"His maid?" the girl asked in shock.
"Yes, you will be his maid, secretary, and security guard all at the same time. Are you ready, or do you want to keep your luxurious life?" G asked.
The girl pondered for a bit while looking at the drooling trash. "Who is he for you?" the girl asked.
"He is my disciple I just picked up yesterday. It's a pain to take care of him, so I want to let someone else do the work. You seem to be the perfect person." She said she was not hiding her intentions at all.
"Is there really no other option?" the girl asked.
"No. If you want to train under me, it has to be as his maid. I won't take in another disciple, and I need to make this guy somewhat presentable to society soon, so take the offer or leave," G answered.
Hmm. The girl pondered. She just doesn't want a second disciple. This guy does look quite stupid; if I play my cards right, I might be able to take his position of disciple for myself. I just need to look him bad in front of her and show more promise in magic. She took another look at the drooling trash in the wheelchair. Yes, this should be easy enough.
"Ok, I agree. But since I will cut off my relationship to my daddy for this, I need enough resources from you."
"Sure, that's not a problem at all," G said. "Now, first you need to sign this contract to never betray him and act in his best interest, and then you will be officially his maid," G said, taking out a contract out of seemingly nowhere.
"Wait," the girl said. "First, I need to call Daddy to at least tell him about my decision," the girl said and took out her phone.
After just one ring, the phone got picked up, and on the other side, Lord Selldom picked up. "Lilly, are you alright? Did you get the item?" he asked.
"No, daddy," Lilly answered. "I didn't get it, and now I will be joining the mage that bought the item. I will talk to you again once I am stronger. Bye bye," she hung up.
Just two seconds after hanging up, her phone vibrated, signaling an incoming call. Lilly picked up the phone and said. "Daddy, stop calling me. I will be away for a long time," she hung up again.
Before the phone could ring again, Lilly just threw the phone on the ground, breaking it. "Now that I said goodby, there is no need to talk to him anymore." She took out a pen and got ready to sign the contract.
Wow, this contract is not as harsh as I thought. I don't even need to obey him unconditionally, and it only forbids me from killing him or attacking him directly. I can still make him look bad in front of my real master.
G saw Lilly smiling at the contract and was happy as well. That's how it should be. Unreasonable enemies, and a snake as a maid. He needs to learn how the world works, and this will be his perfect lesson. With his ability to assess value alone, he will stay my disciple, but I won't make his road easy just because of this. Stregth, after all, is achieved through hardship.
Lilly finally signed the contract and was now ready to serve Trash and embark on her magical journey.
Meanwhile, in the large building Lord Selldom resided.
"You're fired! You're fired! You're fired! And you! You will be thrown in jail!!!" He pointed at several of his personal, hired to ensure the loyalty and safety of his daughter.
His daughter was seemingly willing to leave him for the mage who outbid her and, to an extent, even him. This was unacceptable.
"Activate the GPS chip planted within her. I will find her and bring her back. Spend my money on the best mages available to kill that mage and finally destroy James Baltasar's mage career completely. Spread rumors and fabricate evidence for murder, rape, and other crimes. I want him gone after sleeping through my daughter's misery. Also find this guy who called himself Trash as well as that arrogant woman I spoke to and take them out!"
Lord Selldom panted heavily after saying all these words. He wasn't that enraged ever since his wife left him, and he would not stop until the situation was completely resolved in his victory.
Back in the auction house, Lilly's first task as a maid was to wake up her new master. She went to him and shook his body. Wake up, ähm master.
Trash paniked as his body shook and accidentally slaped Lilly's face. Shortly after, he was awake and was wondering why there was someone he didn't know looking at him with an angry face.
"Hey you. Nice to meet you; I'm Trash," he said. "Why is there a red inprint on your face?" he asked.
"You! Sorry, master... trash? You must have "accedentially" hit my face while waking up. I'm Lilly, and from now on I will be your maid," she said somewhat angrily. How dare he hit my face?
"Oh good," Trash said, skipping over the "hit my face" part and continuing. "I am quite new here; thanks for helping me."
"Now that everyone knows each other, let's leave this place and finally awaken your magic," G said. She handed Lilly a credit card and a new phone. "From now on, you will be responsible for transporting Trash until he learns how to walk. This phone has our address saved, and the credit card contains enough money to live rich for 1000 years. While I will fly to where you guys will awaken magic, you have to travel there as a sort of motivation. By the way," she looked at Lilly. "I will only awaken your magic if both of you make it there alive. Anyway, see you," G said and flew away.
Now it was only Lilly and Trash remaining. "What did she mean by making it alive? Where do we need to go?" Lilly questioned G. She looked at Trash, who apparently didn't have anything to say about what was going on, and took out the phone to look where they would need to go.
"So our destination is... in China?!?!? But we are in America right now."
