"Sadly no. Last time I met mothers followers she sent down a message to them. they then showed up in my dimension and already knew it was a holy land." Skuggir told the man named Sid.
This would be another challenge he faced on earth, the people with all there technology and larger social connections should be less trusting and more cautious people those of Ignalis!
Hearing this Sid thought for a moment and then asked "if your one of her children and a holy creature to boot, then what is the name of your brother."
Seeing he would have to pass a go of trivia, Skuggir knew hat he would be able to answer any question as a proud nerd in he previous life! "Which one? the snake or the wolf?"
"Snake."Sid deftly responded.
"Haven't met him yet but that should be Jourmangandr."
Satisfied by the Answer, Sid returned too his seat with seventeen minutes remaining. after two more minutes a man in a black suit that defined a butler, and a pin of a mustache on his chest, walked up too Skuggir.
"Hello Sir Skuggir, my name is Han, Is there anything you need." the man named Han asked in a measured and authoritative tone reminiscent of a victorian era housekeeper.
"Could you tell me when I can see the sun overlap the moon. I have always wanted to see it." Using his interest as an excuse, Skuggir aimed to try and check off one of the evolution options on his list.
not seeing how seeing the eclipse could cause any problems as long as he did not try and leave the city during it, Han left Skuggir's side for a moment.
with only five minutes left in the recess, Han came back to Skuggir and informed him that the next eclipse would happen in a months time, and that he should not leave the city during that time and any cost, as the monsters swell in power and hostility during the event.
with the information checked off his list, Skuggir needed to come up with somthing else he could ask about during the upcoming negotiations. The representatives would clearly try to make a deal, if not here then after the meeting.
With the recess over a pleasant chime rang through the hall, followed by the room quickly gaining a silence. "You wish to be friendly neighbors. All in favor raise you hand."
With the words let out but the man in the red suit, little under half the representatives raised their hands. "all those who did not vote in favor please submit your reason why. As for you sir Skuggir, what may you offer in this... Peace treaty."
the man in a red suit was now stalling for time and trying to gather more information from this odd monster. every time they had tried to be peaceful with monsters before they did not understand English and where unnaturally hostile. But Skuggir not only was not Hostile but was intelligent and claimed to be a child of Loki, or as he called them Ormr.
With his appearance coinciding with the awakening of Machina, and his words possibly being all lies, the man in red suit had to be cautious in placing his trust upon Skuggir.
Skuggir could be an ally or an enemy.
"I offer friendship, and a gate to another world. I have a few conditions but other then that this… peaceful cooperation will benefit you more so then myself." Skuggir rattled off with a deep confidence to be felt in his voice.
Hearing this the man asked his last question in todays quickly put together assembly. "Are you a demon king?"
This question struck Skuggir as odd. Not only had he mentioned nothing of the sorts, nor had he done anything evil, they had mentioned one of his evolution options. "No, I'm am not a demon lord. But I have use of their… essence."
With only a few more questions back and forth and formalities completed, Skuggir left the room with a Identity card that was black with red words etched into its surface.
Exploring the city, with many odd and judgmental gazes along the way, Skuggir felt something was off.
When he opened the doors of tungsten, Machina had activated and declared itself Avalon. Avalon was supposed to be a Utopian city of magic, and yet its was a metal fortress city of sci-fi proportions.
Putting the oddness of the situation aside, Skuggir went to a magic shop and asked for some books on the basic of magic. Wanderjng over to the bookcase he had been directed towards, Skuggir inspected the many titles upon its shelves.
"Basic magic for dummies, a magical compendium for beginners, basic magic mastery in 5 minutes, a travelers guide to magic. Each book was a different size and promised some kind of basic mastery over magic, but the book that caught Skuggirs eye was one that only one copy of rested in the shelf.
The books cover was a simple Erlenmeyers flask with magic circle on its surface. The rest of the cover, front and back, was a simple brown.
Along the spine of the book read, "A Scientific Approach To Magic."
Seeing Skuggir had taken an interest in the book, and how impossible it had been to sell until now, the shopkeeper spoke out, saying "you can have that book right there for half off. Just don't return it if you don't like it."
Knowing that this book was probably not that good, Skuggir also remembered he had no money.
"Haha it would seem I don't have any money sir. I'm new to around here, how about we make a trade. I will give you this coin." Skuggir reached into the pocket of the robe he had gained from the embassy in order to blend in more in case he didint want to be stared at, and pulled out a fake gold coin.
Seeing the sparkling coin with an odd insignia on it.
