Nora panicked, "No.. please don't kill me."
"Deal?"
A tear slid into her mouth, "Deal," she said quietly.
"Good."
He smirked,"Now, you will be a good girl and not say anything to anyone, this must be kept secret, is that understood?"
She nodded, her heart still throbbing.
"Yes, I understand," she bit her lips.
"Very good, you may go. You are no longer needed," he frowned.
She shakily walked back to the door and out of the house. When she was out of the house, she dropped on the floor and cried hard.
"What kind of life is this? How did I get so unfortunate?" She sobbed.
When she could cry no more, she picked herself up and entered her car and drove not to her husband's house but to her apartment.
She didn't want to stay with him, she couldn't stay with him, she didn't have the heart to.
She drove for a long time before getting to her house. She got down from the car and walked to the front door.
Nora had always loved a simple lifestyle, even though Jimmy had wanted to build a duplex for her, she had insisted she wanted a bungalow.
She took out her keys and opened the door, dragging herself inside.
"I'll just stay here for a while, until I'm able to gather myself," she sniffed.
She dropped her purse and sat down. She was quiet and her eyes filled with tears again, "Jimmy," she palmed her face and began to cry again, now there was no way she could divorce him, not when her father in law had threatened her.
"Oh gosh, what did I do? Where did I even go wrong?" She kept asking herself this question but there was no one to answer her.
She drew her legs to herself, hugging her legs.
Her mind raced back to what had transpired between her and the stranger in the CEO's office and she stopped crying.
'Why crying? You also slept with someone else,' her subconscious whispered.
She wiped her face, "He.. was different, he made me feel what I wanted to feel," she blinked her eyes.
'Then keep going to him! If he is the only one who can give you what you want, go to him!'
She wiped her face, "Jimmy also didn't have a problem with me cheating hun, sure then, that's exactly what's going to happen," she wiped her face.
She straightened her face, "I guess that will be a win win then, he does not care, so I will not care either!"
She sniffed and wiped her face one more time, "I should stop crying over him, why am I still crying?" She held her head, even though she wanted to stop herself from crying, she could not help the tears that kept escaping her eyes.
She lay down on the couch, and decides to cry her eyes out. There was nothing else she could do not cry.
"It seems I have no choice," she closed her eyes and cried again.
***
She opened her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and got up. She had fallen asleep during her sobbing.
She stretched and yawned, "Oh," she sniffed and walked to the kitchen.
"I should go make myself dinner," she said weakly.
She made herself some tacos. When it was ready, she served herself and began to eat.
She was in a hurry, rushing over her food not caring whatever harm it caused. It was when she choked on her food she remembered to get herself water.
When she was done, she washed her plates and arranged them on the plate rack.
She went back to the sofa and reached for her phone.
30 missed calls.
"Huh?" She clicked on it and saw it was Jimmy who called.
She rolled her eyes, "What does he want now?"
She dropped her phone on the sofa, she was not ready to talk to him, thinking of him alone made her so angry, she could pounce on anyone she saw at that moment.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Jimmy.
She groaned and answered the call, "Hello?" She answered grumpily.
"Nora? Where the hell are you?"
She rolled her eyes, "In my house, why?"
"Ugh! You didn't think of telling me?"
"Why should I tell you? What do you want?"
"Come home right now!"
"No! I don't want to."
"Nora, I'm expecting some guests in the evening, you have to be there!"
"Why can't you be there by yourself? Must I join you?"
"What the f*ck? What do you think that will tell on me?"
She tightened her lips, "Ugh! I don't want to be there!" She yelled.
"You have to, if you don't come willingly before 3PM, I'll have to force you to come home then," he hung up.
She looked at her phone in frustration, "Who did I get married to?" She bit her lips.
She held her head, trying her possible best not to cry again. She was already tired of crying.
"Oh God, why did you do this to me?" Her voice broke again.
She rested her hair back on the chair, "I have walked into a cage and don't know how to get out," she exhaled, "Seems I just have to walk round and round, waiting for that day I'll finally walk out," her eyes filled with tears again.
She quickly wiped her eyes to prevent her tears from sliding down her face again.
She looked around her house, picked up her purse she has left on the sofa and walked out of the house. After locking the front door, she got to het car, hopped in and drove off.
_______
She arrived at the mansion. Grudgingly, she walked into the house, a deep frown on her face.
Jimmy had been waiting for her, "What took you so long?"
"There was traffic," she replied dryly and attempted to walk past him but he held her back.
"Traffic?"
"Yeah," she dropped her gaze.
He squinted his eyes, "You better not play games with me Nora, you won't like the outcome of it."
She shook his hands off, "You've already put me in a cage, happy now?"
She hissed and walked upstairs leaving him to stand there.
