Priscilla's pov
My jaws tightened as I met with those red eyes, I could barely recognize my son.
"What do we do?"Ella asked as we both moved back slowly.
"I have no idea, according to my calculation this was not supposed to happen."
I was utterly speechless, I didn't know what to do. He was not supposed to shift until his sixth birthday. I looked at him, something must have triggered this half-transformation.
His face was nearly covered with a thick layer of fur, his shoulders were broadened and those red eyes were filled with rage.
He rushed towards us with a growl, Ella and I quickly made a run for it.
We hid in one of the trees and we tried to catch our breath.
In this state, it would be hard to cast any spell.
My eyes widened when I saw Ella bring out her gun and I knocked it off.
"What did you do that for?" She whispered.
"We are not killing my son," I whispered back.
"What do you suggest we do, we have to put him down before he goes into town and hurts someone."
Her words made a lot of sense but I was not ready to lose my son, especially after protecting him for almost sixteen years.
"Stay here," I whispered to Ella and hurriedly dashed out to meet the Miles.
He was scanning through the woods, and when he caught sight of me, he swiftly turned around.
"Miles I know you can hear me, it's your mum," I said softly, with hopes he would calm down to his senses.
Ignoring my words, he charged towards me. Reacting quickly, I conjured flames in my hand and hurled fireballs at him but it seemed they did not affect him.
He was so fast, I couldn't keep up. I felt his claws tear into my flesh as he lifted me and flung me into a tree. My back collided with a branch, and I crashed to the ground.
Ella came out from where she was hiding firing shots at Miles but with the speed of light, he grabbed the gun and with a grow,l he broke it into pieces and grabbed Ella's throat as she continued to struggle from his grasp.
I tried to reach them but I was already hurt badly.
"Miles! stop it." I yelled clenching my stomach to stop the bleeding.
A small knife collided into Miles's shoulders he dropped Ella to the ground and he wailed in pain.
I turned and saw it was Jeremiah, my half-brother.
"You! Why are you here." I exclaimed.
"I kind of did something to Miles..."
Jeremiah used his magical powers to restrain Miles as he desperately fought to break free.
"Priscy I can explain." He added when he saw my expression darkened.
"This is your fault isn't it, you did this to Miles?" I yelled.
"It's not what you are thinking," Jeremiah said in fright, moving backward.
I lit up my hands in flames, I rushed to him to burn him to ash but Ella quickly held me.
"Priscilla we don't have time for this, calm down we need to fix Miles."
I exhaled and the flames went off and I turned my gaze to Miles but he wasn't there then turned back to Jeremiah.
"Where is he?" I asked furiously as I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
"He..was right here." Jeremiah stuttered, it was clear he was frightened by my presence.
Ella pulled me away from him.
"Screaming at him won't help us find Miles."
Ella's words brought me back from my momentary anger. I glared at her and I knew she was right.
"He's still half transformed but he doesn't have control and with the full moon approaching his blood lust is going to increase. We have to find him fast before he hurts someone." I exhaled deeply, leaning on the trunk of a tree to support myself because I was already starting to get dizzy from all the loss of blood.
"Priscilla I can help you with that." Jeremiah motioned at the wound on my stomach.
"I don't need your help, for all I know Father must have sent you here to do this dirty work, is this why you are here Jeremiah? To ruin my life and my son?" I could feel the tears coming in but I held it in, clenching my stomach tightly.
Ella examined the wound and sighed.
"This looks bad," Ella said.
"I know. I've been trying to heal it but it's not working. The claws of a hybrid are no match for my healing technique." I replied.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen," Jeremiah mumbled, keeping his gaze fixed on the ground.
"Sorry isn't going to bring Miles back from the state you put him in, you don't think of the consequences of your actions. Leave immediately I don't want to see you." I said bluntly turning my gaze away from him.
"Very well then." Jeremiah swallowed hard he turned and disappeared with the wind.
I finally breathed a sigh of relief when he was gone. The realization hit me hard, if a weakling like Jeremiah was able to find miles that meant Lucifer probably knew where to find him.
The fact he hasn't been making any attempt to kill Miles still makes me anxious. If he doesn't want to kill him then what does he want? I thought.
"So are you going to talk about the hot guy that just vanished into thin air?" Ella nudged my arm, smirking at me.
"That's just my half-brother Jeremiah. I can tell you all about him once we find Miles." I rolled my eyes and forced myself up.
I scanned the area, searching for footprints. Miles doesn't have magic so there is no way he can just disappear without a trace.
"Any luck finding any prints?"Ella asked hurriedly after we had gone around it circle.
"I haven't seen any track of him running into the woods. It's just like as if he ..."
"Vanished," Ella said after me."yeah that is exactly what I was thinking."
She squatted on her knees assessing a footprint on the ground.
"This only track we have of Miles here when he was trapped by Jeremiah outside this one there's nothing else indicating he went into the woods" She trailed her finger above the last footprints.
I sighed, running my hands over my hair, witches weren't good at tracking. I had a solution but I was hesitant to use it because it would involve me calling Alaric.
He is a druid and druids have a strong connection with nature and with his excellent tracking skills I'm sure he would be able to find Miles. I didn't want to ask for his help because I don't trust and I yelled at him a few hours ago.
"I know someone who can help us track Miles." I exhale, taking my phone and dialing his number.
"What do you want?" Alaric asked in a harsh tone.
I swallowed hard racking my brain trying to make up words to say.
"If you are not going to say anything I'm hanging up." He said, his voice devoid of any emotion.
"Wait... I need your help in finding Miles." I said bluntly.
"No I'm sorry for yelling at you or I'm sorry for being a jerk even when I know all you wanted to do was help. No single apology from you and you just expect to rush down to help you?" He replied with an air of sarcasm.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you Alaric Wood so now get your ass right here and help me." I laughed.
"That doesn't count as an apology but I'll just let it slide. Give me a few minutes I'm on my way."
