Chapter 6 - Something is Amiss

After pondering for a long time over the world shocking news, Zack decided to shake off these thoughts by distracting himself with his experiments.

Turning off the TV, the young mason left the sitting room and later emerged inside a spacious white room.

The room was tidly cleaned, its walls were made of white shining tiles, the floor was also made up of polished tiles of white color.

Two rows of long experimental tables were placed in the middle of the room and on these tables, various glass containers containing different liquids and scientifical items were placed on it.

This was Zack's personal laboratory, were he performed the most bizzare experiments he could think of.

This room used to be his father's laboratory, and after the man left, it was latter given to Zack, since he was the only one inside the entire family who liked science and sorcery.

After entering the room, the young boy wasted no time and dived into his experiments.

Today he was working on his exoskeleton, which he gave the name solemn guardian.

His goal today was to turn hiss exoskeleton into a independent functional golemn, a task that has been challenging for Zack.

Truth be told creating golems was no easy task, especially for a apprentice sorcerer. Heck even master sorcerers, had trouble creating them.

Luckily Zack was no mere apprentice sorcerer but one of the most talented of his generation.

And also in addition to being a talented sorcerer, he was also a genius scientist, who managed mix science with sorcery, a feat that has never been achieved before, so it was safe to say in the least that he had a chance in being successful in his project, even though the chances were extremely low.

Zack took out his silver briefcase and placed it on top of the experimental table.

After that he pressed his right hand on it. Upon contact the silver briefcase began to form into a armored eskoskeleton suit of Zack's size.

Once the armoured suit had fully materialized, Zack began the creation process.

To create a, functional golemn, there were two methods that one could use to be successfull.

The first method was through the use of sorcery. By using structured spell components imbued with a sorcerer's conscious and crafting a functional body vessel imbued with the soul's character of the same sorcerer, one could create a golemn with its own consciousness.

Zack was currently unable to use this method due to the fact that one needed to be at least a master sorcerer to be able to craft a soul spell.

The stage of sorcery was grouped up into eight stages namely novice, rudiary, apprentice, advanced, master, sentient, diviner and last but not least visionary stage

The first stage of sorcery, the novice stage is the very foundation of sorcery, where one begins to perceive and uncover the truth of the world laws.

Then after the novice stage at the rudiary stage, sorcorers began to deepen their understanding of the world laws. At this stage the sorcorer begins to develop a certain high level of intelligence that's higher than the standard IQ level of an average human. Most sorcerers begin to learn the language of runes at this stage.

Beyond the rudiary stage, there is the apprentice stage, where a sorcerer begins to control his conscious to affect outside small items.

When one deepens the mastery of controlling their consciousness to large area affect, then they would have reached the advanced stage of sorcery.

After the advanced stage of sorcery, the sorcerer begins to deepen their mastery over their consciousness and after completely mastering it, the sorcerer would have reached the master stage. It is also at this stage that one begins to conjure and create magic spells.

After the master stage, the sorcerer then advance to the sentient stage, where they reach a whole new level. At this stage, the sorcerer's mind advances to a incomprehensible state that's difficult for a master sorcerer to understand. The sorcerer would start to comprehend the world's energy and start to influence it on a certain level, he will also be able to perform mind attacks on weak minded beings. This also the stage when one forms a grimmore.

After the sentient stage, the sorcorer will become a diviner, a being that's able to read the world like a book. They begin to fuse their conscious with the world itself to glimpse a certain distance of the future.

The diviner stage is kind of unique, this is so because after one advance to the higher corresponding stage, the divining ability of divination and its certain benefits would be lost.

After the diviner stage, one enters the visionary stage, which is the last stage of sorcery.

This stage of sorcery is when a sorcerer becomes truly powerful.

Although one will loose the power of divination, the loss will surely made up for by another unique ability.

At the visionary stage a sorcery will gain the power to control other creatures of lesser intelligence through their consciousness.

Given the advanced state of mind a visionary possess, there are only few creatures both human and spirits that can resist their control.

And also this ability is not affected by distance nor is it affected by numbers, as long as the said being had a lesser intelligence than a visionary and has been marked or ever seen by that visionary then they can be controlled regardless of where they are and how many they are.

In order to be able to transform the exoskeleton into a pure independently functional golemn, Zack had to use both his science skills and sorcorer skills.

First step, he began to create an Artificial Intelligent program through the use of computer systems

After that he then merged the program into his armoured exoskeleton suit database, this also required his scientific expertise.

After all of that was done, Zack began to reinforce his exoskeleton with more metal alloy so that it could assume shape.

This was the most important part. He had to calculate the right amount of alloy that would not hinder the exoskeleton's movements. Also he had to consider the metal's durability, density and conductivity.

This process took him more than a hour, which was more timed than he had scheduled for.

After reinforcing the exoskeleton with thick armor, Zack then began to focus on exoskeleton's movement programmed system.

This part was easy, he just had to create certain algorithms that focused solely on movement and the integrate the program into the suit functional database.

After Zack was done with the structure of the exoskeleton, he then began to craft some magic runes.

This was the last step of creating his golemn.

Using the ruinic language he was giving the Artificial intelligence a human will so that it can become a true golemn.

After this process, Zack was finally finished with his experiment.

Now all he had to do was wait for a week for the suit to synchronize with the new body program and for the magic tunes to fully integrate themselves onto the armour.

Checking out the time, Zack was surprised to see that it was already late in the evening, around five o'clock.

Exiting out of the laboratory, a wave of mental fatigue assaulted Zack. With drowsy eyes the dark haired boy headed to his room for a nice good old nap.

Latter, morning arrived, the rays of sunshine seeped into his small bedroom.

The alarm rang tirelessly, waking up the young boy.

After waking up Zack first went to take a quick cold shower to wash off the lingering sleep that was still visible on his face.

Entering the bathroom, Zack turned on the shower and stood under it as the cold water poured over him. His first contact with the water made him tremble, but after a minute of contact with the water he was no longer affected.

He gritted his teeth and his muscles stiffened as the cold water washed over his body.

The showering only last for half an hour, after that he went and brushed his teeth.

When he was done, he moved to his closet with the intention of picking some clothes to wear.

Zack was not really a fashion person, so he just donned another scholarly looking clothes that consisted of a white button t-shirt and black trousers, a set that was similar to the one he previously wore.

Once he was done dressing up, the young teenager descended down the stairs, heading straight to the kitchen to have breakfast.

And once he was in the kitchen, thats when Zack realized one detail that he had been overlooking, there was no breakfast.

The absence of breakfast, spelled the absence of his mother, since she always made it her job to prepare him breakfast before he went to school.

Another detail he noticed was that his older brother and sister seemed to be missing too.

'That's weird, l am pretty sure mom would have called, if she wasn't returning home, worse of all Cassie and Jack seemed to be absent too'

Just to be sure, Zack went to check the rooms of both his, mother and his siblings and truly they went there.

"Where is everyone?

Zack's intuition was telling him that something was amiss, and that there was a huge probability that his family might have encountered danger.

Even it was anyone else who was having this thoughts, they would have just dismissed these thoughts thinking that maybe they were overreacting, but Zack wouldn't say the same.

This was so because his intuition was no mere intuition at all. Most of his intuition was a warning that he glimpsed from fate through the use of his golden rimmed specs.

These specs of his were no mere items but instead were a rank C item that he inherited from his unloving father.

The glasses had a programmed function of probability that enabled them to glimpse at the strings of fate and provide enlightenment to its user in certain situations.

They also provided the user with higher comprehensive knowledge making their consciousness two times more durable and better.

It was safe to say that these specs were the main reason why Zack outshined all the peers of his level.

While Zack was pondering over his family's mysterious disappearance, he soon noticed another small detail that was amiss, the world was too quiet.
