Myles didn't know what to do in the face of such a danger. His first instinct was to get out of the way, but then he realized that it was impossible.
His second thought was a bit rash, he thought to abandon his sword and run. But he dropped the idea, the moment it popped up inside his head.
"Abandoning my sword in the middle of a battlefield is the same as committing suicide!" Myles thought to himself.
He began to think of another idea but he knew that he must hurry when he saw the gun charging up! He knew that the gun would fire in just a few seconds!
A few seconds later, an idea finally appeared in his head. The idea was fairly simple but very risky since the gun was pointed towards his head.
He planned to move his head away just a few seconds before the gun fired at him.
"It's risky, but I don't have much of a chance," Myles thought to himself.
He shook his head and got rid of all of his doubts in a matter of a few seconds. He focused all of his attention on the gun extending out from the spear.
He waited for a few seconds to move his head as he tried to push his enemy backward.
When it looked like flames were about to emerge from the opening in the gun, he guessed that it was just a few seconds away from firing.
With a deep breath, Myles quickly moved his head away from the gun, hoping that it would not adjust its aim once again.
Thankfully, his wishes were answered as a powerful beam shot out from the gun charging towards where his head was before.
The powerful beam passed by his face, and the heat given off by the beam burnt his face, neck, and shoulder. Giving him some moderate injuries.
If this beam passed through his face then he would have certainly died!
Notifications flashed in his retina but he ignored them. He focused all of his attention on avoiding making contact with the beam.
He waited patiently for the beam to dissipate.
Just a few seconds later, the beam dissipated like a lie. It gave him the time to scan his enemy from top to bottom.
He turned his attention towards the spearman and began to inspect him.
It looked like the knockback of using the gun had pushed him a few cm backward. Not only that, his face was pale, and he was gasping for air; it was clear that he was very exhausted.
Seeing this, Myles narrowed his eyes as a smile slowly crept on his face.
"He looks very weak; it's the perfect time to get rid of him," Myles thought to himself as he waited for the beam to dissipate.
Myles didn't know why he was so exhausted.
Maybe it was because the usage of the gun demanded an enormous amount of mana from him or something else. He wasn't sure.
However, he had no intention of letting this opportunity slip his hand. Hence, he charged towards his enemy at an incredible speed while looking at his surroundings.
The injured guy with the gauntlet was in no condition to pose a threat to him. As for the other enemies? They were preoccupied with dealing with their allies.
This meant no one was there to save the spearmen from his wrath.
Due to the help of his boots, he appeared in front of his enemies within a mere second!!
Without giving the spearmen any time to react, he swung his horizontally in a straight line.
The enemy tried to block his attack but he failed miserably. Sure, he did manage to make his spear collide with Myles's sword.
However, the moment his sword collided with his spear. His spear was sent flying! It landed a few meters away from him!
In such a weakened state, he didn't possess much of a threat to Myles!
"You will die here!" Myles exclaimed.
Myles swung his sword towards his heart, intending to stab his heart. Even though he didn't use the second movement of basic sword art.
He believed the strength of the third movement to be sufficient to kill him! Sure the
Left with no way to defeat himself, the spearmen accepted his fate. However, even when he was at the doorstep of death, he still threatened Myles.
"Kill me but my comrades will surely kill you all!" The spearman barked.
Less than a second later, Myles's sword stabbed the enemy's heart. He let out a scream of pain during his last moments, attracting everyone's attention.
"Ahahahahahah!!!!" He let out a scream of pain.
The attention of both his allies and enemies was drawn towards him for a brief moment.
His allies looked slightly happy but anger was visible on their enemy's face.
The enemy with the strongest aura quickly signaled the gunners to riddle him with bullets!
Around half of the gunners responded by pointing their guns towards him!
His allies didn't immediately notice this.
Myles, unaware of the danger looming above him, drew his sword a second too late. Blood gushed out like water bursting from a dam, forming a small pool beneath him.
A few seconds later, the eyes of the person turned lifeless, and he collapsed into the pond of blood.
Notifications flashed in his retina which he briefly stared at.

He ignored the notification just a few seconds later. He stared at the corpses for a few seconds. He wanted to loot them, but sadly, he didn't have the time to do so
A second later, a voice resounded through his ears.
"Celestial Swordkeeper, look behind you!!" Vincent shouted, his voice carrying seriousness.
Upon hearing this Myles looked behind him and saw that the gunners were preparing to open fire.
Even before he had the time to react, they had pulled the lever causing a rain of bullets to slowly descend upon him
"Fuck" Myles cursed upon seeing this.
He started to move as fast as he could to dodge the bullets, completely abandoning his mission to protect the cargo.
He kept jumping around without a care in the world until a notification flashed in his retina.
(The boost provided by your boots will run out in 1 minute)
When Myles read the notification, despair was visible on his forehead. Since, if the boost provided by the boots ran out, it was certain that he would be riddled with bullets!!
"I need to think of an alternative," Myles mumbled.
As Myles was pondering what to do, the captain's voice resounded through his ears and something incredible happened shortly after.
