"Eternal?" I said.
He smiled, "Yes, Eternal! it's nice name, wouldn't you agree?". A chair appeared from behind him. He took a seat and crossed his legs. He rested his head on his right hand while he spun his dagger in his left.
Sa-Rang's lifeless body flashed across my mind. I felt my eyes brim with tears. How could he act like he didn't just commit murder?
"Why did you have to kill her?" I cried. I felt myself choke. Eternal stared down at me through his hood and snapped his fingers. Suddenly, my limbs could move again. I fell to my knees, my hands hitting the ground hard as tears streamed down my face. Just why? Why did he have to kill her out of all the people in my life?
Is life really fair? Is it?
"Life is fair, Sang," Eternal whispered, "It's just that you got the bitter end of the stick. After all, everything happens for a reason, no?"
I froze. I always thought like that, but I never said it out loud. And even if I did, how could he have heard me say it?
"I've seen everything, I know everything about you, Sang!" He declared like it was something to be proud of.
"I've been in your mind, listening to your thoughts, and I've got to say, you really are pitiful, Sang." He shook his head and frowned.
Was this guy serious? It's not possible to enter a person's mind, no matter what level of Insight you have. Nor is it possible to stay there for a magical being with his power to not be recognized right away, no matter how much levels he was suppressing.
Who was this guy? Why was he here, in my dream? Why did he want me specifically? And why did he kill Sa-Rang?
"All your questions will be answered in due time, Sang. Just be patient."
"Could you stop doing that? it's pretty fucking annoying." I was sick of him reading my mind all the time.
His grin came back in full force, possibly even wider than before. "Okay, okay," he answered. He stopped spinning his dagger and put it in his pocket. "Sang, lets get to the point. I'm very fond of you."
Excuse me?
"You're fond of me?" I said in disbelief. If he was so fond of me, why would he kill the only person that truly mattered to me?
"I had to kill her. She could've gotten in the way of my plan," He said with a stern tone. "Anybody who could make you weak had to die. Love is weakness."
Stop reading my thoughts.
"What kind of bullshit it that?!" I exclaimed. "Killing the only person I loved using the excuse they could make me weak?"
"Love is weakness," he murmured, "You could've put yourself in danger trying to save her from what's about to come."
I looked at him in disbelief.
He can't be serious.
"I am serious."
"Stop reading my DAMN THOUGHTS-!"
In an instant, the dagger that was supposed to be in his pocket flew past my hair in an flash, only missing my eye with half an inch.
I looked at Eternal, dazed. His smile was gone. His demeanor had completely changed. He wasn't inviting anymore, but gave off a cold and strong aura.
"Sang Kija. You should be grateful you're a key component in my plan," His voice had become overwhelming again. My mouth filled with blood and my ears felt like they would burst.
I couldn't see his eyes, but I could tell- no, I could feel his strong gaze on me. "Otherwise, I would've killed you instead of her. You're too much of a threat, yet I've decided to keep you alive. Shouldn't you be thankful?"
He former grin came back, but it was a little different. It seemed more manic. He got up and spread his arms out like before. "In fact, you should be kissing the ground I walked on!" He started laughing psychotically.
"Yes, yes! You should be grateful I let you live, you stupid Ὁ Ὄντως Φῶς!"
I stared at him with horror. This man was insane.
"You were the one who erased everyone's memory of Sa-Rang, right?" I felt my arms shaking as I remembered what my father had said.
"Oh, that?" Eternal was back to sitting on his chair, "Yes, I had to, so no one would believe you if you mentioned her."
"Why go that far?" It didn't make any sense.
"The memory of her might've made you stay here on Earth," he said calmly, "I couldn't risk that as you need to go to Elirac."
What? Elirac?
"And why do I have to go there?" No way I'm willingly walking into the Monster Realm.
"You'll find answers there. I'm assuming you want to kill me, right?" Every muscle in my body tensed up.
If I tried to kill him now, I'd end up dead in less that a second.
"How can I get there?"
"Now, come on, what fun would it be if I told you everything?"
In all honesty, you've told me nothing.
He sighed. "Look for a girl with white hair and green eyes. Take her with you to Elirac, she'll be useful."
White hair and green eyes.. Chung Seo Hyeon??
"Now, I'll get going. I've already taken too much time." He got up and snapped his fingers. Suddenly, my eyelids became way too heavy.
"I hope you find me, Sang Kija."
I felt my arms and legs go numb. I fell to the ground and blacked out completely.
