been without work for some time now."
Viktor was surprised. From how she described him, he should have a band in charge by now. But since she said the opposite, there must be something unusual about him.
