"Sir, sadly, we cannot grant you your request. We are deeply sorry that your VIP seat is not available right now, but trust us, it is in your best interest to not disturb these guests," the attendant said.
"It wasn't a request; it was and still is an order. If you don't listen, I will see them for myself," the graduate said. He has been learning in one of the most decorated but also demanding schools in the whole country. A normal auction like this would never have someone with a higher status than him.
He walked by the pleading attendant and went straight to the VIP room Trash and G were currently occupying. "Hello!" he knocked on the door. "Open up. This is my VIP room!" he yelled since nobody responded to his first knocks.
As he knocked for about one minute while yelling the entire time the door finally opened. In front of him stood G and asked, "What do you want?"
"Where is the owner of this VIP lounge? Call him out right now!" he yelled. In his mind, it was impossible for G to be the magician occupying this lounge since there were a lot more male magicians than females. It was also quite common to bring along several servants to such events who would be in charge of, for example, opening the door.
"Leave right now before it's too late. I give you 3 seconds," G answered without any emotion, but the graduate was enraged. "How dare you order me around? Don't you know who I am?"
Suddenly the graduate of one of the most decorated schools of magic fell down and was unconscious. G looked at the worried attendants and said, "I warned him, but after 3 seconds he was still in his monologue, so I knocked him out. I will take him with me for now; maybe he lives, maybe he will die. It all depends on my mood," she said and closed the door in front of the alarmed faces of attendants.
G returned to the room and threw the unconscious graduate next to Trash. "This guy will be your competition; if he can evaluate the treasures of this house better than you, you will be punished," she said.
Trash just nodded and focused on the next item. It was an imposing looking sword with multiple gems all over it. It looked like a rare magic sword, but with one glance, one could determine that this sword was without a trace of magic.
"I like this," Trash pointed at the sword.
"You like it? Do you think there is magic on it?" G probed since this was his job.
"I like it. It's better than the thing from before." Trash repeated.
"You need to tell me if it has more value, not if you like it." G said annoyed.
"It's better," Trash just answered.
"Whatever," G couldn't take it. This guy would be a problem. A weird talent and not able to converse properly. Maybe I should put him back into a trashcan, she thought.
"Just keep going and tell me what you think is better," G finally said. Maybe he can pick out some artifacts at least.
At the stage, the next item was presented, and suddenly something spectacular happened. As the item was unveiled, a mystical aura filled the entire venue as two magical creatures flew out of a silver tee can with two openings. "We are the genies of the night. The owner of this can will be granted one wish by each of us. The wish has to be something magic-related under the stage you are at. Thats all," they vanished back to the can.
"Wow, what a rare find. G said. I should probably even buy this. Trash, what do you think about this one?" she asked. Come on, this is a free point for you. You can do it, disciple, she thought with anticipation.
"This? This is by far the worst. I hate it!"
"What???" G couldn't believe it.
"What is so bad about it?" she asked.
"I don't know. I just hate this thing a lot," he answered.
G was stunned for a few minutes. Is this guy for real? Is he trolling me? What is going on? She wondered and, to her astonishment, missed the chance to place a bid.
As she realized it, she got somewhat mad. "You. You are right, you are trash. Be serious from now on, or I will really put you back to the trashcan," she warned him. How could this guy mess with her and get away with it?
"No! Please don't." Trash suddenly said. "I don't know what I did wrong, but I apologize; please don't put me back. I want to see the world," he pleaded.
"Then come on. Get this next one right for me. Please." G pleaded. There is no way he could miss this one. This thing didn't even look good. Just a rusty copper dagger without any magic.
"I will try my best." Trash responded and focused on the useless item. After spending around 3 minutes intently staring at it, he came to a conclusion. "This. This is by far the best item. I love it," he said with excitement in his voice.
"You!!" G was close to killing him on the spot, but suddenly she remembered something. Talent trash for every element, but talent level god for trash. It couldn't be, she thought.
Suddenly she looked somewhat bewildered yet excited at the same time and took out two seemingly the same rocks out of nowhere.
"Choose one," she told Trash, and Trash pointed at a rock.
After Trash pointed, G got more excited and started to try different objects. A piece of wood. A sword. A wand. A shield. A coin. Each time trash is picked between identical-looking items, and each time within a second. He always picked the one item that had no magic at all.
After that test, she let Trash choose between different tiers of magic objects. This time Trash managed to always pick the least valuable item.
This is crazy G thought, as she now knew that Trash had a truly unexpected talent.
