Chapter 3 - The Fruit of Freedom

Kai finally emerged from the freezing waters, wrapped in their harsh cold that pierced his bones to the marrow. His limbs trembled uncontrollably, and a heavy numbness enveloped his entire body.

He felt as if his hands and feet were blocks of solid ice, with a sharp pain coursing through his fingers with every slight movement. He fought against his body's will, which refused to obey, moving slowly and haltingly toward the desolate shore.

Kai finally reached land, where the harsh sand met the protruding rocks. He bent down and felt his shivering body, searching for the small box he had strapped to his belt before diving into the icy waters.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he found it still there, reassured about the safety of the devil fruit on which he had pinned all his hopes. He took a deep breath, trying to regain his strength, then crawled with his frozen limbs toward a nearby rock to rest.

Kai sat leaning against the rock and carefully opened the box. Before him appeared a red fruit tinged with black, with strange protrusions emerging from its surface.

It looked exactly as he had imagined from seeing the devil fruits in the original manga he had read in his world. He shuddered at the thought, realizing he was now part of this strange world.

Without hesitation, Kai grabbed the fruit and took a big bite. It tasted bitter and foul, just as he had heard, but he forced himself to swallow it. He felt a strange heat rising in his body, then his vision began to fade, and he quickly lost consciousness.

Kai woke up to a man asking him worriedly, "Are you alright, boy?" Arkan was shaking him, trying to wake him up. Arkan muttered to himself, "This brat couldn't handle the fruit's power and passed out completely."

Then he shouted in Kai's face, "If you can't handle the power of this fruit, how will you handle the power of this world?"

Kai gave no answer as his body lay pale as the dead. About half an hour passed with Kai in this state before he slowly opened his eyes. He felt something strange, as if he were suspended in the air without any ropes or means of support. He tried to control his body, but a strange shiver ran through all his limbs.

After many attempts, Kai managed to return to the ground, but he was shocked to see huge wings behind his back, red tinged with black. He was filled with intense fear, never having seen anything like it before. The wings were enormous, as if they had emerged from a nightmare.

He muttered to himself, his face filled with shock, "Is this the fruit's power, or what the hell is happening here?"

Before he could finish his sentence, he felt himself rising again, but this time rapidly. Suddenly, Kai soared into the sky with his new wings, flying at a crazy speed that nearly made his internal organs burst.

He tried to control the wings with all his might, but it was extremely difficult. Arkan appeared again, yelling at him, "You're making me dizzy! You idiot, if you want to survive in this world, you need to control this power you've acquired!"

Kai looked at Arkan, then at the distant horizon. He fully realized that this moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, a chapter full of adventures and challenges. He decided to use everything he had learned from the manga and his previous experiences to become stronger.

Kai took a deep breath and focused all his mind on one goal. All his senses and awareness were directed toward one purpose: controlling the fruit's power. Naturally, he wouldn't be able to fully control its power here, just as the devil fruit eaters in the original manga took enough time to discover the powers of their fruits. This was something Kai knew very well.

But at least he had to try to control these stupid wings before they killed him here. He knew the fruit undoubtedly still had more abilities that would reveal themselves over time.

After many attempts, he shouted at the top of his voice, "It's now or never!" and finally began to control his wings. This time the feeling was different. Kai felt an unlimited power emanating from his wings as if they had become a part of his body so quickly.

He finally started to feel he could somewhat control them. He also began to feel a shiver throughout his body, just like when he first ate the fruit.

He started flapping his wings again. He quickly accelerated to an even greater speed than the first time. Kai was piercing through the air at an unlimited speed. He felt that the wings were emitting more power, as if they were telling him, "We still have more strength; fly at whatever speed you desire."

It was crazy. The clouds beneath him passed by rapidly. A ring of vapor formed around Kai's body due to the insane speed, and he felt an absolute freedom as he soared through the sky. The more he increased his speed, the more confident and in control he felt.

He flew among the clouds, marveling at the beautiful scenery around him. He felt an absolute freedom he had never experienced before. He ascended through the clouds and descended below them, watching the sun send its rays to the earth. He looked to his right and saw dark clouds going to rain somewhere. Kai continued to fly, mesmerized by the stunning view around him.

Suddenly, he remembered a quote he had read in a book when he was in his world: "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains. Those who believe themselves to be masters of others are indeed greater slaves than they." Kai felt these words carried a profound meaning, and that he was now living a completely new experience, an experience of absolute freedom.

Kai continued his flight, enjoying every moment in this new world, vowing to himself that he would live free no matter the cost...

The sky was dreaming of its clear blue color, and the horizon stretched endlessly, while Kai soared among the white clouds like a free and gentle breeze. He felt that the horizon was his, and the winds caressed his wings gently like a touch of silk.

He flew freely, rising and falling, dancing with the winds in a symphony of glorious flight, as if the world had gifted him wings to experience absolute freedom.

The white clouds beneath his feet stretched like a sea of cotton, enveloping him with a sense of calm and tranquility. Those moments filled his soul with unparalleled joy, as if he were a bird in a fantasy world where anything was possible.

He flew without direction, just enjoying that rare feeling of being unbound by any constraints.

Suddenly, he felt something strange. His wings began to slow down, as if an invisible force was holding him back. At first, Kai couldn't believe what was happening. Had those magical moments ended so quickly? He was at the peak of the clouds, and everything seemed perfect. But he quickly realized he was losing control, and his wings completely stopped.

He began to fall rapidly, his heart pounding violently, and fear engulfed him like a storm. He realized that falling from this height meant his end. He was falling, trying to think of a solution to get out of this predicament.

As he approached the clouds, a desperate idea struck him: what if he folded his wings and released them again? He pressed his wings forcefully, but it didn't work. He continued to fall, approaching the clouds terrifyingly.

But suddenly, instead of breaking through the clouds, he found himself standing on them as if they were as solid as the ground. Kai's shock was indescribable. Was he dreaming? He couldn't understand what was happening.

Kai remembered a scene from the manga One Piece, where Kaido and Momonosuke could control the clouds and even create their own clouds.

The clouds beneath his feet were as soft as silk, reflecting the sunlight in a stunning manner. They looked as if they were made of some magical substance, and the view before him was breathtaking.

The clouds stretched endlessly, forming landscapes he had never seen before. Kai began to walk on the clouds as if he were walking on the ground, a unique experience.

Arkan took out a fruit from his pocket, looking at Kai and then at the clouds beneath his feet. "It seems the fruit controls the clouds," Arkan said in admiration. "This fruit is amazing; we can discover more of its abilities over time."

Kai had an extraordinary idea: if the fruit controls the clouds, could he shape them as he wished? Kai began experimenting with that, making hundreds of attempts, and eventually succeeded in moving the clouds.

It was a remarkable moment, and Kai felt overwhelming joy. Now he could shape the clouds as he wanted, making them solid and unbreakable.

Kai continued experimenting with his new abilities until sunset. As night fell, Kai decided to spend the night above the clouds.

The scene before him was fantastical, with stars twinkling in the sky and the moon illuminating the clouds with its silver light. It was an indescribably stunning sight.

The next morning, Kai became capable of shaping the clouds into any form he could imagine. He made extraordinary things out of them, such as bicycles unlike any in the world of One Piece. The clouds he shaped were incredibly solid and unbreakable.

Kai felt indescribable happiness. This new ability opened endless doors for him. The bicycles he made were amazing; he could use them to move freely in the sky.

But suddenly, he felt a new hunger gnawing at his body. He knew it was time to return to Ohara Island for food.

Kai decided to leave all this for later and return to the island to start preparing to achieve his dream and bring more chaos to this world.

He was extremely excited about what he could achieve with his new abilities and knew that his upcoming adventures would be more thrilling and exciting than ever before...

The sun had begun to appear over the horizon when Kai set off with his large wings towards the island of Ohara. Flying in the air, his wings shimmering in the first light of dawn, he was searching for something to satisfy his unbearable hunger.

The wind caressed his face and filled his wings with strength, as if embracing him and urging him to hasten towards the ground. His descent to the island was like a scene from legends, his wings folding smoothly as he landed gently on the shore.

As soon as his feet touched the sand, he noticed unusual movement near the water. A group of sea monsters was wrestling among themselves, moving gracefully back and forth close to the shore, as if sensing a stranger's presence.

Kai decided to take advantage of the opportunity and hunt one of them; he had always wanted to taste the food from the One Piece world, and now was the time to make that happen.

With his massive wings, he surged towards the monsters swimming nearby. He moved quickly, the wind beneath his wings giving him extra power.

Kai approached the monsters, and just as he got close enough, one of the monsters leaped at him with the intent to attack. With a swift dodge, Kai avoided the blow and realized at that moment that his senses had become sharper and more precise.

Kai wondered what was happening to him, but he quickly understood that it was not the time to think. If he lost focus, he might become food for the monsters.

The monster that had attacked him gathered itself and charged at him again with full force. Kai stood his ground, waiting until the monster was close enough. Then, like lightning, Kai struck the monster with a powerful blow to its face, sending it flying away.

Kai quickly moved to grab the monster and pull it out of the water. The attempts were numerous, but after great effort, he succeeded in lifting the massive creature away from the shore.

Preparations for the grand feast began, with Kai gathering large rocks and wood, and lighting a massive fire. The scene was astonishing, the fire consuming the wood and illuminating the place with its strong light.

While Kai was washing his face with seawater, he didn't notice one of the burning logs slipping behind him and advancing towards him quickly.

When Kai finally noticed the log, he tried hard to avoid the collision, but to no avail. The log hit his back, reigniting the flames and sending tongues of fire into the air, surrounding Kai in the middle of the disaster.

Kai stood there, not understanding what was happening. Any ordinary human would have perished instantly, either from the collision or the burning, but Kai emerged from the flames as if coming out of water, as if nothing had happened.

Kai's shock was minimal; he had started to get somewhat used to surprises and shocks since arriving in this world. He muttered to himself with a wry smile, "It seems I've become a fire conqueror too, what madness is this?"

"Was this the power of the Devil's fruit, or what?" Kai muttered to himself, genuinely shocked at how he survived this. It seemed that the fruit he had acquired, which Aarkan had sensed, was not just any ordinary fruit.

This was what Kai felt, and the fruit confirmed it every time.

Moments later, as Kai was lost in his thoughts trying to comprehend the situation, the sea monster finally cooked. Kai lifted it from the fire and placed it on a large slab nearby, ready to eat the meat at last.

But before Kai could take the first bite, he heard a voice coming from afar. In truth, the sound was coming from his pocket. It was Aarkan, who had caught the scent of the meat: "Meat, meeeeeat, lots of meat, a mountain of meat!"

Aarkan emerged with drool dripping from his mouth, and without waiting for permission, he lunged at the sea monster and began devouring it at an unusual speed. Kai watched this and wondered how this man with an extraordinary appetite could live in that small lantern.

But there was no time for these questions either; if he didn't hurry and eat his meal quickly, Aarkan would leave him nothing but bones.

Kai cut a large piece from the sea monster and lunged at it, feeling an endless hunger anyway, so he ate as much as he could until his stomach no longer demanded more.

But the amazing thing was that while Kai ate one, Aarkan ate four; his appetite was incredible, and his stomach began to swell until it became like a giant ball. Then, he lay on the ground and screamed at the top of his lungs with all the strength he had left, "Damn, that was so delicious."...
