Kai began his search quickly for a place to stay in this vast city. He roamed the crowded streets of Loguetown, looking everywhere for a house to rent but found nothing. All the houses and hotels were occupied, which wasn't surprising for a city bustling with merchants, sailors, and pirates from all over the East Blue.
The main street was packed with people, vendors shouting about their goods loudly, while carts filled with merchandise moved between the narrow alleys. Kai's attempts to find a place to stay were fruitless, and he felt tired and frustrated after hours of searching.
He decided to try his luck at the harbor area, believing there might be a better chance of finding accommodation. Upon arrival, he noticed a more lively atmosphere, with the sounds of waves crashing against the docks and the shouts of hardworking sailors.
After some time, Kai noticed a young boy selling fish at the corner of the harbor. He approached and asked, "Do you know of any place I can rent here? I've looked everywhere and found nothing."
The boy looked at Kai with curious eyes and said, "If you're looking for a place to stay, Mr. Jin might have a small house for rent. He lives at the end of the dock and owns some cottages he rents out to sailors who come here."
Feeling hopeful again, Kai thanked the boy and started walking towards the end of the dock. When he arrived, he found an old man sitting in front of an old cottage, smoking his pipe.
Kai approached him and said, "Are you Mr. Jin? I was told you might have a place for rent."
The man looked up at Kai, took a deep puff from his pipe before replying, "Yes, I am Jin. I have a small cottage on the beach, but it's not in the best condition. If you need a place to stay and don't mind doing some simple work to improve it, you can rent it."
Kai smiled and said, "That would be great. I'm willing to do any necessary work."
Jin nodded and slowly got up, then led Kai to the cottage. It was very simple, but it had everything Kai needed. He felt relieved to have finally found a place to stay for a while.
Jin said, "You can stay here as long as you need. The rent will be low if you help me maintain the place."
Kai thanked Mr. Jin warmly and promised to do his best to keep the cottage in good shape. Kai began organizing and tidying up the place, feeling like he was taking a new step towards his goal in Loguetown.
At the end of the day, Kai stood at the threshold of the small cottage, admiring his work. The cold air pierced his bones, but the feeling of accomplishment overwhelmed him. Simple changes in the wood and fixing the small hole in the roof, cleaning the dust and dirt in every corner of the cottage. When he finally finished, he felt exhausted, with a heaviness in his body and soul.
Kai took out his belongings, which he had packed in a bag, and placed them on a table he had made himself from nearby forest wood. The atmosphere was strangely quiet, but this calm was a prelude to a storm of thoughts swirling in his mind. As Kai meticulously arranged his things, he heard a light knock on the door. He opened it to find Mr. Jin smiling at him.
Jin's smile held a mix of mystery and warmth. He said in a calm and steady tone, "I see you've done a great job here. The cottage looks much better now."
Kai replied with a slight smile, "Thank you, I had to make sure it was comfortable to stay in."
Jin added, his eyes shining with the moonlight seeping through the clouds, "Well done. I've brought you some food and water for dinner. You'll need to regain your strength after this long day."
Kai took the basket Jin offered and thanked him warmly. "That's kind of you. I needed something to eat."
Kai and Jin sat together outside the cottage, eating and talking about life in Loguetown. The stories Jin told carried a legendary quality, as if they transcended the limits of time and space. He spoke of sailors and merchants who passed through here and how the city was always full of life and adventures. Jin's words were like the intricate threads of a complex tapestry, connecting the past with the present.
Kai talked about his journey and his goals but avoided mentioning specific details about his upcoming adventure. There were secrets he kept to himself, secrets he couldn't share even with someone like Jin. After dinner, Kai felt a sense of comfort, realizing that having Jin by his side meant he wouldn't be alone in this new city.
Before Jin left, he said in a serious tone, "If you need anything, don't hesitate to come to me. I'm always here."
Kai nodded and said, "Thanks, I'll stay in touch."
As the night ended, Kai entered the cottage and closed the door behind him. The cottage reflected the faint moonlight, and there was an aura of tranquility. He lay on the simple bed, feeling relief after a day full of work and exhaustion. This night was his first in Loguetown.
Suddenly, Kai remembered he had to start working quickly. He jumped up, filled with enthusiasm, and took out all his belongings he had left in the bag, along with a lantern. A puff of smoke emerged from the lantern, filling the room completely, and soon the giant reappeared with a voice that nearly penetrated the cottage walls.
"How long will I stay in this cursed lantern? I hate it, I hate it so much and wish it would explode!" Arkan was extremely angry, and Kai noticed it too, but he tried to calm him down to lower his voice. Kai quickly ignored Arkan's endless complaints, took out his pen, and asked the system to bring him some papers to start drawing. As Arkan finally calmed down, he began asking about their location, but Kai, engrossed in his precise drawing, did not answer.
Arkan, his face filled with irritation, said, "You don't want to answer, huh? Well, I'll start exploring on my own." Being inexplicably bound to the lantern, he couldn't stray far. He tried to steal the lantern from in front of Kai, but found him alert, so he tried another approach. He left the cottage to explore their exact location, always finding this world fascinating.
Meanwhile, Kai was skillfully drawing the first chapter of the One Piece manga. The lines emerged from his fingers with remarkable precision, turning the drawings into vibrant life, brimming with movement and detail. After a short while, he finally finished drawing the entire chapter, consisting of several pages that held within them an adventure about to begin in this unpredictable world.
Kai emerged from his deep focus and looked at his work with some satisfaction. The pages depicted the characters and situations vividly, as if they spoke of adventures yet unwritten.
Arkan returned to the cottage, his face still curious. "This place... it seems to have old stories waiting to be discovered. What will we do now, Kai?"
Kai looked at Arkan with a faint smile and said, "We'll start from here, rewrite history, and uncover the secrets time has hidden. I think our real adventure begins now."
