"Even after everything… all that did nothing." Port'hov mumbled, his eyes staring off into space.
He had invested so much time and resources into this experiment, all to fulfil his desires, but at the end of the day, it was all in vain.
Though this wasn't the first time he would be failing, it sure was the most painful. With how much he had improved the 'super-gene', he felt like at least one of the subjects should be a success.
"I hate—"
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
The hologram in front of him suddenly started beeping, causing his eyes to widen in shock.
His eyes instinctively went to the screen, and his body trembled in excitement when he saw the thin zigzag waves moving at the top of the hologram.
"A… heartbeat. That means… it wasn't a failure!" He exclaimed in excitement, making a fist pump.
Only one heart was beating out of the ten that were in this 'unit', however, he was happy about it anyway.
He never cared about their life from the start, as all he wanted was to fulfil his own ambition.
After all the stress he had gone through… all the countless failures, one of them finally survived the experiment!
*
"Hah!" Alex gasped, his eyes suddenly snapping back to reality.
'What… was that?! Watching everything all over again...' He thought, his brows furrowing in anger and confusion. 'And that giant tiger I saw before…'
The thoughts about whatever really happened didn't linger in his mind for too long though, as memories of everything he experienced before he lost consciousness and after suddenly flooded back into his mind.
The rage he felt… the excruciating pain he went to… all of them came back at once.
"Port'hov…" Alex mumbled, gnashing his teeth in anger.
Unbeknownst to him, his eyes briefly shone with a bright red glow.
He swiftly pulled up his right arm, in a bid to break off the thick metal straps binding him.
He had expected himself to struggle… or even worse, for the restraints to not budge, like the last time.
Clang!
However, to his surprise, the restraints pinning his right arm shattered into pieces the moment he raised his arm.
"It… broke?!" Alex muttered in shock.
Clang!
Seeing as that one came off easily, he quickly tried freeing himself from the other straps, and surprisingly, they all crumbled into pieces the moment he made the slightest movement.
'Yes!' Alex thought, his lips slowly curling into a slight smirk as he clenched his fists.
Without wasting any time, he sent a powerful punch towards the transparent glass enclosing him around.
BOOM!!
SHATTER!
The second his hands touched the glass, a powerful shockwave suddenly blasted from his fists, shattering the glass into pieces.
BAM!!
After bursting through the glass, the shockwave slammed into the ceiling with immense force, forming a large dent on the surface.
"What?!" The loud noise made by the collision attracted the attention of the scientists, and their eyes widened in shock.
They watched as Alex slowly climbed down from the broken pod, staring at his hands in awe.
Although he was right in front of them, none of them moved, simply staring at him in fear.
He was still putting on the same thin blue gown, except, it was completely dyed in blood… his own blood.
The blood all over his body gave him the image of a vengeful ghost, and the sight of it sent chills down their spines.
Although he wasn't standing too far from them, none of them dared to approach him.
Alex slowly climbed down from the flat surface, staring at his hands in awe.
'So much power… coursing through by body.' He thought. 'I've never felt something like this before!'
"S-stop there!" One of the scientists suddenly shouted, stretching his hands towards Alex.
Swishh!!
A large U-shaped gun swiftly materialised in front of him, and he tightly gripped the space between the barrels, aiming the gun at Alex.
"Ne'dt…" One of the scientists behind him muttered in worry, his gaze alternating between his friend and the Alex.
"We already took precautions. Stop being a coward." Ne'dt replied.
"Precautions…" Alex mumbled, his lips slowly curling into a slight smirk.
Suddenly, he felt an annoying ringing sound in his head, and his expression twisted into a slight frown.
'What?' He thought, the frown on his face slowly changing into one of frustration.
Spurt!
'So annoying.' He mumbled inwardly, before abruptly digging two of his fingers into the side of his head.
He kept searching for a few seconds, until his fingers settled on a tiny capsule, which kept buzzing in his head.
He swiftly pulled out the capsule, pointing it at the scientists.
Growl!
"You mean… this?" He muttered, letting out a deep growl.
As for the wound at the side of his head, it immediately closed, returning back to normal within a split second.
"W-what… how…?" Ne'dt mumbled, his hands trembling in shock and fear.
That capsule was meant to keep Alex under their control, in case he becomes too much to handle with their psychic powers alone.
It was meant to control him, and make him do their wishes… to make him a perfect slave.
The effect of the capsule was to inject Zet directly in the nerves and muscles, so the person would be forced to obey all their commands, whether they liked it or not.
A similar capsule was planted into the head of all the experiment subjects, in case any one of them turned out to be successful.
It was strategically planted in the center of the brain to prevent the slave from attempting to remove it. Such attempt would be fatal, as it only result in the death of the slave.
However, the chances of such case was supposed to be zero, and planting the capsule in the brain was simply a precaution on their part.
What they just didn't expect was for Alex to directly pull out of capsule by stabbing his fingers into his brain!
Besides, the capsule wasn't even effective on him from the start!
"W-what… a-are you…?" One of the scientists muttered, staggering back in fear.
"What am I?" Alex said, with a sinister grin on his face, revealing a set of sharp, deadly fangs.
"Don't worry… you'll find out." He muttered, his eyes glowing bright red.
