A few minutes later,
"Argh…" Alex grunted, slowly opening his eyes. "What… happened?"
He could feel a sharp sting at the back of his head, causing him to wince in pain.
Suddenly, the memories of everything that happened came flooding to his mind, and his eyes widened in shock.
'Quira… quira!!' He thought, swiftly standing back up on his feet.
However, his body felt extremely weak, and he soon stumbled back to the ground with a loud grunt.
"Argh…" He gently placed his hand at the side of his head, before bringing it to his eyes.
"Blood…?" He muttered, a strange glint flickering through his eyes.
However, he didn't dwell too much on that, simply pushing it to the back of his mind.
He stood back up on his feet, strongly resisting the pain and dizziness coursing through his body.
Just then, he caught sight of Quira's figure lying still on the ground, in a pool of blood.
"N-no…" He muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
Ignoring the aching pain from the back of his head, he slowly moved forward, gradually getting closer to the body.
When he finally got to her, he was finally able to get a good view of her body, and his eyes widened in horror.
She was lying down in a pool of her own blood, with a large, gaping hole on her chest, which displayed her crushed ribs and also her internal organs.
Blood rapidly flowed out of the hole, and the pool of blood beneath her body rapidly increased.
"W-why… no…" Alex muttered, kneeling down to her body, with tears streaming down his face.
His clothes became soaked in the blood, however, he couldn't care less about that.
He gently cupped her face, his hands trembling as he felt the cold temperature of her skin.
"I didn't expect you to regain consciousness this fast. Guess thats something you should be proud about." Port'hov said, chuckling loudly to himself.
A small red organ floated in front of him, weakly pulsing as blood flowed down from it.
That organ was Quira's heart, which he harvested from her body during the time Alex was unconscious.
Hearing his words, Alex slowly turned his head towards him, tightly clenching his fists to the point where his palms bled.
His eyes trembled in horror upon seeing the organ floating in front Port'hov, and his eyes subconsciously drifted back to the gaping hole in Quira's chest.
His gaze kept alternating between the two for a few seconds, and his eyes soon turned bloodshot, with his body trembling in rage.
"S-she didn't do anything, so why… why did you kill her?!" Alex shouted, suddenly charging at the man in anger.
However, he suddenly hit an invisible wall, stumbling back to the ground in pain.
He kept slamming on the 'wall' in front of him, but it didn't budge. No matter what he did, he couldn't get closer to the one who killed his sister.
"She's such a great talent, so why would I want to waste such a previous opportunity like this…?" Port'hov replied, raising his brows slightly.
He had originally planned to brainwash her, training her to be his personal weapon, however, Cier'ta was strongly against that, insisting she must be killed.
He could only accept, giving in to his partner's desires, but he would surely make sure to gain all he could from her dead body.
"Ahh, it's been such a long time…" He thought, staring at the heart floating in front of him with a dreamy look on his face. "I can finally experiment on people again!"
After saying that, he pulled the rest of her body towards him, placing it side by side with her harvested heart.
Alex screamed and screamed, but, no matter what he did, they only ignored him.
Cier'ta's lips curled into a wide smirk upon seeing the pitiful expression on his face.
"Save your voice for now, 'cause when I'm done with you, you'd wish you died today." She said, suddenly breaking out in a loud chuckle.
With a flick of her finger, thick, invisible chains made swiftly materialised on Alex's hands and legs, tightly pinning him to the ground.
The chains were made from Zet, which was why they were unnoticeable to someone like Alex, who was an ordinary person.
He kept struggling and pulling, trying desperately to break whatever was binding him, however, it was all in vain.
Meanwhile, within young Alex's mind, Alex watched everything happening in front of him, with rage bubbling within him.
Although he wasn't exactly present there, and was simply seeing what had happened in the past… it all felt real.
He could vividly feel the pain and rage he younger self was feeling, along with the helplessness he felt at not being able to do anything.
That was the same thing he had always felt for the last fifteen years… that anger at his weakness.
'Why do I have to be so weak?' The same thought passed through the minds of both he and his younger self.
As if killing Quira wasn't enough, they both forced him to watch as Port'hov dissected his little sister piece by piece, before incinerating the rest of her body to cinders.
Alex watched as his younger self struggled helplessly, however, he was unable to break the Zet chains binding his hands and legs to the ground.
All the whole, Cier'ta stood in the distance, laughing in excitement as he watched Alex's plight.
He felt like a thousand needles were being mercilessly stabbed into his chest at the same time, and the worst part was that he was too weak to stop this.
Having gone through this before, having to watch it all over again caused all the rage he had forcefully suppressed in his heart to bubble back to the surface, burning with even more intensity.
'Port'hov… Cier'ta… I'll kill you. I'll make sure you both suffer…' Alex thought.
After that incident, Cier'ta officially became the queen of Zenon, with Port'hov acting as her second-in-command.
Majority of the nobles stood by their side, and the few who refused to cooperate with them were either killed or sent into slavery.
They came up with a stupid story, in order to justify the death of the king and queen, and the whole kingdom simply gobbled it up, despite the glaring holes within the story.
With the nobles standing with them, it was very easy to turn the kingdom in the favour.
Ever since king Earl lost his psychic powers, most of the kingdom were greatly displaced with his position as king.
To them, people who didn't have Zet were less than trash, and shouldn't even be allowed to breathe the same air with them.
A large majority of the kingdom also hated how the royal family openly supported 'duds', abolishing the slavery of duds and trying to integrate them into the society.
After that day, a new power came into rule in Norath, and the fall of the formerly great Ferdi'nand family was celebrated all over the kingdom.
