Priscilla pov
Alaric grabbed my shoulder " Hey look at me, we are going to find him."
I sighed in frustration, I knew this was bound to happen but I didn't expect it to happen so soon.
I still haven't found all the items I needed to complete the spell to separate that beast from my son.
Such a spell would require an enormous amount of power and every magic comes with a price, one I am willing to pay.
"Yeah, we will." I force a smile.
"Let's check around the school and see what we can find, the last place he was seen was the library so we should start from there."
Alaric used his magic and we became invincible, if one of the students is involved in my son's missing case I wanted to know.
As we walked through the walls of the school I kept casting a locator spell but someone was blocking me and I silently prayed it wasn't my psychotic father.
We got to Miles's classroom because we had to pass that route to get to the library. I watched as Theo impatiently stared at his watch, it was clear that he was uncomfortable.
Why wouldn't he be, his best friend was missing but he's stuck in school.
"That kid loves your son, I could feel it," Alaric said as we made our way to the library.
"Yeah well, they grew up together so it would be natural," I said softly.
I scanned the library and realized that a sign was inscribed on the door that leads to the bathroom stating "OFF LIMITS."
"That's not right, I thought bathrooms were supposed to be used?" Alaric said as he glared at the sign.
"Yeah, it's quite strange," I replied to Alaric not taking my eyes from the door.
I needed to find out what happened to my son, so I cautiously opened the door. As we stepped inside, we were met with a gruesome scene, but thankfully, there was nobody in sight. My heart raced as I noticed blood stains on the floor.
I crouched down, gently touching the blood with my finger. With a whispered incantation, the blood started glowing, leaving me wide-eyed in shock.
"It's miles." I turned to Alaric.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes it is and I think he was poisoned with wolfsbane."
As Alaric picked up a silver coin from the floor, he turned it sideways. I quickly rushed over to his side and snatched the coin from his hands, my eyes narrowing as my suspicion was confirmed.
"Clove," I muttered.
"You mean the ancient association of bounty hunters? Why would they go after miles."
"I have no business for those bounty hunters unless someone placed a bounty on my son." I rubbed my head feeling exhausted from all this drama.
"Once they set their sights on a target, those hunters won't give up. They'll keep sending more until the job gets done."," Alaric said.
"You don't think I know that." I gave him a fierce glare as I kept walking towards him.
"you have something to do with my son's missing don't you?"
My eyes filled with a burning rage, I channeled my powers, causing my palm to burst into dazzling green flames. The fiery aura danced around my hand.
"What? Are you being serious?" Alaric scoffed in disbelief.
"Ever since you showed up my family has been a mess, I don't trust you, for all I know my father could have gotten to you over these last sixteen years so leave now!" I ordered as the flames intensified.
"I came here because I care about you but I'll leave since it's what you want." He said with a straight face but beneath that smug look, I could see the hint of hurt in his eyes.
I quickly shook those thoughts from my head for all I know he could be colliding with my father.
"Good bye Priscilla." He said coldly as he vanished into thin air.
I looked at the scene I had to wipe off every trace before others like my father could see it.
I could deal with the cloves but with my current power, I don't think I can be considered a match to go against my father.
With a swift motion of my hand, I used my powers, erasing any trace of the attack. It was as if a breeze swept through, restoring everything to its original state. I then focused my energy on the broken sink, effortlessly repairing it until it gleamed like new.
I stared at the back entrance, my gaze fixated on the path that disappeared into the woods. Miles was strong, and if he managed to escape, it was likely he sought refuge in those very woods.
I held the silver coin with the letter "C" engraved on it, and a sense of anger washed over me, causing my eyes to darken.
"I'm coming for you," I muttered through gritted teeth.
As I tracked the trail of footprints that led to the woods, my mind raced with a flurry of thoughts. If I managed to locate Miles, I would have to resort to wiping his memories once more.
It's not a permanent fix, but it'll do for now. The full moon's coming up, and it's his first shift. I need to sever that connection before he transforms, or I'll miss my chance.
If Miles were a regular werewolf, his first shift would have been a moment of pure joy, like a baby's first words or first steps.
But in Miles' case, I couldn't take that risk. Once he shifts, the protection spell I cast to hide his powers and aura will fade, making him vulnerable to supernatural beings.
I had to track down some ingredients for the spell, so I gave Abigail a call and let her know about the change in her tasks. She grumbled a bit but eventually agreed. If there's anyone who can get those ingredients, it's Abigail.
As I heard the footsteps getting closer, I pretended not to notice, but I was already prepared to defend myself. Suddenly, I felt a hand gripping my shoulder. Without hesitation, I swiftly spun around, grabbing my opponent's throat with one hand and raising the other, ready to attack.
"Ella!" I exclaimed in disbelief, I let go of her throat, my hand retracting as she coughed, trying to catch her breath.
"Theo called he told me what happened, I'm guessing this has to do with your wired family." She remarked and I let out a frustrated sigh.
"It's so good to see you, I know you've been busy with work but I'm glad you're here," I said hugging her gently.
We both retracted from the embrace when we heard a loud growl, it sounded angry and I could feel the murderous intent.
"Oh my God is that.." Ella said with shock.
"Miles,"I muttered, unable to believe my eyes.
My jaws tightened as I met with those red eyes, I could barely recognize my son.
