In the Holy City, which resided just a mountain range away from Ignalis, a man in white robes sat on a throne with a neatly organized gathering of people before him.
The robed men and women, who paid no heed to the large amount of Paladins that stood at each pillar of the grand hall, stood in two rows that extended from the front double doors until just before the steps that led unto the platform in which the throne stood.
The walls of this grand hall were decorated with murals of Paladins fighting off hordes of horrible creatures that looked as if they had been put through the genetic meat grinder. Each mural and accompanying saying was separated by evenly spaced pillars, their shape carved to that of men reaching out for the hands of angels who did not care for them.
The pillars of the grand cathedral's main hall reached up to the amber-colored crystal ceiling. each pillar ending in a different Angel, one of them being Raphael. the amber-colored crystal ceiling made all the light that cascaded down into the cathedral a golden color as if their god was basking the room in his golden light.
The Holy Church of Light which controlled the Holy nation of Light, followed their god, named Dog. when their founder was wandering the land in search of a place to settle down, he witnessed the actions of two angels!
in the field next to the Light mountain range, named after the following events, the Holy Churches founder saw two angels descend onto the mountain range and fly overhead. stopping just above the tree he was resting under the two angels discussed their search for the one named dog who had just killed Aether, the god of light.
Due to being so far beneath them, the young man never realized the two angels were the enforcers of the realm that the gods inhabited. Their mission was to find and apprehend the Devourer of gods who had escaped from his divine imprisonment.
Based on this simple interaction, and subsequent observations of angels throughout the ages, the Holy Church formed a strong front. But underneath this Strong Front they showed, their inner members were not only corrupted to the core, using their statues and power for their gain, along with doing many abominable acts.
The very meeting that was being held was for how to respond to the City of Ignalis's offensive response, and their failed attempt to kill the holy creature of a false god.
many of the Celesticars within the room talked in low voices between themselves, all of them oblivious to their hypocrisy. Before the murmurs got out of hand, the Elciptarch spoke out, his voice booming. "Please, please, while their actions may have been disrespectful, we were in the wrong. we can solve all of this by sending them a gift." with the mention of a gift, many of the experienced Celesticars smiled alongside the Ecliptarch.
The last time they sent a gift to a nation, it had been the corpse of a dead dragon, but its appearance had drawn the ire of an adult dragon they had lured into the area, and caused the entire country to fall.
"Now... for what gift should we send them I do not know, Generouse ideas are welcome." with these words from the Ecliptarch, one of the Senior Celesticars brought his idea forth.
The Celesticar that had spoken out suggested that they bring a void crystal to the city, specifically in an unsealed and active state. this would make the probability of something bad skyrocket.
their plan was foolproof, as long as they delivered the crystal problems that would never happen in a million years would appear overnight, and the functioning laws that dictated the universe would morph. the destruction of Ignalis was assured, just like the long-forgotten great elven empire.
Checking out the traps within the dungeon, Skuggir found everything to be in working order. And with the attention span of a corpse, he sat next to the first trap, a swinging log and floor covered in a thin layer of birdlime.
when a group of adventurers came through, Skuggir watched as they walked right into his trap. As they looked down at their feet which felt harder to lift, a wooden log came from the ceiling tied by two ropes on either end.
The log came swinging down its hard bark-covered surface smashing into the downturned heads of the adventurers, their bodies sent flying back a few meters.
seeing the effectiveness of his new traps Skuggir left them to go work on his in-progress fortress that would function as the town center and his home in the town that was rapidly expanding, in both size and population, that had yet to receive a name.
Realizing this issue, Skuggir Sought out Enya, to rectify this problem. every town needed a name, and he would not allow the town within the borders of his dungeon to have something lame!
coming unto Enya, Skuggir called out her name, "Hey, Enya... something we need to discuss."
Hearing her name, Enya turned to its source only for a small smile to come across her face. "What do you need Skuggir? I will assist in any way possible!"
"It is very important. This wonderful town that we have all been constructing, what is its name?" Skuggir asked this question with a tone of importance. his words caused Enya to have a moment where she froze!
She had been so engrossed in the smooth operation of the town construction that she hadn't even thought about this matter. now that it had been brought to her attention she was ashamed she hadn't come up with something worthy of the town sooner.
"I... I don't know what to call the town. Do you have any ideas, Sir Skuggir" With an embarrassed face, Enya turned away from SKuggir.
"No, I don't have any clue as to what this nice little town's name should be" While Skuggir called it a town because it was small compared to the Goliath cities he was used to in his past life, Enya only called the place a town because she hadn't realized the scale of the project yet, nor the mounting population.
