I sat outside in the garden on the stone stairs, taking in the fresh air before putting my head phones on.
I connected them with my phone and started playing a song from my playlist. It didn't have many lyrics, but it was indeed calming.
I closed my eyes and started humming the melody to myself. I put my hands at my sides and let my head fall back. It was peaceful, and I was enjoying the fact that I was on my own. I was usually being nagged by everyone. Well, not everyone, but almost everyone in my life. My teachers, Father, Step Mother, The girls in my school, etc.
I myself usually like sitting in a peaceful and quiet place and sketch, So that's what I did. I reached for my back bag that was laying by my side. I opened up the zipper and took out a pencil and an sketch book.
I scanned my surroundings, looking for something to draw when my eyes finally caught the sight of a guy and a girl sitting next to each other over on the other side of the vast garden. They were both sitting under a Cherry blossom tree, holding each others hands and smiling at each other.
I sighed and stared at them. They both looked so happy, like they we're what each other needed most. I envied their happiness. I never thought of anything in life as unfair, everything had it's reasons. But even so, they were so happy, while I wasn't. It didn't strike me as unfair, just sad.
I took my pencil and started sketching their figures and the beautiful scenery around them when I was startled by a voice coming from behind.
"Sang-sii!" Pan Sa-Rang called out to me from a couple of meters away. "You went missing so I thought he would be here!" she grinned.
I couldn't stop myself from smiling at the site of her holding so much different milk cartons. When she finally reached me, she passed me 2 cartons of strawberry milk and and one Fanta soda.
"Drink up, you haven't eaten anything today" she yawned while stretching. "Oh, that's a pretty good sketch, Sang-sii" she smiled at me, and my mind went fuzzy. She was so beautiful, her golden eyes and ginger hair that reached all the way to her back complemented each other so perfectly, it was shocking. She was the only person I tolerated and the only person I liked being around. The only person didn't treat me like some piece of glass that could break upon touch.
The incident was so long ago but people still won't let me forget.
"Sa-Rang, how was fire practice today?" I asked as I took a sip of Strawberry milk.
"Oh, it was nothing special, although this beautiful girl joined out class."
"Is she a transfer student?"
"Yeah, she's from outer seas. Her name was Chung Seo-Hyeon and she had unusually white hair that had everyone thinking she was some sort of goddess." She said.
I bet she wasn't prettier than you.
"Oh, yeah?" There hasn't been a transfer student in a while, so it was sort of interesting, "Is she good with fire?"
"She's a prodigy, she even shocked the teacher" she stated, "But don't worry, she isn't near your true level. I think she's a level 3" A level 3? That's not bad at all.
I nodded, even more curious. Who was this mysterious transfer student who suddenly showed up and took 3 top spot? Well, it truly didn't concern me.
I got up and told Sa-Rang that I had a class and suggested we walked home later. She agreed and left to class herself. I put my pencil and sketchbook in my bag and started walking towards class.
On my way, I decided to see how far I'd gotten on my ice practice. I opened my hand and an ice shard formed in the middle of my palm. The shards suddenly shot every where and stabbed the tree's surrounding me. It pierced it through and came back towards me.
Right before it touched me, I snapped my fingers and the ice shards disaggregated.
I couldn't exercise the even a tenth of my power since I was outdoors, so I decided to save it for when I got home.
As I walked towards class, I couldn't wait for the day to end if it meant I could walk home with Ra-Sang.
