Chapter 8 - 007 Wind Mana (Re-Written)

[And your next mission is to manipulate wind mana and store it in your body!]

The voice said, giving William his next mission.

"So that green thing is wind mana?" William asked curiously. Although he saw the green wind mana, it was only for a glimpse. Before he could observe it well it shot through and flew off, faster than he could see.

"Are you sure I am ready yet? I can't even follow its path, much less manipulate it?" William asked as he hung his head low.

[Yes! You are ready! But it will take a lot of time for your vision to be able to follow it and be able to manipulate it!]

William pursed his lips as he listened to the voice. He was hoping for the voice to cheer him up but was saddened at the reality.

[Remember William, you cannot always lean on others for support. Sometimes, no one would support you; sometimes, you have to take a lone path! You have to learn to rely on yourself!]

The voice said, trying to make William self-dependent. It was good now as he was still young, but later, what if he had to commit mass murders and genocide for the safety of his family? Who would cheer him up then?

William pursed his lips as he thought about the voice's advice. He knew there was some truth to that and knew that he should not rely on others every time.

He nodded his head in understanding and said, "....Okay, I will learn it slowly."

[Good! Now for how to manipulate wind mana! First, you have to learn to view it enough that you see how normal mana particles are turning into wind mana!]

William tilted his head as he listened to the voice's words, "So, what changes from my previous training?"

He asked, 'It doesn't change anything from my previous training as I have to do the same thing and see the wind mana!' He mumbled inwardly as he waited for the voice to respond.

[Yes! You are correct! But, although it is the same as your previous training, you add some more training to it!]

The voice said, explaining the difference between William's previous training and the one he was about to do.

[Your new training will not only include your old one, it will also include you focusing on the wind mana!]

"How can I focus when I can't see that thing?" William asked, confused.

[Exactly! That is your new training; you are already capable of seeing it but just cannot follow its speed!]

The voice corrected William. William could already see the wind mana but just couldn't follow it; it was too fast.

[You will train until you are capable of doing that and also until you understand just how mana turns into wind mana!]

William nodded his head repeatedly and without further ado, he closed his eyes, eager to start his new training.

He immediately concentrated like before and spread the sensations and senses of his surroundings. And within a few moments, he was now seeing the mana particles.

William looked around, as he was confused as to which particle he had to focus on.

"...umm, which particle should I focus on, it's not like I can just know which particle is going to turn into wind mana!" William exclaimed as he asked the voice to see if it would help.

But much to his dismay,

[You are right about that if you concentrate enough, you will know where to look and which particle to look at!]

TSK

The voice said, making William click his tongue in annoyance.

He then re-focused on the mana particles just floating about.

William watched with extreme focus as his gaze washed over many particles of mana.

'How can I know which particle will turn into wind mana? There are thousands of them here!'

William complained inwardly, a little irritated that he couldn't find them.

A few moments had passed and as William was looking at every single particle, his vision caught it.

In the centre of the space, one of the black particles of mana suddenly turned green and just shot off.

William quickly turned his gaze toward the particle but it was too late. The wind mana was already gone.

TSK

He clicked his tongue again in frustration, he ended his training and opened his eyes.

'I thought I could do it!' He grumbled as his tiny hands were curled into fists.

[Do not worry about it! It was your first try and no one can master something in their first try! You have to do it again and again until you succeed!]

The voice surprisingly cheered him up, making William a little startled.

"You are right!" William exclaimed as he tightened his fists, 'I was too eager! I have to try until I master it!'

His amethyst eyes glowed with determination as he muttered, "I will master it!"

...….

Two weeks had passed and William was now sitting on his bed, training.

He had little progress in his training to follow wind mana, but that didn't stop him as he gained tremendous progress in concentrating and could focus enough to see mana in just a few seconds.

William was now gazing at the black mana particles and his speed at watching them has increased a lot.

As he was scrutinizing each mana particle his vision caught something odd in the center.

His focus quickly darted to the mana particle. William could see a green ball moving at incredible speeds.

He stopped his breath in the middle, focused his everything, and followed the wind mana.

The wind mana left a tail of green light as it shot through.

It flew almost in a straight line as all the other neutral mana particles almost avoided like a plague.

William watched intently as the wind mana almost hit a neutral mana particle before it disappeared.

'What was that!? How did it disappear just like that!?' He exclaimed inwardly as he opened his eyes.

"Hey, do you know why it disappeared!?" William asked the voice, curious about why it had just suddenly disappeared.

[It is your training! I cannot tell you that!]

The voice reminded almost sounding annoyed by William.

TSK

William clicked his tongue again, he pestered the voice, asking questions every time, even after knowing that it wouldn't answer.

"No matter! I will find it out myself!"
