Chapter 18 - Eliminate Target!

Before he knew it, his hands started moving towards the woman's head, however, he abruptly paused, with a slight frown on his face.

"What am I doing…?" He mumbled, slowly standing back up on his feet.

He slowly walked away from her body, still surprised at his previous action.

'What was that? For a moment, her flesh look… very appetising.' He thought, his brows furrowed in confusion.

As he walked, his legs suddenly touched one of the glass shards on the ground, causing his brows to raise slightly in surprise.

He looked down at broken piece of glass, however, his eyes widened in shock at the image staring back at him.

His gently picked the glass shard up, staring at his reflection with his brows furrowed slightly.

'This… is me?' He mumbled inwardly, lightly touching his reflection with his fingertips.

Although he felt his appearance had changed within him when he woke up, he didn't expect it to be this much.

His formerly rough and faded black hair was now sleek and curly, cascading gracefully down his neck.

During his time suffering as a slave, his once fair skin had lost all its original complexion, gaining a rough and uneven tan.

The harsh weathers had baked his flesh, leaving it mottled with dark patches and contrasting calluses. His skin turned leathery and coarse, bearing the unmistakable marks of years of hardship.

However, none of those signs were present in the image staring back at him. Instead, his skin had darkened to a smooth brown complexion, free of the rough patches, scars, and calluses that once marked his body.

He was now significantly taller, standing at about 190cm, compared to his previous height of around 175m.

His body had also become much more muscular, a stark contrast to his formerly frail and malnourished physique.

It wasn't so that his body was overly large and bulky; rather, his muscles were perfectly compacted, and well-chiselled, giving him a toned, athletic physique.

His face had also gotten a lot more handsome, with smooth skin and a well-sculptured jawline, greatly boosting his overall charm.

His only feature that somewhat retrained its former appearance was his eyes, which was still pitch black.

However, they were a lot more vibrant now, and burned bright with life.

The change which more or less shocked him the most though was his face.

All the scars on his face—the very ones that had earned him the moniker "Scarred King"—had healed completely, leaving no trace that they had ever been there.

He didn't know why, but seeing his face without scars felt quite weird, especially the thick one which previously ran across his face.

He had always considered those scars as a 'part of him'… a remembrance of the pain and suffering he went through as a slave.

A drive for him to get stronger and get his revenge on the world, however… they were all gone now.

It was quite weird, that the moment he finally lost the power he long desired, all the scars that had accumulated on his body all those completely vanished.

Nonetheless, he didn't regret any of this, as he didn't have any plan of going back to the way he was before.

Crack!

He nonchalantly flung the glass to the side, and it immediately shattered into smaller pieces upon hitting the ground.

"How long are you going to keep pretending?" He suddenly said, turning to the other side of the room.

At first, no one answered, bringing about an awkward silence in the room.

Bang!

However, after a few seconds, one of the 'pods' on the other end suddenly shattered with a loud bang, breaking the previous solemn atmosphere.

"Damn it… I really thought you wouldn't notice." A familiar blonde haired man slowly climbed down from the 'platform', staring at Alex with a wry smile on his face.

Compared to Alex, his complexion was a lot fairer, greatly complementing his long, blonde hair.

He was also very handsome, with a slightly pointed nose and soft, delicate features.

"It was pretty easy to tell." Alex replied, a strange glint flashing through his eyes.

Back when he killed Port'hov's clone, his ears picked up the sound of a heart beating behind him, which was how he knew he wasn't the only one who survived the experiment.

'He easily broke those metal straps… does that mean he's also like me…? Or different?' As the thought crossed through his mind, his eyes subconsciously lit up with a bright red glow.

And to his surprise, the blonde haired man's eyes shone yellow in response.

"Hmm… I see." He muttered, lightly rubbing his chin. 'So he's similar to me, no wonder his presence feels so… familiar.'

"Hmph, whatever." Alex muttered, turning back to the other side.

"Do whatever you want, as for me… I'm going to get Port'hov." He mumbled, his lips slowly curling into a sinister smirk.

BLEEP!!

BLEEP!!

Suddenly, alarms started blaring loudly across the room, breaking the silent atmosphere.

The room flashed with bright red lights, pulsating rapidly as the sirens screamed on.

"I expected the alarms to go off a lot earlier." The blonde haired man muttered, his brows furrowing slightly.

Shhk!!

Shhk!!

The walls around them unexpectedly slid open at that moment, revealing a bunch of tall, blue robots.

The robots had thin torsos, along with a pair of long limbs and a small oval head.

They were exactly twenty in number, with ten positioned on each side of the room.

One of them turned towards Alex, its eyes and chest immediately lighting up with a bright red light.

A similar change happened with the other and they swiftly encircled Alex, trapping in him the center.

"Eliminate Target!" It said in a robotic voice, pointing its long hands at him.

The other robots quickly followed its command, all of them stretching their hands out at him.

Whirrr!!

A thick red beam rapidly powered up in front of their hands, the light brightly illuminating the entire room.

'Do you think this will be enough to hold me back…' Alex thought, his lips curling into a wide smirk at the sight of the robots. 'Port'hov?!'

Fwoosh!!

The beams suddenly shot towards Alex at the same time, blasting through the air at immense speed.

BOOM!!

The attacks reached him within the blink of an eyes, erupting in a powerful explosion, which violently swept across the laboratory.
